There is an electrical outlet on the mantel above my fireplace where trim was installed in a way that partially blocks the outlet. I want to put a lamp on the mantel, but the plug won't go all the way in. Someone just cut the outlet cover in half to make it fit, but that doesn't let plugs go in all the way. What tool or method would you recommend I use to cut part of this trim away so I can use the outlet safely?
Move the outlet?
Yes, dang it, move the outlet.
Use an oscillating tool and cut off the trim
Get a decent brand. They are extremely handy for diy projects
Love my Milwaukee M12 Multitool! Didn’t even know what one really was when I first got it (it was part of a bundle). I do wish I had the brushless, toolless model though.
After i used it once I can find a use for it on nearly every project I’m doing on the house. Junction boxes? No problem. Nail sticking out of a spot you can’t get a hammer? Buzz it right off!
This comment is not an ad I swear 😂 I just love the damn thing.
