Picked this motor up for $250. My buddy thinks it’s a bad idea to put this in my lawn mower. He won’t lend me his welder now. I think he’s overreacting. How do I prove him wrong?

Put it on top of the old mower and zip-tie it down. This will allow you to remove the motor and rotate it if you need too. Personally, I would strap an old two-liter bottle to the handle for a gas tank. You can use a crimp on the gas line to control the speed. If the old motor still runs I would definitely go for the duel-motor setup, this will give you four times (inverse square law) the power!
Hell yeah man you get it. Thanks for the tips. I was just gonna take the old one off and weld it straight to the frame. I was just gonna use it for my “turbo stroker” idea but that sounds super sick. What do you think about installing a turbo too? I just don’t see a reason to settle with less power.

Just use a couple of C clamps to hook it up to test it. Once your buddy sees how fast you can mow the lawn, he'll lend you the welder.

I think that's a civic motor, around 92. Putting it on a mower will be a chore.
Mount it in your lawn mower using only wood screws, duct tape, zip ties, baling twine, gorilla glue and an almost broken ratchet strap.

Find another buddy that has a welder and get a 12 pack and some wings and get to welding.. dont worry about contamination. Weld/gas/oil flavored wings help the immune system.

Fine, I'll be the one to say it. That motor won't fit in a mower. First off, you gotta remove the a/c compressor. Then, you gotta remove all that wiring and add a 2 barrel carburetor. Otherwise all them wires will get stuck on things. Lastly it would overheat if you don't put a belt on the waterpump. Fix all that and your friend will definitely loan you a welder as any good friend should.
