How do I get this pin out

How do I get this pin out

A pin on the cord of my robot pool vacuum broke off in the power supply port. I can kinda get around it with a small flathead screwdriver but can’t get it up. Any suggestions on how to get it out

There looks like there’s some gaps in between the brass on the pin; if you have a small screw you may be able to get the tip in there and give it 1-2 turns. So long as it gets about 2 threads in it should probably be enough to start pulling back.

That’s a good idea, hasn’t thought about a screw

remove the 2 torx screws to pull the fitting out, you might then be able to push the pin out from the back of it

It’s a solid rubber back with just the electric wires poking through

Try the screws. They are there for a reason

I have, doesn’t give me access like you’d think

Drill it with a smaller bit and then use a bobby pin or something small to pull them. If that doesnt work use hot glue like someone suggested

Remove the rubber socket. Disconnect the wires on the other side after taking a photo to remind you where the wires go. Rap the socket firmly on a table top, with the hole that has the pin hanging over the edge. If you can get the pin 1/4" out, you can grab it with a needle nose pliers. Also, see if it can be pushed out from the other side.

I'm hesitant to agree with the screw idea because it could damage the contact. If that pin is a ground and doesn't make contact afterwards, the thing would probably still work but you'd lose some of the shock protection designed in via the ground contact.

Super glue on the end of a pen ink cartridge stick it in, let it try and try pulling the whole thing out. I removed a broken headphone jack like that once.

A dental pick can likely pull that out.

I would just use a tiny drill bit to core the center of the plug, super glue the end of a wire into the hole and once dry, pull it out

Other people recommended going straight to super glue but I would be worried about gluing the pin and making it worse

Only the robots can afford pools. 🤷‍♂️

Crazy glue on a wooden match or something similar. Let it set and Bob's yer Uncle!

Take a small stick or similar, put a bit of super glue on it and stick it on the broken part. Wait till it's dry and pull it out. Make sure you're not using too much glue or it will probably be ruined for good.

No guarantee that this will work but it's the only idea I've got.

I ran in to the same situation with my pool salt water cell power system. I found the connector online, disassembled it and swapped the entire connector out as there was no way to get the pin itself out. Finding the connector was a real hassle

Take out the two screws, pull the plug out. You should be able to get access to the back side, and push the pin out with a small screwdriver or awl.

It’s solid on the back, just the wires poking through

When you removed the screws and the connector? There’s no access on the back?

Then id just get a new one of those connectors and replace the whole thing. Pull the wires out of the old one, put them in the new one, then reattach the plug and its mounting screws.

That’s kinda what I was hoping to avoid. No access on the back just flat black rubber and two wires sticking out

You keep telling people it's solid on the back, but you should be able to pull the plug out once you take those 2 torx screws out. It's the easiest option. Why are you being stubborn about it?

Cause I already removed the screws and tried this option. The black plug is hard, it’s doesn’t bend or flex. It’s then wired into the inside of the control box. Sure I could order this part but I’m trying to avoid that.

I think what OP is saying is that the screws mount the plug to the plate, they don't hold the plug together and allow access like others have suggested.
