Ah a martincitopants enjoyer I see, very well. Lettuce begin.
His first FTD video with the tutorial had me rolling
imo the full arc build is so much better(arc thrower + k9 guard dog + blitzer), you can stun lock and kill so many enemies at once per shot.
Every bug in the game smaller than a charger, every illuminate smaller than the fleshmob, all hulks, all striders, all devastators can be stun locked to death.
Chargers and brood/alpha commanders stop charging when hit. For chargers, hitting them with the the arc thrower makes them move at crawling speed.
Harvesters cant shoot their lasers, watchers cannot call for reinforcments, and fleshmobs can be semi stun locked until they start charging.
The damage is there, the horde clearing is there, the insane stagger is there, never overheats, never need to reload.
The zap zap is strong, but I don’t have the K9 yet so I usually only use it on illuminate missions
The k9 guard dogs zap can bounce to 12 enemies, so against the illuminates when the k9 shoots, you can sometimes see a 13 killstreak
The arc thrower can solo an illuminate reinforcement
Question: why both Blitzer and Arc Thrower? Isn't that a bit redundant?
How do you deal with things like bile titans? 500 seems like it's not enough especially if you're solo.
What do you do when you have more than a small group of enemies you can't chain shoot until they die? Just run?
A single 500kg + either thermite or shoot it with the arc thrower a few times.
The arc thrower itself has armour pen 7(6 is heavy armour)
IIRC the arcthrower takes ~20 shots to kill a harvester. Pretty sure it's significantly more to take down a bile titan.
If there's anything else you have to deal with it's kinda a mess. I'm sure the k9 helps a lot though; I'd just maybe take a different support weapon (could even just take the arc grenade launcher to keep it all arc) but sounds like it's working for you. I was just curious how.
Yes, youre not supposed to use arc on the heavy enemies, thats what ur other 2 stratagem slots are for, stuff like 500kg, eat, ate, railcannon, ops, 110mm rocket pods.
But the fact that arc can deal with everything else makes it insanely good.
Even when they are all on cd, if you just shoot the harvester occasionally, it wont be able to fire its laser against u, and you can just run away
I'll have to try it out sometime. Maybe I just supplement it with the ulti.
I usually just rely on gas for CC but maybe going all in on arc makes it more viable than having one thing of it like I've done in the past.
I would recommend splitting up from ur squad and doing the objectives seperately since arc doesn't differentiate, its so strong you really dont need teammates to assist.
I for the bug nests that spawn bile titans, I just use both charges of the 500kg, for chargers I stun then with arc thrower, then throw a thermite while they are stunned
I guess my problem is that on 10s there's just too many chargers, bile titans, and impalers to make running off solo with only three thermites/two 500s/a dream viable.
Not a huge fan of rocket pods or orbital rail either for dealing with those guys. Maybe EAT. Strats being locked into arc/arc backpack/500/another anti-AT is a little rough; especially since the ulti is kinda needed too imo and then there's no grenade pistol for bug holes along with a bad grenade for them compared to gas/fireworks which are at 4/6. Also curious how well it deals with fliers or bile spewers. Bugs just need such a specific loadout when solo.
Could be fun to try out still. Maybe I just do it when people are willing to wear arc armor and play together.
Personally I've run the build on difficulty 10 splitting away from the squad before, it was quite enjoyable bc the squad is the one thats mostly spawning in the enemy reinforcments.
At such high difficulties its not worth it to stand your ground and fight, kill only what's necessary, do the objective, and move on
Well it can work the other way too. They can have almost no spawns and you get all of them.
If I'm doing hit and run I really like gas mines/strike/backpack/grenades.
I think the arc stuff sounds fun though so I'll try it out. Just wondering if there was some extra trick like that 4th slot being a 120mm that you use after piling up a huge amount of enemies including heavies with the arc stagger or something. I assume that doesn't really work but something like that.
Wdym theres no grenade pistol for bug holes? You can absolutely run the full arc build with a grenade pistol
I'm saying that I don't really feel comfortable with that low amount of AT when solo. I'd prefer to take the ulti in that loadout. You absolutely can take the grenade pistol; you're just left with two 500s/three thermites/maybe one more AT strat when there can easily be 10+ tank targets all at once and you can't even guarantee a supply drop since you're playing solo.
I hear rocket pods are considered bad, but when my weapon clears waves of everything else effortlessly, it patches up that one weakness easily.
Yes, rocket pods are exclusively made to target the largest enemy, and nothing else
I like the idea of combining some of this with fire now, let that DOT soak in while they're stunned. 🤔✍️✍️✍️
I would not recommend it lol since bringing fire means even less stratagems against tanks, which is the only thing arc cannot kill
im so happy too see more lascannon propaganda popping up in the helldivers community. it was a goated support weapon in HD1 and still is now, the full las loadout has always been my favorite. why bother with the ammo system? simple as

This is my dumb loadout because I don't intend on surviving. Every reinforce is a hail mary and I amd GETTING that prominent spot on the Wall of Martyrs!
There have been plenty of times where the double edge just doesn’t do enough damage to save me. It’s fantastic on squids and bots, but you really feel that 55 damage when fighting something like 2 stalkers.
Here. Take the Dagger, and the Orbital laser barrage, and now you got beam supremacy.

Same here but on bot side, Lazer just shred everything....if only Lazer dog aim for the head instead of enemy ball sack, but still alright
Piss beam is also great on squids, since most enemies are light and medium armor. Laser cannon melts stingrays and harvesters. And using the dog rover with the scythe it’s very fun against flesh mobs
I use Lazer if I run unlimited ammo build, but auto cannon is faster to kill flashmob, overseer and sting ray
I never use the autocannon, it’s just so…unappealing to me.

Blitzer supremacy! A true infinite ammo weapon! Plus, its a lightning shotgun. A LIGHTNING. SHOTGUN. That's the coolest fucking thing ever.
The piss beam is quite nice too though.
The power of zap zap (what I call using the arc weapons in a loadout) is very strong. You can solo illuminate with nothing but the arc thrower
Liberator concussive + talon + guard dog + LAS-98 is my personal favorite
SES Reign of Gold + Lasdog + Sythe + Las Cannon = R.Kelly build
Full piss beam squad was my groups meta for the last bug MO and it was amazing.

Yeah it's the perfect space control loadout. I can comfortably solo diff 10 bug breaches with it.
My Gas dog with beams has been my jam lately. Fire and gas stacking is fun and effective. For Super Earth.

my fave right now is using arc thrower + k9 guard dog + gatling sentry(for the shriekers mostly but cutting down overwhelming mob does its job pretty well) + orbital napalm(changes depending on mission)
primary: flam-66 torcher
secondary: currently using melee for desperate close encounters lol
throwable: g-142 pyrotech
booster: UAV recon booster (because i wanna know where the enemies are in the map when im running around to avoid getting sandwiched)
How are you making that work? I love the laser loadout, but in my experience, I just get swarmed by heavies I can't kill fast enough.
I use scythe to take down any small enemies like warriors, hunters, scavengers, and other stuff. When I’m about to run out of battery, I switch to the laser cannon to effectively continue what I was doing. Alpha commands die very fast to the laser cannon melts cannon. Chargers take time so it’s do able, but for things like bile titans and especially large swarms, I use gas grenades, a machine gun sentry, and a 500. Cleans up most enemies pretty fast
The scythe is slept on hard. It does the same DPS as the laser cannon, just with lower AP. And now with weapon customization you can put an actual good scope on it and snipe shit from super far away too. You can absolutely chew through hordes of Devastators with it.

Infinite ammo is addictive
Sickle fucking blows ngl. The heat build up is lightning fast and it just doesn’t last long enough to kill more than like 5 enemies.
if nobody is joining you for d10, make sure your matchmaking settings aren't on private. it's the most popular difficulty.
No mine was on public, I threw a sos at the beginning, it’s just because matchmaking on cities fucking sucks
If you are diving solo, consider the K-9.

It went pretty well actually. Lots of chargers, but I mostly killed them with the laser cannon, gas grenade, and a 500 if I was lucky. They are very easy to dodge on city maps due to the buildings
I'm not talking about chargers. It's more about warriors and other small/medium bugs, if I take something without stagger I find myself completely surrounded and dead. Something like shotgun or crossbow really helps to keep them at bay
Why stagger when you can just…kill them? It takes like 1 second from the laser cannon and scythe to kill them, so I don’t see the issue
Because they already charging attack and if I won't stagger them they'll hit me and kill me.
Maybe I should look around more often, but right now I won't start bug mission without shotgun

Like, if you always can snipe them from afar I can see it working, but, like, I go to explode nest, two warriors go out of hole and now I either stagger + kill them or hold laser for second on oje of them while second uninterrupted goes to me and kills me

I love laser cannon but I still think against bike titans(especially multiple) quasar beats it hands down. Takes a bit too long with laser cannon
Most impressive you can solo with this build, great with a teammate. But I just get overrun nonstop as the ttk for impalers/chargers/titans and even broods is just far too high for this to keep me covered. The pocket AT's are nice but only have enough for a few not a BT nest or heavy base. Then you have the issue of what to do for bug holes. Even swapping out for a quasar doesn't help enough. Have yet to find the mix of strats that can properly support this build, solo at least.
i love that in hell divers your either BULLET FIEND, LASER LAD, or SILLY DIVER GO BIG BOOM.
a very, very powerful loadout for just about all fronts.
I frequently run this with the medic armors so I can get 6 stims. It's a bit lacking in the anti-tank department, but you can iron this deficiency out with the ultimatum and some thermites.
Guard dogs are infinitely better than rovers. And since you need ammo refills, using incendiary breaker is also way better than laser rifles. If not Eruptor for basically a long range grenade launcher.
But none of those things are piss lasers
Sometimes people just want to have fun and not use the best possible loadout
I’m all for people having fun. I just died to rovers so many times I hate it with all my strength. I do use quasar canon myself that shoot piss like a canon!
