He was totally hoping the tree was going to fall on Matt's car.
I was juuuust about to come let you know the tree fell on your car.
"I've been listening to it crack for the past hour"
If I was Matt I'd be kind of pissed. An hour dude? Why would you even say that?
An hour he had to warn lol
To be fair, if he’d have left it would have gone sooner. Wonder how many times he stopped and deleted the video he was recording and started over.
If only he had a device where he could somehow talk to or message the other person and tell them to come without leaving the scene...
I thought this too, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and assumed he didn’t have his number.
I feel targeted right now...
Also see: me trying to get a video of my cat being super cute/derpy, four or five videos of nothing happening, stop, looks like they’re gonna start again, waste more time, rinse, repeat.
He's been warning them for 3 years lol.
Possibly saved a life by not warning. If you can hear a tree breaking, don’t go under it just to rescue a car.
no one was at the @$%#?! office
I saw it as they had a warning of 300 years
No way in hell I'm hopping in my car to move it if the tree is already cracking. It's not like you have time to dodge it if it starts to fall right as you sit in your car. That would be such a stupid way to go.
He just said no one was at the office…
Once again, a tree made a sound falling when it was being observed.
Those damn quantum trees, who knows how they behave when no one is watching.
Probably "birds" rigging speakers and staging a false flag event.
I had a most frustrating conversation with someone about this once. Their argument was that trees don't make a sound if there's no one to hear it, because it's the act of hearing that makes what we understand as "sound". My argument was that energy is only released as light, heat or sound, and a tree falling turns a lot of potential energy into kinetic energy that must become either heat, light or sound. Since they don't get very hot or bright when they fall, that only leaves sound. I think their point was semantics - they didn't say it didn't produce sound waves etc, simply that if there are no ears to hear the sound waves travelling through the air, in their world there is no "sound".
So there would be nothing in the range of the noise to hear it or be stimulated someway by it? Like in a vacuum? Otherwise, the noise is never experienced by anything that is interested and it doesn't do anything so who cares if there was a noise anyway? Is it random whether we hear trees that we can't see? Because I heard tree limbs break without seeing them and I'm pretty sure nobody else was around to see it. Is it required to travel a minimal distance before it can give up?
I wonder if lightning makes thunder on Jupiter since nobody can hear it.
You’re sliding a piece of paper between subjectivity and objectivity. You were both right.
Yes, their point was semantics you autismo
But it wasn’t in the woods…
I see more woody things behind the fallen woody thing. You can't convince me those woody things aren't collectively called "the woods"
Except the parking lot with all the cars parked. 🤦🏼♂️
Yeah. I mean it looked like a nice place to picnic. Not anymore; but it did. It's the woods... technically... at least for now.
What I do know is: trees make sounds when I'm not present when they fall. I have video proof.
What if the sound had not been recorded?🧐
I don't know. Does anyone know where the OP is? Can those people be trusted? We would have to trust OP that there was a noise because it would be kind of unexpected if he said it didn't. I don't think I would personally believe him if he said the tree fell and didn't make a sound. That's just me.
Camera man finally doing camera man things
Sucks for those cars
De Ja Vu! This happened to me at work one day in 2001. There was a maple tree that grew between the building I was working in and the sidewalk. I watched that tree fall in slow motion onto my car. A paid off 1995 Dodge Avenger my husband and I had bought brand new. Rolled it off the lot with 33 miles on it. Killed by a city tree. Less than 60,000 miles. Got $3200 from the city. I'll never forget that slow-motion fall.
That sucks, it was almost old enough to be a politician
It only had 50 years left.
Still good enough for a third term
Nice guy there not telling anyone that a huge tree was about to fall on their car.
He’s been telling them for 3 years.
I've been saying it for 10 damn years. Ain't i been sayin it? I been sayin it!
Dad, I'm sick. I don't feel good. Pull over, man.
Everybody's amazed how he captured that moment, yet nobody asks why did it fall naturally?
What idiot approved this? It fell in the middle of a playground. That tree should've been marked as dangerous decades ago.
What’s also strange is how healthy it looked. The core was all rotted out but it still had good foliage.
Now that I look at it, isn't that one of it's fallen branches on the right?
Yes
Massive trees fall in my neighborhood all the time but always during a windstorm. Those leaves are barely moving.
Looks like a huge branch fell off overnight or something, maybe during a storm? Must have caused an imbalance in weight.
Those cars should not have pissed off those squirrels. See what happens?
Skip the video to year 299 for the good part
Well that answers the old question, if a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound.
That's not the question; the question is "if a tree falls in the woods but no one is around to observe it, does it make a sound?" The guy filming is there, so there is someone to observe the tree
The point of the question is that it can't be answered, there's no way to prove or disprove it with absolute proof, because you can't observe the tree to see if it does in fact, make sound
Not gonna lie, im not even 50 and already feel this.
He didn’t record it naturally, he used a phone
Thats how I read it too.
Everything that exists came about naturally, otherwise it wouldn't exist.
300 years old and they parked their car under it ONE unfortunate day
Imagine parking somewhere so long a tree naturally lives and then dies falling on it. Smh
I’m out!
Well if a bear shits in a tree does the woods make a noise?
This happened at my work, 2 spots down a coworkers car was crushed, mine was untouched thankfully lol
So this is how ents die.
Uhm, and it happens to fall when he’s all alone with it… Interesting… I think the city should investigate that guy /s
Sees tree falling…tells no one.
Did the fall of the right branch lead to the fall of the tree?
If he left, no one would have heard it.
Dude risked his neighbor's car to make sure that he got the shot...
So it does make a sound
I had the same thing said to me when a branch fell on my tree in my driveway a couple years ago during a freeze. All I’m hearing is that You’re telling me you could’ve come and knocked on my door and told me that it’s about to fall and you didn’t?
I remember when was a kid a massive oak fell in our front yard one afternoon. I was reading on my bed and the sound was so loud! My brothers got to see it happen.
Hes been checking in on this tree for 3 years? That's quite the hobby, I wonder how many hours he spent per day filming and expecting it to fall for all those years.
Rest easy big fella
It’s been… 300 years!
I was totally gonna call you
That was a bizarre way for that tree to fall
It'll probably sit there for another three years.
So sad.
Sounds exactly like sailor Joe Franta on YouTube
I’m very happy my home town hires arborists that judge tree health in public spaces. This tree should have been removed WAY before this point.
This tree definitely made a sound
thats a strange type of tree meditation
it lived well. gave more than it took. completed it's karma. om shanti, shanti, shanti.
"I was just about to get you because I've been listening to it crack for the last hour" You'd be so pissed
sounds drunk
Damn he's been standing there for three years and 1 hour that dedication
~ " im tired boss "
-tree, probably
Who needs friends if have a caring neighbor like this.
So, is it officially dead? The leaves were still green. Is the trunk alive? Rosebud?!??
This guy has patience
This guy fucking hates Matt
Sad.
Was that picnic table destroyed?
SO IT WOULD make a sound.
Wow that's incredible. That tree doesn't look a day over 289!
I wanna know who the 300+ year old person who told them how old the tree is.
Man that was a satisfying sound
It would not have made a sound if he had not been there.
This is wild. And you’re right, nobody listens
Listening to it crack for an hour and just about to get you. WTF
That;s my back carrying my shitty team in any game.
The unnatural cars got wrecked
…instead of telling people to move their cars…LOL
Did it make a sound because he saw it?
Huh, they do make a sound
Because there was someone around...
that's crazy, was the tree on the end of its life? shouldn't its leaves fall first?
That tree does not look 300 years old. Maybe 50-100. 300 is a big stretch.
50 years old? You’re bad at estimating how old trees are.
Twas not naturally if there was someone recording 😄
