What about the smg from the odst game
Funny story about the SMG and the ODST relationship to it:
Though it’s most iconic among game fans as an ODST weapon, ODST’s have only used the weapon three times in the entire fiction, including said game. The only other times are in a comic, and a short film.
The Suppressed SMG was first revealed in the wider Halo fiction in Ghosts of Onyx, which released three years before ODST (in 2006 compared to ODST’s 2009) used by Spartan III’s.
All other times over their over twenty year history (ODST’s were a thing before even Halo CE released, but Bungie didn’t like the idea of them at first), aside from the three aforementioned examples, ODST’s have used regular MA5B/C/D (the Halo AR) and BR55 Battle Rifles, but never Suppressed SMG’s.
That’s all to say, it’s interesting how just because it’s visible, it’s suddenly become the iconic weapon, even though that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
And even in ODST, only the Rookie starts with it, right?
Dutch and Mickey also start with it. Romeo starts with a sniper rifle and Buck brings an AR (arguably its worst version).
Even in the intro, one of your team members Romeo scoffs at the SMG.
Which makes sense honestly, it looks awesome but truthfully its s pea shooter

I’d be shocked if a Halo collab doesn’t have this. I’d be quite keen on Marine/Army trooper armour too, but the ODST gear seems almost certain. IMO it wouldn’t even look out of place as an in-universe manufacturer’s equipment even with the original colour scheme, although black and yellow looks great too!
Hasn't AH effectively ruled out a Halo collab a while back, or was that only aimed at the inclusion of a Mjolnir-inspired armour?

This is exactly my thoughts, as an incoming Xbox player I wouldn’t be bothered by some odst crossover but I’d prefer it to be the established Helldivers aesthetic but with aspects inspired by odst vs a straight copy of an odst armor
I think the only thing it needs is some mag pouches. I think it looks weird when some armour doesn’t have any.

I'm extremely biased, but I certainly want something in this regard. I don't know if I'd be onboard with a direct crossover, but something inspired by it would be fantastic.
I say that, as if Helldivers wasn't already the ODST game I never knew I needed. I've noted before, I was dropping from orbit to fight alien enemies, on Earth, specifically Africa, in the dark, in the rain, with fellow soldiers at my side. It's enough for me.

I'd prefer if we just didn't do anymore crossovers at this point. I've made up my mind in that regard. But if we were to get another, a Warbond with ODST from Halo 2 and 3 designs exclusively is what I'd want. Give me the SPNKr with the Halo 3 design and the AR with the CE or 3 design, and maybe the Sniper Rifle (again, classic design) and that would be cool.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. A gun at most as well, maybe lean more into Helldivers with the bottom part of the visor pointing more upward like the default Diver visor, and of course have the circular port on the back of the helmet like most of Helldivers' helmets. But other than that, yeah this is spot on.

I personally don’t care about collabs in Helldivers. HD2 is my favorite video game universe so I don’t need a different video game universe getting involved to get me excited.
Super earth is in the future , halo franchise canonically could have existed within its past. Thus, its plausible anything could inspire hell diver armour.

If I got to have it my way we'd have a medium ODST armor that looks like the standard armor, light armor based on the Romeo's armor from Halo 3 ODST (I want that helmet) and then a heavy one for Dutch I think

Nice work! Definitely would rather this over a straight copy/paste of stuff if they do a collaboration. I think it's just a lot more interesting to see how the designers would translate something from one game to another, making it fit the established style of the setting while still keeping it recognizable to the source material. Plus it just helps the game maintain a strong and consistent visual identity long term compared to something like modern CoD.

Sweet god, yes. The timing since the last Warbond could coincide pretty well, and a publishing deal like this would've had to be in the work for ages, soooo... Not to sniff the Hopium too much, but they would be absolutely crazy not to.

I agree with you but my guess as to why is that a sizeable amount of people dislike the toll on your stamina you have when wearing it, I don’t know if that’s actually the case since I mostly use light armour but yeah it is kinda left out sometimes
That's exactly the case. Stamina consumption with heavy armor is pretty insane. Your sprinting speed is slower too.
Unfortunately for Heavy armor, lower speed and stamina for higher HP does little when you are losing HP from not having enough speed and stamina...
Very good for the Arena Elimination / VIP extraction missions tho.
Yeah surviveability is speed*hp so most time people either use medium armour or light armor with the shield.
They forgot to adjust it for the increased damage we take now during the 60 day patch. So heavy armor ironically is even more crippled. You still crumple like paper with 150 armor.
Stamina should be at 75.
Just like light armor is 125 and not 150.

Speed doesnt matter when my enemies use f--king laser guns and rocket launchers
I’m a big fan of heavy for bots. I pair it with the riot shield and it actually blocks fire when it’s on your back while tactically repositioning. And then the added armor helps with the shots that hit your arms and legs around the shield. I’ve also tanked super turret shots with a shield and heavy armor. Ragdolled. But lived
Perhaps AH should give heavy armour some more benefits, then. Make heavy worth the penalties.
Make the bugs go "ouch" as they hurt their teeth on the armour plating
Because why make yourself able to tank one more hit VS making yourself not able to be hit. Light armor makes you harder to hit.
Heavy armor is noticeably stronger against bot missions, super helldive I’ve been saved more than once from getting shot or exploded by ranged enemies. Utterly useless against bugs though
This is me with light armour and a jet pack, having basically no armour isn’t a disadvantage when you can’t be hit >:)
Heavy armor really needs to be a tank class, make it SLOW but make it able to tank like 5 more hits or get something powerful but not very mobile. Like siege ready on heavy armor increases effect by 100% Instead of 20% like normal for light armor.
Better yet, make the armor perk scale in effectiveness with armor level. Light armor gets a small bonus at the trade off of mobility and stamina usage/dive distance. Medium is the baseline. And heavy gets either 50% more effect or an entire bonus perk in addition.
This is an absolute misrepresentation of how Heavy Armor plays, and I'm saying that having mained Light for most of the lifetime of the game and only recently switching to Heavy
That one hit is a difference between being one-shot by the combos this subreddit likes complaining about, and... just not. It's being able to survive certain things that are one-hit in Light. It's surviving way more chip damage from explosives and light attacks without sacrificing your back slot for a shield bubble. Being slower also barely matters, because you're still fast enough to dodge most enemies, while those you aren't able to dodge are faster than Light Armor anyways.
I don't like heavy because I feel like trading mobility to withstand one or two more hits is really not worth it.

My issue with the heavy armour (despite it being my go to) is the physics. Charger? Sure, knock my ass around.
But a brood commander should not stagger someone who is a literal block of armour.
It feels forgotten because it is. And that is because of simple gameplay mechanics.
On all difficulties, against all factions, enemies will swarm a maximum of four people.
Because enemies will swarm, and can kill in only a few hits, even with heavy armor, players are heavily incentivized (practically required) to keep moving.
As such, any gear that dramatically slows movement or drains stamina puts players at a significant disadvantage compared to gear that does not.
Heavy armor only becomes desirable on missions sets that don’t allow you to move particularly far.
Heavy armor needs another few hundred health, ragdoll resist, impact damage resist, and flinch resist across the board.
Odst already had heavy armor.

Meh. Has the same issues a lot of 343-made armours have: looks too toyish and plasticy. Too clean. Too super-heroy/video-gameish. There's little grit to them, unlike Bungie's designs.
I went and looked up the current page for the ODST battle dress, and yikes. How did this pass the QC check?
The way up-armoured/heavy ODST armour was done on Bungie's designs, and what the fandom did based off those designs, blows anything 343 did out of the water.
These designs 343 came up with, are bloat to feed the season/warbond system. I consider them non-canonical as they're just there for video game profit.
Maybe it could come with the H2 odst helmet
while great, would feel very dumb for ODST's who are rapid response/special forces. plus any heavier and you push into spartan territory, which both helldivers and ODST are very much not super soldiers. just the absolute peak of baseline humanity.
