Hello. Stop reading after this comment. This is the last comment worth reading in this thread. Don't get ragebaited by the perpetually angry and eternally unemployed. Enjoy your day. Call your parents.
My parents are dead and even I'm not as miserable as this lot.
People help animal sanctuaries. I upvote. Simple as.
Yo it's crazy. Bitter people just really hate seeing people doing good things.
surely people are spreading joy and positivity around the topic of charitable donations
Thanks for saving me the headache. Lol ♥️
That wasn't too bad, looks like the mods ripped the 50 cal on most of of the weirdos.
I had to scroll quite a bit to find hate comments. You used the top comment spot to highlight the minority of haters. You could’ve just not given them that attention that they want
Now i had to look
Thanks
Stop donating to well off people, make well off people donate to their friends. W for valk
FYI: you can check Alveus tax return since they are a nonprofit: https://projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/861772907
Here’s one from their website: https://www.alveussanctuary.org/about/annual-reports/2023
852k in a year is around 71k per month. With the number of animals they have plus staff and I would hope paying them well I wouldn't exactly say they're swimming in money. Esp with the scale of damage to the property. I'm sure it's profitable, but I'm not gonna scream into the void about an animal shelter making money for once when most sink into the ether due to lack of any kind of community support
The fucking UPS store I worked at for 7 years in Santa Cruz, CA made more money in a year and they were able to pocket it too while paying us dogshit wages. I'd sooner scream at rich fucks like that then an animal sanctuary
I mean its right there no? There are salary expanses. So net income of 300k is actually something they can invest no? Which for sancutary that wants to keep growing is healthy amount to build new enclosures, maybe hire another person... etc...
They did just hire another person last week, plus they're building 5 bird of prey enclosures, plus they're purchasing additional land in order to build the breeding and release facilities. People are just mad that a non-profit has net profit, not realizing there are rules around reporting where that cash is kept on hand and what planned investments will be made with it into future projects. But yeah, can't count on unemployed redditors to understand I guess
71k per month for that size of a rescue is not much at all with those expenses I imagine is a lot
Are you insane? 99% of sanctuaries could only dream of this kind of support.
do you even understand how much the costs are?? doesnt matter the support, the costs for that are very high
Yes, you can see their tax reports in this very thread. 2024 has still not been released at the time of them asking for additional donations now, unfortunately. They have an insane surplus.
youre complaining about asking about donations when they just exprienced an insane flood, youre the worst
[deleted]
The year before 600k net, the year after that, nearly 300k, I don’t agree with them either but parsing numbers to prove a point isn’t right. It’s reinvested and it’s a non profit, not a ‘not for profit’.
Its simply accouting cash vs accrual basis. A lot of the money raised goes into capital projects e.g. building enclosures.
Say you fundraise to build a $100k enclosure and its expected to last for 10 years.
Year 1
Fundraising Income +100k and Cash + 100k
Building Asset +100k and cash -100k
Depreciation (100k asset divided by 10 years) -10k asset value and +10k expense
So in year 1 despite spending the 100k cash on the build you recognise 90k net income. Its often referred to as capitalisation.
The "profits" you see particularly in the first years are part of the capital raise to get alveus built and started.
Replying to you because he deleted sorry. You are braindead, Alveus is worth millions. This was 2 years ago, 1m in assets she owns it. They grew a lot since then. Not sure is properties are included in the assets listed here probably not. It is a lot.
Non-profits don't have owners in the traditional sense. Maya is the founder and she runs it, but none of the assets or money Alveus has belong to her.
Alveus costs an absolute fortune to run. All the money they've made in the last couple of days probably wouldn't even be enough to keep them running for a year, and they're planning to use all this money to expand more anyway, so that's just going to add even more to their ongoing costs. You can't fault any charity/non-profit that puts all their donations towards expanding their operations. It just means that they will always need donations, as much as possible.
Yeah, he had the right overall point, but trying to say it can barely operate because of one year is just lying to prove a point. It’s massively successful, but that is a very very good thing, she’s taking a space that funds people for being morons, and informs and improves the US and beyond.
Netting over 30% is pretty good, happy for her
Do they have to provide public info on who donates? Asking before I donate.
I think only political entities have to disclose that no?
wow thats like 1 hour of mecha break for her
god damn it i picked the wrong stats at birth
You have to go all-in one direction, balance is a weakness.
I hope it goes higher
LSF making even the most wholesome of posts into a hatethread, classic LSF.
This subreddit has become a Destiny and H3 orbiter cesspool mixed with some Asmongold veiwers who just don't want to admit to being his viewers.
We'd probably be better off with it not existing at this point.
The pirate situation truly was our version of covid.
The sub truly lost it's mind then and never got it back.
aren't you missing another large political streamer.... Hasan maybe? Its almost like his viewers and fans are briganding every post political or not, against people they hate.
Larger and more like post is for normies to like and discuss but, small post is for brigading from Hassan. especially emiru posts.
Edit: Saw your profile, you a Hasan fan. Thats why Hasan got left out from brigading. Trash Taste brigading was peak cinema.
okay schizo let’s get you back to bed
Nice comments in your profile. Time for you to get out of your bed and touch grass.
You're the only one who brought up those three people here lmao
You're the one who literally posts in Destiny's subreddit and just proved my point lmao.
Jesus.
They had literally nothing to do with this lmao. You brought them up
Yes, the Hasan fan thinks everyone who opposes his lord are fans of his biggest opponents while Hasan's community reddit is a full on echo chamber. No bro, you just left the echo chamber.
My man as someone uninterested with all those losers I can tell you all their fans suck ass, it’s just that Destiny and Asmongold fans suck so much more.
Who don't you make a wholesome doggo livestreaming sub and see how it goes?
Easy to understand why though. Some of those streamers combined yearly income is in 8 digits, yet they're asking for viewers to donate, while they're making money from streaming the helping process.
Some of those clips are insane to look at. Multiple cameramen filming "genuine" helping. Reminds me of whenever people give money to homeless while doing a selfie video, since good deeds don't matter if you don't film them.
I mean, look at it this way. Imagine your friend needs 50 bucks to pay rent or whatever, so you decide to walk around homeless people asking for 2 dollars donations so you can complete the goal.
It's not wholesome, it's pathetic.
It's multimillionaires doing a fundraising event for couple of thousand dollars for their multimillionaire friend.
over $25k now too. It’s really cool seeing so many streamers come and help out. The amount they’ve done in such a short period is pretty impressive. They get to help a friend, raise a boat load of money for an amazing cause and get some cool content too. Made a huge success out of an awful situation.
Let’s derail an entire comment thread talking about 1-2 people being slightly negative by all being negative in the process cause we’re all so cool, who’s with me?
You know if she did nothing the same boring morons in here complaining would be bitching about how she didn't help.
Your lives are boring.
Sometimes streamers can get caught up in their own bubbles and become detached from reality but, in light of this devastating event, getting together, helping and raising money is a great example of the human spirit working together.
Thank you! Lol
W gooners

Holy fuck this place is miserable. Can't even raise money for a good cause without someone finding something negative about it
It’s actually really sad to see how somepeople have responded about all of the support Alveus has been receiving. What a cespool.
Genuinely LSF is the one of the most toxic wastelands I've ever seen
Mods are destiny lovers, they’ve carefully cultivated this community of misery
Jesus fuck ya'll sad as shit for this.
Using her platform to fundraise and physically helping isn't good enough?
This is lsf brother, we come here to hate and nothing else
[removed]
1: she has donated
2: it's massively more charity work you likely ever did.
So....
How DARE she help raise donations!!!
She's trying but her card is declining. (wich is kinda absurd to me, because someone rich should know how to unlock their own card.. it aint that hard)
Donated $2k, working for many hours, still crying. Classic LSF losers.
I think she's kinda busy rn
[deleted]
Thats sponsored but I'm. Sure she could
[removed]
It's genuinely their lifestyle lol
Only ever used to watch one streamer, and whenever 4-5 of them went out in public, it was just:
Walk around > someone cracks a joke, everyone laughs > instantly looking down at their phone for reactions.
[removed]
Good thing it’s a non-profit sanctuary with lots of other expenses and future developments
Genuinely, how the hell do so many of these people expect for Alveus to get money to do anything with?
They're using a lot of the money for other stuff.
However, if they were actually going to build a proper road and not just chuck down some gravel it would probably cost an awful lot more than they've raised. Roads are way more expensive than people realise
Libertarians think they are free
You could have bothered to open the stream and read the freakin caption that's on screen 24/7
Any extra money will go to the breeding and release program and the 5 birds of prey enclosures.
I am soooooo excited for the breeding program!
Paved roads are way more expensive than most people realize, also the fact that the existing road was washed away and needs to be rebuilt is another factor that would increase costs further.
I mean, if they actually would do a paved road, depending on how long it is, a quarter million might not even be enough. I doubt they will do a paved road though, propably just a gravel road like it was before (at least I think that's how it was) and use the rest of the money to keep alveus running.
You gotta keep in mind that alveus has like 10+ staff now so even payroll is a big expense and then there's all the animal food, vet costs, new enclosures etc etc. Shit's expensive and I'm sure they need all the money they can get.
Idk much about it but my guess is if they're going to actually make a real road it could literally cost low to mid 6 figures. It has to go over a pipe system and all sorts of stuff. You could jerryrig one for sure but this will just happen again probably.
I don't think you know how much roadwork costs if you want to do it properly. Especially when it's severely damaged like that.
With that money they can make an F1 Track! . Alveus sanctuary Grand Prix /S.
This may be very pessimistic but I'd rather see them donate money to people really affected. Not their rich friends who likely had the money and community to get repairs done anyways.
Your government is supposed to do that, when natural disasters strike, the government is meant to support the individuals affected, but yes, be upset for private millionaires helping their friends conservational program that educates young people and kids on the welfare of animals and the importance of the environment.
I will be upset about millionares donating to millionaires while predominantly poor people are affected by said natural disaster.
Thank you for the permission.
I appreciate your blind confidence in not knowing what you are talking about but yet you keep pushing on. That’s the resilience we need
Tell me then, who is most effected during a natural disaster? Just cause you have bias for these rich people doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. I actually like this whole group of streamers but I can still recognize and critique their practices.
*affected
We must stop these charities. I saw your analysis about tax law above, I can have higher iq conversations in pregame Xbox lobbies instead.
No shit, people without money have it harder. No one said otherwise lol.
Hahaha the one using ad hominem saying this
I can have higher iq conversations in pregame Xbox lobbies instead.
Ironic
Truth hurts, doesn't it?
Nah opinions on reddit don't effect me on the slightest lmao. Safe to assume my opinions may have hurt your bias in some way though, and for that I am sorry. Understanding the internet has varying opinions on topics can be hard for some.
nah u mad bro 😂
edit: yeah blocking me was totally cope 😂 😂 😂 😂
I wasn’t painting Xbox lobbies as places for intellectual conversation, more of showing it as a low bar to meet. But hey, thanks for proving my point.
I did get a chuckle out of this comment of yours tho. “If you say so. Most people who run "non profits" also rich just a coincidence ig.”
I'm happy for you, hope you have a good day lol.
With a bio like that I bet you spend most of your time being upset at everything.
Says the one who went and read my bio just to get upset and talk sht about it, because I said something that made you upset in the first place, 😂😂 have some perspective lmao
It’s not millionaires donating to millionaires… it’s millionaires donating to an education program that is led by their friend… poor people who’ve been affected by natural disasters are meant to be helped by the government, but the American government is more concerned with donating billions of dollars to the military and other billionaires. Your anger is petty and misguided.
Its mostly for the animals right? Not for Maya herself
That literally has nothing to do with what I said.
I'll say it again maybe a bit more clearly,
I'd rather see large donations from the rich, go to actual people(key word people) severely affected by the flooding. Not a small sanctuary ran by people (their friends) who likely already had the wealth to get repairs done without said large donations from their rich friends.
It's their money tho they can literally do whatever they want with it. Doesn't mean I can't criticise it.
Animals are often forgotten or neglected during natural disasters. I think they are doing a nice thing, even if it favors their pal.
That's fair
Fundraising isn't a zero sum game, they're not taking money away from people. There's no winners in virtue Olympics, just dying children and one-legged puppies. People will donate to whatever causes they're personally invested in, just be happy that money is going to a charity at all.
The more money they have, the more animals they can shelter, the more they can push their message etc etc. Really comes down to you having a different opinion that won't really go anywhere because caring about animals is a very human trait
Yes, my opinion is when there is a natural disaster. Rich people ought not donate to their friends and other rich people, because when a natural disaster occurs, such as a flood, it is predominantly poor people who are affected. But hey if you disagree...by all means.
It's interesting to see how rich streamers get a pass on this sort of thing
It's interesting to see how rich streamers get a pass on this sort of thing
.. get a pass.. for donating time and money to charity? WTF is with your entitled expectations on what other people do with their time and money? This is exactly the kind of BS that discourages people from ALL philanthropy. They'll never be able to please everyone, and there'll always be assholes like you out there waiting to shit on them for donating to the wrong good cause.
You can get mad at me for not liking rich people donating to eachother and phrase it however you like so you feel like ur on the moral side. But it's not going to stop me from criticizing this type of action.
Sure thing dude, keep it up and some day maybe they'll stop donating to charity 😂 edit: nice, tell to to reply then block me so I can't, how pathetic
Quote me where i say i wanted that. So disingenuous and triggered 😂 can't even be real with what was said. Just mad I criticized some people you probably have bias for.
They don't get a pass because you don't need a pass to do a good thing. There are people suffering to different degrees all over the world, would you chastise someone for donating to a homeless shelter instead of cancer research or vice versa? It's an absolutely miserable outlook, you are going out of your way to find fault in something that is entirely positive. It doesn't matter if they're rich or not, they are helping animals. Could they have hypothetically helped people instead? Sure. Does that matter? No. They could have theoretically built wells for malnourished kids in Africa but you aren't mentioning that because it's completely unrelated and you're just forcing your subjective ideals on people. The goal is to help the animals, get that through your head
I hope every good deed you ever do is met with “well why didn’t you do this good deed instead?” you absolute fool
Awww yall r so hurt from a lil criticism of your rich idols I swear. Look what you are hoping for just cause I want money going to poor people affected by a flood😂 yikes
Choosing a charity that educates and helps as the target of your criticism is where most of the negative response is coming from.
There are billionaires with 100000x - 400000x the funds of these people, that aren't helping anyone or anything, and yet you're here yapping at streamers like it's their fault people are dying.
It's a non-profit. If they don't fund raise they don't have money.
If you say so. Most people who run "non profits" also rich just a coincidence ig.
Maya does not take a salary from the sanctuary. This is confirmed in annual reports they have to make about where the money is going. She and the others on the board have never revived any compensation from Alveus.
I'm sure they struggle to buy food
Huh?
How rich do you people think she is? Do you think animal sanctuaries are free to run?
You made me look this up, estimated net worth 5 million...so probably more lol.
Yea without these donations that sanctuary was screwed/s thank God the wealthy friends stepped in
Lol because the Google summary of net worth is accurate, ever.
You mean I made you prove you dont have a clue because Google doesnt know how much she's worth either.
You also completely ignored the warning Google AI gives you:
This figure is an estimated net worth and may not reflect her exact financial situation.
Its pulling that info from a site called people.ai which calculates it by guessing based on her influence on social media and that would also include the charity streams and fundraisers she's been doing since she opened rhe sanctuary back in 2021. The money she's raising here would be considered her net worth as well.
What are you even arguing right now lmao. I gave you probably the best estimate available to your question ..
"How rich do you people think she is?"
And now you are doing what? Trying to convince yourself that she isn't loaded? Is your position she isn't rich lmao? Or are you moving the goalpost/argument trying to now switch to all this bs you are saying now lol...
Bet you ignore these two questions
"Trying to convince yourself that she isn't loaded? Is your position she isn't rich lmao?"
What are you even arguing right now lmao.
That you dont know what youre talking about. I made that very clear.
I gave you probably the best estimate available to your question .
My question was how rich do YOU think she is and you went to Google and copy/pasted the top result instead. So you didnt even answer my question.
Between my last comment and this one your 2 questions are answered but youre still going to come back confused acting like you dont know what I'm saying.
This may be very pessimistic but I'd rather see LSF donate money to people really affected. Not sit at their keyboard and bitch about how other people should spend their money.
not much different than kylie jenner asking her instagram follower to pay for her friend's surgery.
Yeah its exactly the same if your brain is made of jello.
[removed]
It's a non-profit animal sanctuary. With multiple professional animal care staff and conservationists. What the hell are you expecting? It's expensive.
yeah because you are stupid on how non profits and actual charities work. there are numerous animal sanctuaries and recovery efforts throughout the country. most barely scrape by and dont have a large goal of doing conservation education. they get government or organizational grants
all the financial information is public record if you actually cared rather than just hate posting on a reddit with something that isnt even your money. other people donate and sub and watch streamers all the time and most of that money is just thrown away on nothing tangible.
You also coulda just not said anything. Holy shit dude this is just sad. I’m hoping things get better for you brother.
It’s sad that I’ve noticed a millionaire exploit donations constantly for her “sanctuary” under the guise of good cause?
Wake up
You have to be baiting
"the girl who dedicates her time, money, and resources to building and maintaining an exotic animal sanctuary loves exotic animals."
Real groundbreaking shit there buddy
You're a boring person.
Kinda had a similar view tbh. I don't like being pessimistic and thinking glass half empty but it is interesting to think about.
Do you know it's not cheap to run, supply, and staff an animal sanctuary that also has no income besides donations?
Huh wonder why you’ll get downvoted. Real big mystery.
Sorry but I got it at first but then I found out it's to fix a damn road, none of the animals are in danger it's all for a road, Maya is rich af and I think they've raised over 100k. The way all these streamers are flocking in to "help" like it's some huge devastating cause is just strange when other businesses/people in texas have been far worse affected.
I know this is unpopular but it's all so strange, the way the camera man keeps saying please donate to alveus etc and then maya dramatically reads each donation like she's in the middle of hurricane Katrina is so odd, this is a MILLIONAIRE.
R u ok
Lmao I don’t think they are
I'm so sorry you have to go through this.
lul
Low key feel the same, just seems like a glorified exotic pet project for maya, no visitors even allowed, correct me if I'm wrong but she even lives on the land that all these people are funding.
no visitors even allowed
Its an animal sanctuary, not a zoo.
And Maya isnt rich like you guys are thinking. She's spends all her money on the animal sanctuary.
She used her earnings from a fund raiser to buy the land, no one is funding the land, it’s bought years ago. Alveus isn’t a zoo, it’s a conservation sanctuary. Animals that cannot be released to the wild are donated to the sanctuary rather than being killed. Maya and Alveus use the animals to teach young people and kids about animals and the environment. A lot of young kids are watching Twitch these days and it’s replacing modern media, having an educational program on twitch like Alveus is a positive thing all around.
The donations don't fund the land. Maya owns the land and allows the non-profit to use it for something like $1 a year (just so it's all officially rented etc) so yes she lives on the land she owns in a tiny house in the corner.
And before you go to the next thing, no she takes no salary from the charity (it's public record).
How does she ever get by
I mean I never claimed she was on the bread line. She clearly makes enough money to sustain her life from her own stream.
Just pointing out that she isn't taking any of the money from the donations to Alveus.
It's not a zoo you tweezer.
Facts. I think we should care more about the ppl affected by the flood than those animals.
What are you doing to help? Oh, just being an asshole on lsf? You’re a hero!
🤣🤣🤣
You know 90% of the people helping would not contribute if it were not content for their streams.
Funny thing is that all these donation is sufficient for Maya to buy a new sanctuary
Rich people giving other rich people money. Maya could afford to fix the road. There are people with real needs out in the world.
Never understimate the power of the Emi-Schizos!!
You misspelled gooners
W scam
How many millions does this sactuary need for so few animals? Meanwhile someone like uncle ben has never asks for shit and has like 4x the amount of animals.
He has 3 million subs on yt
Uncle Ben does not run an animal sanctuary, he keeps most of them as pets and rehabs very few. I like (or at least liked) his videos, but they are not the same.
Millions is also a stretch. you can read about Alveus Santuary's financials and charity ratings here.
In 2023, the Sanctuary made about $900K with about $570K in expenses, and they have worked on some large, expensive projects since then.
He actually rehabs hundreds of animals now, so I dont know what you're talking about.
Just blatantly spreading misinformation lol
Edit: So im just getting downvoted for pointing out an obvious lie? He rehabed hundreds of birds, bobcats, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, reptiles, the list goes on. Watch any video in the last year and a half and its all there.
I could be wrong, but iirc Ben has relied a lot on Church connections for help, as well as donations (not that that's a bad thing). Its been a minute since I watched, but the original fencing was all donated, and a lot if tge early food was donated as well iirc.
Animal rehab and care isn't cheap, and both Maya and Ben are doing good work with what they have available.
lol
Time to take this thread into overdrive:
Is Maya vegan?
Why are they just plucking rocks out of a stream? Haven't been watching anything.
Yikes
She matched that right?
[deleted]
Maybe because they have shit they need to repair and pay for? You know it's a non-profit organization, right? They have animals to feed, stuff to build, employees to pay a salary for.
Great, I just think its a little insensitive to be sitting in a running river laughing where people lost their children. There are better ways to go about that. You're making content out of tragedy, to me its fucked up.
You could be helping the parents and the families directly affected, collectively you're fucking millionaires and you're raising money for a charity, yeah you're the real good guys.
I dont think there is anything funny or entertaining about sitting in a running river with your mud covered faces laughing and having fun. People JUST lost their families there.
Wrong sub buddy, /amioverreacting is over there ->
Tru they should bawl their eyes out listening to evanescence on camera
Why are you gatekeeping which charity is valid and which is not. This one is clearly to repair the damage to their access road. You are so bitter.
I would find it honestly far more morbid if this was about the flood victims.
And if it would be, i highly doubt they would act the same.
People JUST lost their families there.
Actually no, no one lost their lives at Alveus
What are you doing to help?
