As far as I can tell, it only crashes if you click a weapon customization and then don't hit apply. If you go straight to the weapon skins or apply any weapon changes, you're fine.
I thought it was just me lol
Yeah, I haven't touched that section in a week or so due to me crashing on PC
Trust me, it isn't just console having that issue. It has a 50/50 chance of happening to me on PC if I go into the pattern menu.
PC as well. I get that bug. Hell, I can get that bug trying to change my attachments.
My PC crashes during this, too
For me it only crashed after a mission.
This! This right here lol I started using the Las scythe and crossbow, now if I try to change from this my game crashes lol so im stuck here for now!
Still crashes on pc everytime too so I just use mods for skins now
Haven't had that with the camos buts its a 50/50 everytime I close the DSS menu

It took me so damn long to switch it off the bright ass white one. I give up on changing camos

Going off other comments it seems its a PC issue too. Sometimes I feel like I'm only person who has never encountered a single game breaking bug or suffered a single crash due to said bug. Really it sucks to see soo many people affected. I have no clue what I'm doing differently. My PC specs aren't anything wild either.
The worst part is it’s inconsistent. Sometimes you can change it, other times your game will crash.
PC too - every other time I change the pattern it does crash my PC
As a fellow PC crasher, try waiting a second, mouse over no weapon options, then tab over to skins. It's worked fairly consistently but I do still get some immediate crashes. Also never change your load out while in the customization screen that kills it every time lol
Nothing crashed for me changing weapon customization for a couple weeks, then it started again
