Idk if anything was changed with these hps, but I can reliably destroy a detector tower at 45m away while the 500kg feels more random/needs to be more precise when throwing it to break.
that's not really bc of the hp, but bc of the FUCKING BOUNCY FLOOR AROUND THE JAMMER'S TOWER.
with the detector it's so easy bc of the trajectory of the 500 k bomb's flight, at least for me

The bomb always comes from behind you (unless it is blocked by a cliff or something) so you can go up to the tower, turn around, throw it at your feet and just book it. The bomb itself will usually kill it before exploding
I like it, but when the instructions literally include "Bethesda dive glitch", you know you're tryin to hit different.
I mean, I get why, though. Just like in Skyrim, where you can glitch up on any steep hill with a horse, in Helldivers, you can front dive up on steep hills, instead of going around. Any hillside that is NOT vertical (so would you fall down instead of sliding down), you slide down less in between dives, then how much a dive moves you up. So spam-diving absolutely works.

Once upon a time the detector had those crazy bouncy floor, that was like a year ago.
It still sometimes does it, always a riot when the strat ball starts bouncing and sticks itself to your squadmates’s shield

Yeah it seems the detector tower can be hit basically anywhere but the jammer needs a particular part to get hit which often isn’t in the right part of the weird upward cone of damage produced by the 500. That’s why it feels inconsistent
Toss it or the OPS strike in the gap between the terminal and the structure( if it spawned this way ), the stratagem balls sticks in there and it guarantees it everytime. I've yet to miss it this way after deactivating the tower.

Can't anymore though, which saddens me, because I loved walking up behind a stratagem jammer popping it with the ultimatum.
Sometimes it takes 2 500KG. Someone said the force is an upward cone shape so I guess you need to nail the unit or directly next to it. I also would like the concept of it having a health system for these units. That way high explosives can shine in their potential to destroy structures. Won’t 1 tap but after enough high explosives it depletes the health of the jammer/detector tower.

I miss the days when the fabricator next to the jammer could destroy the jammer.
When the airburst first came out it one shot the fabricators so i just shot a couple behind the jammer if i didnt see one and most of the time it worked
I honestly would prefer the challenge of actually having to disable it rather than using the ultimatum or destroying a fabricator next to it. All it did was trivialize the objective
I understood how the community feels here. Luckily there are still ways to do it without even deactivating it. Getting an enemy to destroy it, portable hellbomb, mini nuke from the SEAF Artillery.
I've knocked out a jammer once with an HE shell
You dont even need a seaf nuke, high explo and regular explosives also do it. Seaf nuke is only required to break gunship spawners of the standard objective roster
Napalm and smoke can also kill it provided the shell hits the jammer
Walking barrage can do it too if you throw it exactly at the fringe.
Honestly, I'm fine with that, as it's by far the worst objective in the game. And it can be REALLY damn annoying when multiple overlap.
No objective should just outright disable all stratagems. Scrambling the arrows, like the cognitive tower on the illuminate front, is fine. Disabling specific ones, like the AA cannon, is also fine. Jammers are just bullshit.
The 500kg blast radius is an upward cone. Of course you’re going to hit a tower more consistently than a low structure on a hill. Try landing it closer, cause the 500 definitely drops jammers. I don’t know what else to say
The issue I often have is just the stratagem ball bouncing too far away for the blast to destroy it (if I'm tossing from outside the fort). This is usually with SEAF shells, mind. Definitely can, though.
This is the main issue. They need to make it so the strategem ball only bounces off of vertical surfaces, not flat ones. So many times I try to throw a turret down on the edge of a wall and the stupid thing just bounces down into the abyss.

The upward cone blast is news to me. Thought it was a spherical blast. Eh either way it’s not that big of a deal. They all end up scrapped at the end of the day
It is spherical, but the bomb projectile typically deforms the terrain where it lands with a small crater, which causes additional rays cast from the base of the explosion to be occluded
That's how it works in real life and the game attempts to recreate that, however it doesn't do a real time simulation and instead always explodes upwards

The explosion has a 10m radius for full damage and a 25m outer radius. Damage trails off linearly between 10m and 25m. These figures were provided in previous patch notes and can be tested in-game.
Drop a 500kg on a flat, indestructible surface, such as a landing pad or concrete sidewalk in a town/city (*not* a road, which can be deformed). Stand at 24m and you'll consistently be hit by the explosion.

This is true, but last night I literally got the ball directly in the terminal on the jammer and clipping into the base of the jammer itself and the 500KG missed because of hill geometry 🥲 even the best laid plans may go awry
If you just use artillery instead you wouldn't have this problem
One good mini nuke and bye bye. My #1 go to side objective for the Illuminate’s Free Colony Mission. Why go through all that smoke just to destroy a monolith tower? One yeet and my day is done.
the illuminate tower is different, in that it actually needs a hellbomb-tier (Demo 60) explosive to kill.
Mini nuke is essentially a hellbomb though, just look at the size of the explosion, it's the same as the hellbomb and the wiki says so.
You used to be able to blow them up by destroying the bot factory that was built in it but that no longer works which sucks

In all seriousness why is the laser only a 3 use stratagem? I don’t think it’s that OP compared to the barrages.
I honestly think the laser is actively worse compared to the Napalm Barrage or even the Gatling barrage. Being capped at three uses per mission is SO limiting unless you're doing a blitz.
The cooldown time makes it impractical for blitz too. Its main utility is that you can somewhat safely call it right in front of your face to save your ass from a very hairy situation

The ultimatum felt so powerful. Hated how it could only kill a BT if it hits the head despite destroying a whole hammer.
I feel the pain even more when you have two overlappnig jammers. I mean I enjoy the Talon as a secondary, but it doesn't quite fill that Ultimatum shaped hole in my heart.
Also, the ultimatum can't one shot the rogue laboratory and jammers anymore which is suck

Check the comments, the 500kg does destroy a stratagem jammer. The only problem is needing to deactivate it so you can call down a stratagem. At that point, might as well use the hell bomb if you’re not being pressured by enemies.
It's only 50 demo force needed. 500kg totally kills them, although the hitbox can sometimes be a bit finicky. Heck, you can technically use the orbital laser, but since it won't target the tower, that's a real skill shot.

500KG can destroy jammers. It has to be close to the terminal because of the radius being an upward cone-shaped explosion

Yes! It will call in infinite bot drops on you when it sees you.
You can use 500, I think eagle air strike works, and my favorite is the 110 barrage

throw closer to the base of the tower or use orbital 120/380/precision/laser/walking barrage instead. if the 500kg bomb nails the top half the tower, it'll blow up without doing anything.
Wait, can the air strikes destroy it? I am not a huge fan of the 500kg but love airstrikes, but sometimes the game just throw you without a hellbomb stratagem on a map with one or even more eyes of sauron, and that is quite lame :/
Get an Orbital Precision Strike next to it and it's done for. I usually don't even go into the base and just throw it over the wall from the backside of the base.
i usually kill the factory right beside the jammer to kill it.

Honestly I love the insanity of having to go up to a Detector tower and dropping a Hellbomb all while there are hordes of dropships streaming towards you. I would prefer a Detector tower to be only killable via Hellbomb.
Wait u can't destroy jammer with 500k? I'm already 1k+ hours and didn't know about this. Usually I'm using OPS or seaf arty
It’s very finicky right now. Lot of nuances when using the 500KG. IMO they should just make it behave spherical and stop whatever is making the blast prioritize upwards. I got the bomb to land right in front of the terminal of the jammer twice and it won’t break it. I think you have to make the bomb itself hit it or land on the roof
Technically, you can. In actual practice, the stratagem ball often bounces out of place and the hill the thing is on then prevents the blast from destroying it. And since you can't call-in a 500kg without going into the base to disable it first anyway, most people don't want to bother.
Seaf rounds also wreck at direct hits

I like OPS more, it hits both of these more consistently.
If you’re in a pinch, a factory strider’s top cannon / annihilator tank’s main cannon 1-shots a jammer even when it’s still active
I sometimes manage to get a scout strider to destroy it. It’s rare as hell; you gotta let it hit the right spot
I’ve never managed to do that, which is surprising seeing how goddamn many ‘funni rocket’ striders spawn on 8+
It could be from a barrager tank that I didn’t see but I’ve seen those rockets destroy the jammer if it hits it just right
funni rocket striders is definitely what I think of when I see the launch animation is pointed at me. Every time.
I had a mission once were my whole team went down under an area with 3 jammers, i disabled one before they died, and the next 2 i was helped by a factory strider.
Also, meteorites. Yesterday a jammer's console was bugged and unitneractable, which blocked the SSSD call-in on the main objective. A teammate was trying to get a stationary turret to shoot at it, but we were too far for it to fire. I was like, "well, we're fucked unless a meteorite hits it". Literally like 20 second later, a meteorite destroys the fucking thing.
Can confirm tanks destroy Jammers. One of them spawned on the side of a heavy fab and destroyed the Jammer.
Also as a side note, tanks can spawn on the side of a heavy fab near the top, camp there, and snipe at targets.
