Im assuming it is some sort of insulation. It is only right outside sunroom and also some inside. Any ideas? Does it need tested for asbestos?

Or getting stucco done

My yard was full of stuff that looked exactly like this when my neighbor was having stucco done.

Do you have foam insulation in your sunroom? Could be some type of insect chewing it up!

This was my thought. Some sunroom paneling kits are insulated with this stuff. Either breaking down or animal/bugs borrowing thru it.

Or rodents (squirrels/rats)

Honeybees will chew it up for sure.

That looks like insulation. You probably have ants nesting somewhere. This happens a lot with garage doors. Worth a look.

We had acrobat ants eating the insulation around our sunroom and it looked like that.

This. Some of my plants were completely covered. I didn't pay much attention to them and they were gone a few days after. I think because of the rain. OP, could try to hose it off.

My neighbor is putting styrofoam outside their brick house (insulation) and then some kind of flat stucco overtop. There are little styrofoam balls all over the neighbourhood (1 block in each direction) and they’re lining the edges of lawns, puddles, and stuck in spider webs. It’s a mess and I’m convinced this shouldn’t be legal.

It looks exactly like this.

It looks like plastic shavings from someone cutting vinyl soffit or siding. If they were doing that on a windy day, those particles are light enough to get blown a fair distance. If you have any exterior ventilation in your sunroom (like an AC unit) or even a partially open window it could have gotten in that way. Asbestos would look more like fibers than chips/fragments. I would just use a good shop vac to clean it all up and then keep an eye out for it. If this is the first time you've seen it and it doesn't happen again, it's likely just some drift from a nearby construction project or something similar. If it comes back, you may need to dig deeper as to the source.

I have the exact same situation. I'm even seeing inside my garage.. Best thing I can think is its ants boring into the drywall.

Put down some boric acid along the perimeter of your home and near windowsills and cracks/crevices. You can get it at the hardware store. This will keep ants away. You can also use clove oil.

Does you sunroom have an aluminum roof? Like a screened patio would? I have a screened patio and would find small piles of stuff like this and wondered what it was. until I found out I had ants slowly removing the insulation material from the roof to make room to move in.

Is your dryer's vent somewhere near there?

Legitimate-Hope9606 OP

Yes it’s right behind the grill. Doesn’t seem like lint though

Maybe something was in a pants pocket and it got shredded in the dryer and sent out the vent?

Does this look like something that could have come off of any nearby trees or shrubs?
