So we just bought a condo 3rd story 1994 building really well taken care off. The living area will get really hot like 30 plus on 30 plus days and even today its 27 even though its 18 outside. I'm sure its to do with cooking and like dishwasher and laundry but how do I navigate this, like we have to do laundry and cook so idk what to do. We open all the windows have fans going 24/7. The other rooms (2 bedrooms are perfectly fine)
We put a uv tint on the windows and blinds which really helped cause we had a door with a giant window in the kickten that would act like a insulator. Also the old tenant left the pilot light on so there was just a little flame 24/7 which can add a couple degrees we turned that off as well
But its retaining heat it never goes away even tho we open both doors and all windows. I feel like it should be cooling down a little with the outside temp being 18 and all.
About 850 sqft
The issue most likely is that your windows are shot, the sealing is gone and they now longer insulate so now you live in a greenhouse.
You can see if your building can reseal the windows but ultimately this is going to continue until they replace the windows.
A bandaid fix would be getting a clear window insulation kit (usually used in the winter time) and cover any windows which don't open.
Just a question how does insulating a window fix the issue? Cause the other 2 rooms are perfectly fine so i dont understand
The windows seem pretty new. The issue is they are awning windows i read i need to get a fan that blows oustise air in and inside air out but idk now to get a fan for a fucking awning window.
