I'm hijacking your comment only to point out that this is a perfectly proportionate map of the world, with an enlarged China in the middle of the Pacific. Half of the countries are hidden by it.

at the same time most countries have maps that position their own continents at the centre, and china is obviously larger here so they can give it more detail
中國 has been used since the Western Zhou, originally to refer to the central states. It started to be used for China overall in the late Qing. While it’s definitely true that dynastic China viewed their lands (and emperor) as the center of the world, I don’t think you can just say that it reflects that all people in modern China see themselves as being at the center of the world. It was the name of China even in periods where China was very poor and certainly didn’t see itself as being a superpower. It’s still the name for China among Chinese-speaking people who don’t live in China or see it as the center of everything.
And also just the name of the country, rather than the context of being central or middle. A bit like imagining that Americans have some innate or earned sense of "union" or federation, because United is in our national name. Not really.

The entire world work around Europe being in the center. Africa is smaller and Europe is bigger. Also that's why we refer thing as east, west, north, south base/in comparison from where Europe is. Because, earth is a planet, a globe... there is no beginning, no top, no bottom, no end....

well yea, thats literally what the chinese zhongguo means in english. All empires view themselves as the center of the world.
For China it had a reasonable background why it made sense for them to think they were the center of the world.
Their entire known world was east asia and surroundings. China was not unified for over thousand years. Qin Dynasty united China and expanded to most natural barriers. Even conquered Mongolia (xiongnu) as Han and Tang Dynasties. So China actually managed to conquer everything. Smaller states existed like Korea, Japan, south east asia and middle east. They were seen as satellites and maintained relationships. During those thousands years era it was absolutely reasonable to think they were the center of the world. Everytime China was united in those eras noone could rival them except for nomadic folks which were basically fully militaristic enemies. The natural barriers made them see themselves as the center.
That China was several strong kingdoms separated makes uniting it feel like as if we create a Country where every nation on earth joins like a United Earth Country. China always united bc a fractured China was always at war and with insane amount of casualty. A united China was much more peaceful
They knew of the Roman empire during the Han dynasty 2000 years ago. They even tried to send ambassadors, but got tricked by the Parthians into thinking it was much further away than it was.
