Melusines are cool but in Genshin Impact you get a death sentence for far lesser than what Fraudottir did. In fact it would be absolutely crazy if nothing bad happens to Fraudottir by the end of Genshin plot.

Ruan Mei isnt really "evil" though, she just doesn't even have the most basic understanding of human emotion and compassion. Incredibly apathetic and views everything through the lens of scientist and experiment. But shes slowly getting there

Well she has to drug us because otherwise we might go around telling people how there was a giant bug in the basement, and then the people would get scared and angry and start asking questions like ‘why was there a giant bug in the basement?’ and ‘what the hell is wrong with you?’ and things would get really awkward and people would try to tell Ruan Mei what she is and isn’t allowed to do which is really inconvenient, so its best if just nobody knows there was a giant bug in the basement. Or that Ruan Mei was ever there at all.

Actually how is Ruan Mei evil? She made like one really big bug and saved Fugue’s life.
Amoral is a better term, and the Fugue thing was just to pay off Luocha for something, not out of the kindness of her heart.
Even if it was just to finish a contract the good was done Fugue was saved the selfish reason doesn’t change that.
Yes, it's a good deed, but the context makes it so it isn't Ruan Mei's goodness. It's Luocha's (assuming he did it out of the goodness of his heart which is unlikely). Ruan Mei just did what she was paid to do.
Hence we don't see any improvement in her moral character.

She also drugs us to force us to work with her before even just negotiating with us, performs various horrible experiments on living things, creates countless lifeforms before abandoning them when they don't meet her expectations, among other things.
Her work with Fugue was just some sort of contract she had, and she more or less tossed her out once she was healed.
As another commenter said, she's not "evil" per say, but she has a distinct lack of any moral compass.
She didn't toss Fugue out. She made sure she was stable and gave her basically a regiment to follow to remain...well "healthy." Well about as healthy as one can be while being tormented by a mark of Destruction.

This is such a non-issue idk why people keep bringing it up. We recreate viruses and bacterias capable of ending civilizations (if unchecked) all the time in labs to study them. Should we stop doing it cause "muh destruction"? Should we also stop studying history cause it covers genocides?

To be fair, for people in HSR, planets are like countries at max and the galaxies/universe is their equivalent of what we see as world. so a virus or bacteria than can kill the whole population irl would be translated into something that can affect several planets in hsr

That’s entirely different. No pathogen in the world is even close to the virulence and lethality needed to end civilization, and pathogens are fairly easy to restrict once transmission is understood. Research into pathogens is highly controlled and regulated.
The Starcrusher swarm bug is an Emanator of a universe-wide threat that took multiple gods to suppress. The Starcrusher alone can easily destroy entire star systems. The scale of potential devastation is entirely different, and Ruan Mei had basically no safety checks in place to keep it under control other than vague assurances that she would step in, which isn’t reassuring when her research area was crawling with other escaped bugs and her abandoned creations. Ruan Mei also says she was actively hoping it would exceed her expectations, which means she conducted the experiment hoping it might go out of control.

I think they’re saying that the bug is an Emanator of an Aeon(Tazzy) that took several Aeons to take down, not that the emanator itself was a multi-Aeon level threat. Understandable tho if English isn’t your first language.
I think the point they’re trying to make is that if it took multiple aeons to take down Tazzy, it would probably take multiple emanators of different paths to defeat the Starcrusher if it was in it’s complete form. I don’t really agree with that tho, since the strength of emanators are very inconsistent.
I disagree that there was no “danger,” even with The Herta around as she had no idea what Ruan Mei was cooking up down in the station and would most likely have no countermeasures prepared for such an event.
Neither Screwllum or Ruan Mei are emanators so I don’t think they would be that impactful in restraining the Bug. It’s stated that battles between Emanator are cataclysmic events, so unless a couple more Emanators decided to drop in and help jump the bug while trying their utmost to prevent collateral damage, chances are that the majority of the station will be wrecked, with most of the people working there dead.
i understand the comment enough and it is why I pointed the stupidity in it. rm isnt resurrecting an aeon there. she is resurrecting an emanator. why would you pointlessly bring the aeon in there? slippery slope much? I am not gonna bother arguing the misinformation around the multiple aeons cuz the reality is, all it took was qlipoth swinging their hammer to seal tazzy.

It played in a lighthearted way but reality is she just create watever she likes and her creations has free will and mind of their own and if she does not like what she created she just discard it, we literally have event solely dedicated to taking care of her creations because she could not be assed to care.
She created emanator of propagation and was hoping for it to be more succesfull therefore survive those seconds it was alive, and her "stepping in" if something goes wrong ring hollow, that girl is not some emanator and her being genius sociaety member is irrelevant, she would just get crushed if that thing was perfect and not died almost immidietly, the fact that dr Ratio was there as precation is not even on her since its not like she summoned him, i have more faith in him then her to help in case of emergency like that atleast.
She is not maliciously evil but by any definition she still is uncaring and careless individual that create chaotic situation that go out of control and can harm other individuals, the fact that she did all those experiments at her friends lab while there are hundreds of innocent people that work there and have no idea they are in danger is kinda wild.
