Now just wait until he goes back and listens to Dark Side of the Moon for the first time in 40 years
Or Atom Heart Mother Suite
I mean, all of them, but Revolver first.
Gotta listen in order, so Pet Sounds first. Some fan you are!
Extremely underrated piece, always gets overshadowed by Echoes
With Wizard of Oz
He's looking like he's rethinking all those weed arrests he made over his career.
Wonder how many people he arrested for smoking weed.
Who are rotting in jail while this is being filmed
Frankly, the fact that only 2 legal states did any kind of clemency and mass-release for non-violent cannabis offenses - and that no one cares that’s poor people still rotting in cells next to rich white nepo babies opening up dispensaries… and no one talks about it.. is everything one needs to know about US justice.
Just think of the millions of people who have had their lives destroyed since "The War on Drugs", and their families, and the huge expense involved, and judges and attorneys and prison guards and damn, it's really overwhelming (and ongoing).
I'm just laughing because I'm surprised the right hasn't started using this unironically.
When did System of a Down get political...
They always were they were at first about the Armenian genocide, singer went left drummer went right singer wants band to stay political, drummer dosent I’d say that’s the main reason they don’t play more than one off shows
There are multiple reasons. That's one
They outlawed slavery, so we have to improvise to keep it going
Gotta love reddit for these comments. When they show this stuff , it appeals to the irrational mind, doesnt it? He probably arrested so many people who's lives were turned upside down owing to weed. Now he smokes and it and all is well.
Three fiddy
Half the black male prison population 🤣
There was a former police officer who specialized in highway drug interdictions. He eventually married a hippie, started smoking weed, and sold a of “Don’t get busted” tapes on late night tv, giving tips to not get busted by the police with drugs. He went through former dash cam videos of himself talking about what he was looking for in a traffic stop and how he regretted arresting people for weed.
Kind of like blaming the average german soldier for the holocaust.
This guy was a police captain. He simply enforced the law, not create it.
I can see the irony but it really doesn’t apply here.

God forbid someone uses a substance for no other reason than bc it makes them feel good. I dont drink or smoke pot but also don't feel I have a say in other people's choices.
What fucking era did you grow up in? lol.
Google 3 strikes
That’s how it is now, in states where medicinal is legal. But in states where it’s not you can still be cited or arrested for it.
And it wasn’t that long ago when simple possession was an automatic trip to jail in all 50 states.
I bet he arrested a LOT of people for weed.
You think most people are 100% healthy?
I'm 100% healthy! Oh, wait - I'm high.
Jose, get down from that ladder.
i picture that you had to put down your Coors in order to point out this critical distinction.
Go jump in the mud !
Only if you're using "abuse" as a legal term. Illegal drug use isn't always abuse because it's not always abusive.
Why lie?
Lol most people uae drugs to self medicate an unknown issue. I know thats why i used drugs when i was a younger. I had no idea about the issue i was dealing with.
As an adult i rarely use anything because i have worked through my issues
I really hope this is real because it’s amazing and could change so many lives.
It’s been reposted for years and I gotta wonder….
People want to believe marijauna is some sort of miracle panacea that cures all ills.
I have severe restless leg syndrome that keeps me from sleeping. RSO (Rick Simpson Oil) has been the only thing that’s helped me. I’m grateful to live in Canada.
Lol this video is at least 10 years old. In fact, this guy died 5 years ago. I remember watching this in high school thinking we were only a few years away from total legalization.
I have a neurological condition that triggers spasms like this. I had to go through rehab to relearn how to walk and talk properly. It was CBG and RSO that calmed my nerves down. It helped to calm my brain. It was an instant game changer for me, so I believe this video.
My gran was just like this. It really does help.
Definitely real. Cannabis is the most slept on medicine there has ever been.
Psilocybin
Actually yes, fair point definitely this as well.
Big pharma hates cannabis , can’t have a easily grown drug replace their money making shit they push
wtf is this comment bro 😭
You think this could possibly be fake? This video is like 20 years old lmfao
Alcohol < Cannabis
Yea I was amazed.
Like 20 years ago.
His smile says everything. What a beautiful moment.
I don’t wanna spoil it and I also admit I haven’t done much research. But somehow I am kinda skeptical about this. The man was having serious problems and just four minutes later he’s perfectly fine after just taking ONE DROP? Is there anyone else who has more knowledge on this, especially people who have had personal experiences or has investigated this topic, that could shine a bit of light on this issue?
The term "one drop" is misleading. A single drop of a low-potency CBD oil is vastly different from a drop of a highly concentrated, medical-grade THC oil. The man in the video likely used a very potent THC tincture, where a single drop could contain a significant, fast-acting dose of THC.
The man placed the drop underneath his tongue. This is called sublingual administration. It allows the THC to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream through the rich network of capillaries there. This method bypasses the digestive system and liver, leading to a much faster onset of effects than swallowing an edible. While 4 minutes is on the faster end of the spectrum, a rapid effect within 5-15 minutes is plausible with this method.
This is the most stunning part of the video, but there is a scientific basis for it. The brain has an endocannabinoid system that helps regulate many functions, including motor control. Parkinson's disease involves the malfunction of dopamine-producing neurons, which disrupts this motor control. THC interacts directly with the ECS. For some individuals, a potent dose of THC can temporarily help to modulate the neurological signaling that causes severe tremors. The Important Reality Check is that this is not a typical or guaranteed result. It represents a best-case scenario for a specific individual.
This is temporary symptom relief, not a cure. The underlying neurodegenerative disease is not being reversed. The effects will wear off.
For every anecdotal success story, there are many patients who experience no benefit from THC. Scientific studies on THC for Parkinson's have shown mixed and often modest results.
THC is not benign. It can cause significant side effects, especially in older adults, including confusion, paranoia, anxiety, dizziness, and impaired judgment. This can dramatically increase the risk of falls, which is already a major concern for Parkinson's patients.
What worked for the man in the video could be dangerous for another person. The type of product, the concentration, the dose, and the potential interaction with other Parkinson's medications are all factors that require a doctor's supervision. So, to answer your question: It is plausible that a man with Parkinson's could experience a rapid, temporary reduction in tremors from a potent, sublingual dose of THC. However, the video doesn't show the full picture; the potential side effects, the temporary nature of the relief, and the fact that this result is the exception, not the rule. Your skepticism is well-founded because these "miracle" videos can create unrealistic hope and overlook the very real risks involved.
None of those are significant side effects. You might as well have added "appetite increase" to the list.
I have my personal experiences using pharmaceuticals vs cannabis for my epilepsy, if that's okay? It's the only thing I've found that stops my grand mal seizures so I just get a migraine, and if I'm having a hemiplegic migraine, cannabis will ease it. I feel relief in 3-5 minutes. I've been on depakote, lamotrigine, topiramate, keppra. But for some reason, for me, cannabis works well and it works FAST.
Purdue Pharma knows all about it. Thats why they lobby to keep it illegal.
Sorry but I don’t understand what you’re trying to say. Could you please elaborate?
You can’t patent marijuana. So pharma has fought tooth and nail to prevent its use. They have alternatives that are legal and patented that they overcharge through the medical system, since doctors can’t go through insurance for marijuana, plus it’s illegal many places.
He essentially said: „it (often?) works exactly like that“ - which is why pharmaceutical industry wants to keep lid on.
If I may add something: even if it often (?!) works like that - then it will be the case for that type of patient with exactly (more or less) the same ailments. At least in my mind that’s the case ….
But one can hope that it will be used/tested more.
If people knew cannabis can heal a lot of illnesses and people return to cannabis instead of big Pharma big farmer would lose money therefore we’re gonna make cannabis illegal says big Pharma.
If cannabis healed a lot of illnesses, big pharma would monotize the shit out of it.
How? If it was legal people would just grow it themselves. For most of these people, one plant would give them enough, plus have enough to sell or just give away.
There's plenty of drugs that are illegal for you and me to have, but are perfectly legal to make medicine out of. It would be the same deal.
Isn't it a pain to grow enough to support a habit?
If it was between spending hundreds or thousands a month for meds for Parkinsons, or learning how to grow a plant, I'd pick the plant all day. Or I would just go down to the weed shop and buy some drops or whatever.
And I have a buddy who used to grow his own. It wasn't too hard, I mean it grows naturally. You can put a ton of effort into growing high quality stuff, or you can chuck some seeds on the ground and wait
Throw down seeds and wait doesn't grow great quality, so I assumed it wouldn't work for this situation.
A lot of Redditors need this
Parkinson’s or weed?
You made me snort lol
Weed: good
Parkinson's: not recommended.
Good for medicine, and I’m glad this treatment is available to this guy, but I also wonder how many people he and his police department arrested for cannabis.
This video is about 15 years old, CBD is working wonders on a lot of illnesses but most drug companies aren't interested in making people's lives better, it's a business, it's purpose is and will always be to make money...
Larry gettin faded
Next stop, the evidence room
^
How many of his troops put people away for doing the same I wonder? 🤔
[deleted]
Yes my bad. Very glad he got some help. I just wonder about people who never got a chance due to ridiculous rules.
Did he make the rules?
If I had to guess, no. But he would have enforced them.
Parkinsons is such a sad thing to see someone have to suffer with.
Evil disease
My uncle was diagnosed with Parkinsons a few years ago, and my god is it a horrible disease. Medical advancements like this are world-changing for millions, and I respect the researchers who figured it out more than I can put into words.
If he took cocaine he'd be able to go back to work
How many people do you think this guy arrested for this
My dad has Parkinson and is, I would say, about 2/3 as disabled as this man is... and refuses to try cannabis. ''I won't do drugs.'' Infuriating.
Ask him how he is sleeping.
For me, zero day time use as my balance sucks.
Nighttime, I take a gummy 5mg 5mg 5mg of CBD, CBN, and THC, it's just enough so I drift off and get 6 hours of deep sleep. For years, I only slept three hours a night (horrible, as memory doesn't go into long-term memory). It's like I remember the kids when they were little... boom, it still blows me away; they are all in their 30s now.
I mean hes probably still got symptoms but his body is steady enough that its more towards the standard trend required for physical interaction.
Think of how many people he arrested for marijuana possession and now it's saving his life.
Wonder how many people that guy busted and ruined their lives for weed.
Have some empathy.
He probably didn't have any getting people locked up
Who knows. He's dead now, so there's no asking him.
Where was his empathy while he ruined lives for decades? If life was fair, he would never get to imbibe again, just suffer till he dies. Justice > empathy.
I got arrested for smoking weed once. It was INSANE. I was seen no different than a real criminal and had to do much to get it erased from my history. I will always get pulled aside at an international airport owing to it. It is just a step they have to do owing to the arrest. Nothing malicious from their end, but explain that to someone you are with.
I honestly don't know who this man is. I just try to be empathetic.
How many people's lives did that police chief ruin over canabis before he retired?
"How do you feel, sir?" "Amazing. And hungry AF".
I assume he doesn’t have to roll his own joints?
Before 😵💫 After 😎
This made my day! Thanks so much for sharing. <3
Wow!!!
OMG...
1:41 pm
I want some chips!
That’s fuckin right!!!
I looked into this many years ago. The effects of the CBD/THC wear off with consecutive use, very soon not working at all. Looks great, but it's very, very short term.
Larry Smith, subject of the 2013 film Ride With Larry, died June 25, 2020 from complications related to Parkinson's Disease. Sadly, the cannabis wasn't the panacea it's often touted as. I hope some long-lasting treatments are on the way for PS patients.
Now he needs a five dollar foot long.
It is unbelievable
My ex has a niece that has a seizure disorder. Normal medications never worked well enough and caused too many side effects. The mom moved the family to Colorado so she could access medical cannabis. Completely changed the trajectory of her daughter’s life for the better with weed. She kicked me out of the house one time when I was 16 for smoking with their dad in the backyard, and she’s never used it herself.
Ha. I was the 420 th upvote.
Hell yeah
My nan died from parkinsons, and she refused to use any sort of cannabinoid because she grew up and spent her adult life being told "drugs are bad" this clip has always made me very happy and very sad at the same time
Wonder how many lectures and tickets he gave out to people smoking a joint...
Bro what! That’s awesome.
It will be funny to hear that his neighbors complained about the smell and he gets arrested.
I wonder how he feels when he considered all of the lives that he destroyed because of cannabis possession over the years.
To have it now literally saving his life... It's gotta be a real kick in the pants
Is this real?
I’ve seen this video a couple of times, but everytime he saiy : -So quickly! Is just sooooo comforting 🤗
Wat a turn coat.....
Jah bless
I am sure he busted many potheads on his way to captain. Now he knows what they all did. I feel better now.
This genuinely shocked me. I’m aware of the benefits of medical weed but fucking hell the change in him in such a small time was incredible.
Don’t give your address cause Pfizer AINT cool with this!
I thought this was found out to be fake???
how many people did he let rot in a cell for pot.
Get baked and get the Jenga out!
Definitely wasn’t his first time, this clip is old
Fake
Weed often has the opposite effect on me.
Can someone ELI5 how & why this works?
From Parkinson.org : “The endocannabinoid system is located in the brain and made up of the endocannabinoids (molecules in our body that act on the cannabinoid receptors) and cannabinoid receptors (a molecular switch on the outside of a cell that makes something happen inside a cell when activated) on neurons (brain cells). The endocannabinoid system helps regulate many functions, including memory, pleasure, concentration, movement, appetite, and pain.”
The site also lists some studies into various aspects of medical marijuana and its relation to tics and other movement disorders.
I don't think a 5 year old can read that.
Sorry i didn’t know what ELI5 meant. figured it was a typo of some sort or something.
No problem, I just thought it was a little funny.
This man has been through it, and finally some peace.
Medical cannabis, not that stuff you buy off of the streets.
Doesn’t look like Parkinson’s tho Anyway. Great trip

The voices in his head
Bet he was in charge of a lotta people being violently kidnapped for smoking weed. Fuck that.
I wonder how many lives he ruined for using this exact same product. This is better treatment than he deserves.
These are tinctures that cost $12-15k CAD a pop, and they most likely will not work in most cases. Edit added CAD since I’ve actually read these.
$12-15k? Bro, where? By the gallon maybe but even then you’re probably in for less than $1000.
Where’d you go Bro? I would like to buy for $1,000/per if you think you know better. The doctor who makes these in is Canada, look these up this isn’t store bought. I have looked it up for my best friend who has Parkinson’s, this is older, losers can downvote me all you want.
Edit: my buddy lives in Michigan and gets the best concentrates around and nothing compared to the meds he’s on.
In Michigan specifically, I’d bet you can find 1000mg+ tinctures for less than $15.
100th time this comes up but always nice to watch
