I remember them hitting you from 3 km away because someone on your team got the debuff on lol, those times where it would interrupt your sprint if someone stims
omg. The team sprint run interruptor was wild. That bug had everyone gaslit to Jupiter and back.
Dude all the acid would literally on sight be spewing out in the other direction and my diver somehow got hit by it. Like is the hit box bigger than what’s visually shown?
I feel like the data for where the acid "hits" and where it visually hits are not one and the same.

Muscle enhancement near-completely negates the slow. I don't see a reason to take shocks, especially since it reduces the stun duration on enemies too.
The more I play this game the more I find myself calling the devs amateurs. The bugs and oversights in this game is just astounding. They can't fix them because it'd just break the Spear lock on for the 16th time.

It may nearly negate the effect but it still lasts as long and slows you down. I use both of them almost every time i play and motivational shocks feels way better to use imo.
What i use mostly depends on the enviroment im playing on and if i find it more annoying to be stuck in mud or the acid. Also depends on what teammates take.
Motivational shocks actually reduces stun duration for the enemies as well

Both are easy when you play them enough. A bot diver struggles with bugs and a bug diver struggles with bots. Because they require different playstyles!
I haven’t played a bot mission since the night we defended super earth. Yet despite that I still consistently almost run out of reinforcements more on bugs than I do on bots.
Try bringing as much gas as you can hold (backpack/nades/strike/mines) and fully disengage when shit is fucked. That along with a pushback weapon like the cookout if it's pred strain and you're good to go.
Yeah I bring dog breath with me almost every mission as well as the strikes and while it’s good for the little guys I rarely kill anything larger than a spewer. And I religiously refuse to use any other primary apart from the cookout on any bug mission.
Yeah it’s not really for killing medium/big things it’s just for CC in general but the most useful part is when you see something you can’t deal with you drop a gas strat and book it to a different objective leaving them all behind instead of trailing them all with you.
bugs just run up on you and there is a thin line between managing the swarm to getting flooded. throw a couple BTs or the tenticle face dicks and its a real good recipe for getting demolished
Tell it to me. I have already got more than 500k kills from each faction. I struggle with only sneaky fucking bastard predator hunter, otherwise, I am one man army 🪖
I think that while bugs require fancy footwork and keeping distance, bots require more settup and careful positioning. However, because bots have ranged attacks on all units, it means a good bit of the damage is entirely unavoidable. Meanwhile, bugs more thoroughly punish the small slipups, so they make up for the fact that their damage is less guaranteed.

Honestly? Since the Rocket Devastator, Gunship, and ragdoll nerfs, I could believe Automatons are easier than bugs.
I will claim, without much evidence, that bots have been nerfed more than bugs. Alternatively, bot nerfs have hit harder than bug nerfs.
Bugs have received fewer but more impactful nerfs (armor crippling all heavy staying power for example, hunter jump cooldown)
Bots have gone under death by a thousand cuts (dmg dealt per shot, accuracy, limiting rockets, durability, armor, suppression, spawnrates, fabricator sniping)
This is why muscle booster is vital on bugs.
It's nice but stims are still solid and if someone in your squad picks sample finder or something the big 3 are still huge to grab.
Muscle booster is absolutely a must on certain biomes though and being good vs bugs is a big plus.
They also frequently one shot you through medium armour.
Pummeler was keeping them at bay long enough. Any weapon that creates space works well against the predator strain.
Ballistic shield is my got to for predator strain. Leave it on your back and they can't slow you down when you run.
The Pummeler then comes in, for when you turn the table on the bugs.
I just realized now I don’t know how I ever liked this front.
Maybe it’s just cause I’m focused in combat on the direct threat or I’m deaf, but there’s always a warrior or hive guard off screen away from the hoard I just mag dumped into ready to give me a three piece deluxe with a free trip to Jesus F. Christ.
I think that because im a light pen enjoyer and i just spray the little shits with my primary. I also use motivational shocks so i recover from their tentacle attack faster
From what I know, Muscle enhancement (Or WHATEVER it's called) has the same recovery and is better all around. I think they buffed it and now motivational shocks are basically just a worse version of the muscle enhancement booster. Could be changed tho!
Not from what ive noticed. I mean i use both almost every time i play. On paper things look different than in actual gameplay. You might be thinking about flinch.

Shocks also buffs all enemy bugs to recover from stun faster btw
So they say but unless you or a teammate use stun builds it doesnt really matter also usually people keep spamming stun on enemies too so it doesnt really matter because of that either.

Blitzer goes zap zap
Yes, it does, but it “zap zaps” anything else but the little white piece of shit in my face.
Always aim the blitzer directly above the target so the cone doesn't hit rocks or dead bugs and is more accurate in general
Also, hipfire it. Aiming slows you down and you don't need to aim with it

One of my favorite enemies in the terminid faction, its really cool how this little guy is so dangerous if you don't deal with him quickly. And yeah I also think they are harder currently, the automaton nerfs were brutal.
Predator strain is quite violent
It is really weird to me how much power Hunters get compared to the other mob bugs. As brutal as their slow attacks are, I think it makes a lot of sense that the fast skirmisher type bugs have them—it sets up the slower, stronger bugs in the horde.
But then why do they also get a pounce attack that cheats movement (seriously, try to time a jump pack burst with them launching the pounce attack, you’ll see them basically teleport to you and whiplash by you)? Why do they get a 3-hit combo kill that staggers you out of any action? Why do they get a fucking invisible variant that also ignores the team cooldown on the pounce attack, allowing them all to try to 3-hit combo kill you in succession? And why does said invisible super combo variant ALSO get to be FASTER than even the fastest armor AND ADD RANGE TO THE SLOW ATTACK?
Meanwhile Warriors are over here like “uh, yea, if you shoot me in the head and stand totally still for 2 seconds, I can maybe try to combo kill you!”
AH really ought to redistribute the wealth here. I would tone down Hunters’ lethality and make them fragile harassment units that excel at slowing you down (both directly with acid attacks and indirectly by chasing you down so you have to stop and kill them). Leave the actual lethality to the slower bugs they’re enabling.
I despise the whole faction.
They are the sole reason, I prefer fighting bots.
That's funny because it implies hunters need to actually hit you to apply the slowdown effect.
I would instantly buy a warbond with an armor that nullified or atleast didnt slow you as much from stun abilities like the bug acid or natural stuns.

As a Botdiver, you're 100% right.
Bots feel infinitely more manageable than Bugs which is why (imo) they're WAY more fun to Dive on.
I don't like the play style the bots push me into, I prefer the chaos.
