I used to play with this type of strainer 50 yrs ago when I found it in the ovens storage drawer.
I had this same thing when I was like 6
I used to have a small one of those, it was called a wire mandala. I think it is meant to be some kind of Buddhist prayer focus.
I had one as well, a small version with colourful beads on it.
Damn he really made all household items with a wire, Impressive.

I have a fidget toy just like that, only it’s palm-sized and it has both ends open so I can make a crappy cylinder with it
