Well dunno why i like evil characters from Dottore to Rhinedottir. I even enjoy fuck up character like Johan Liebert from monster and Griffith from berserk.
If she becomes playable, I sure hope she doesn't get reduced to a typical victim stereotype like yeah she did commit one or two atrocities but shes just following protocol so pls don't be mad at her owo

There's nothing wrong with liking them and admitting they are evil af. The problem is whitewashing. I have seen weird arguments for both mentioned characters.
For Rovona: she's right for punishing millions for the actions of 5. The peasants are totally at fault for not stopping the royalties' evil plan. One of the Sinners is a shade and her peer now btw, justice delivered/s.
For Dottore: ackually he experimented on those kids and Collei to save them. He didn't kill that girl there's no evidence it's just heavily hinted he did.
Just say "I like them cause they're hot. Yeah they are evil so what?" and be done with it.

Design-wise. Ronova is wife material, but despite i like villains, i'll wait to see character development before allowing myself to place feelings on her
Perhaps comes down to the difference between cruelty and pure killing. I loathe any actions of cruelty, killing doesn’t make me as angry.
Maybe I get recommended too much waifu biased post, but the difference between her and dottore’s reception is wild. I guess his treatment towards to collei had a bigger impact on them.

You see this phenomenon a lot actually. Because cosmic crimes are on such a grand scale, people tend to not treat them with the level of scorn you'd expect, because most people cant relate to an entity of death cursing an entire population.
Meanwhile experimenting on children is a crime much closer to home, and thus gains a lot more ire. Especially given we personally befriend Dottores victim.
It's a matter of how large humans can perceive scale.
Star Rail has a similar situation in the opposite gender direction. More people hate the council woman Canies, who boils down to basically tbat annoying Karen from the HoA, as opposed to Hoolay, a cannibalistic, rapist, slave owner who slaughtered billions and isn't even the slightest bit remorseful about it.
Caenis is just a generic NPC design so not hot enough, while Hoolay has an audience. Simple really.

I saw a post somewhere saying how come people can forgive vegeta but treat bakugo way worse and there was a pretty profound comment out there saying mass genocide is generally a fantasy thing where you just know its so comically evil it registers to you as "fantasy evil" and thus, not real. Meanwhile, something as small as bullying is something that is very real, and in the case of dottore here so is child abduction. Often murderers in media that get their one murder shown in very explicit detail get more hate than the mass murderers one that you just see get glossed over in like a montage. It's all probably in the details and how much more we can connect our emotions with it.
Of course not saying that's what's happening here, a large part of it is probably just ronova being a cute anime girl but I wanted to type this in here somewhere since I thought it was nice lol

The comics shows you the suffering Collei goes through. Later when we find out that it was Dottore that did it thats when I hated him

Well basically she already had that sickness right? So Dottore fused Collei with god remains to get her 'better' only it wasn't a stable fusion. Anytime her emotions got out of hand stuff around her would get destroyed. Eventually it gets so bad that she withdraws completely not wanting to trust anyone or be trusted by anyone. When she first came to mondstadt it was because she heard there was a way to remove corruption there so she snuck in, only to be treated like she belonged there. This of course triggers her flight or fight instincts making her summon a monster that takes pretty much all the Mondstadt cast to take down. Afterwards Cyno seals the God remains and Collei is taken to Sumeru to live with Tighnari.
But ultimately this all made even worse by the fact that Dottore knew that the fusion wasn't stable, Dottore knew that it literally only prolonged her life by a bit. But he did it anyway because he thought it was interesting.

Collei suffered a lot of things more in line with child abuse that a lot of people can relate to as oppose to the khaenrians who while yes they got it worse...ultimately suffered something we can't truly empathize with.
We just no what happened to khaenriah is bad because it's suppose to the be bad but that's just our surface level feeling on the matter...collei however is more personal

Ronova is Lawful Evil. She does things because it's her job and she believes upholding this job is the creator.
Dottare basically caused a nuclear meltdown because he felt like it.
I like them both, but Dottare seems much worse from what we have seen.
Well the difference is big. Ronova did worst things on her cosmic mission as the embodiment of death but Dottore is a sick man who mistreated a beloved character and practices human experiments
