I just moved into this newly renovated apartment - the kitchen cabinets have seem to be installed a little.. lopsided. The beginning on the right side is attached to the ceiling. And the end of the left side is not. Do you feel this leaves an unsafe weight distribution? Something to bring up to the landlord? The contractor messed up several things that need to be corrected- is this another thing to add to the list saftey wise? I have a baby and im wondering if the unevenness is concern for it falling. Thank you
All i see is the crack in the 3rd pic. But stick a level on it and see. I think it's your ceiling.
Cabinets are probably no concern as long as they were properly secured to the wall, but that ceiling sag would concern me, especially if there is another apartment above there.
Unlikely to be a safety concern. Or rather, being hung level or unlevel doesn't change the safety rating here, they're either secured properly to the vertical joists in the wall or they're not.
Also are you 100% sure that your ceiling is level? Seems more likely to me that the cabinets were installed level, but just at the highest point possible on a sloped ceiling, as opposed to the contractor getting the entire cabinet system so wrong. You would likely have issues with the doors if the cabinet system was this angled.
EDIT: the range hood looks quite level as well. These could just be bad pics but I'm thinking more and more that the ceiling is the culprit here not the cabinet install.
Possible the ceiling is unlevel! I appreciate your response! Puts things at ease
I live in a century home - - nothing is level here anymore 😂, I can spot it from a mile away now. No problem.
I feel that. The contractor i hired last year said my door, apparently, isn't square, and that's why he had trouble installing the new one.
Maybe he should try installing a rectangular door, those are more common
