I’m gonna shout out Sad But True by The HU and The Thing That Should Not Be by Primus.
My favorite is Chris Stapleton’s version of Nothing Else Matters on the Blacklist.
I was a big fan of his before he released his cover. But that took it to another level.
Yes! Came here to say this! Also thanks to this cover, I got into his music more generally.
Came here to say this, but also to say that I think it's better than Metallica's.
It’s really good. I’m not sure if it’s better than Metallica’s though.
I currently like it better but I have serious listening fatigue for Metallica’s version. I just have heard that song so many times.
I enjoy both Ghost’s and The Warning’s covers of Enter Sandman
I didn't know Ghost covered it. Need to hear this now!
i love it because it really does feel like “if ghost wrote enter sandman” and not just “ghost playing metallicas song enter sandman”
Love The Warning’s version! Shame they’re no longer including it in their live sets
Vader has a cover of Fight Fire with Fire, it’s the darkest and fastest thing
Can confirm
🤘🤘
Limp covering Sanitarium.
This was an incredible cover. I had 2% hope they played it on this tour with Metallica. But they did not. Still a great show though.
Austrian Death Machine have a decent cover of Trapped Under Ice
Apocalyptica
Definitely not Motorhead's version of "Whiplash" which for some reason won them a Grammy, but I remember liking "Trapped Under Ice" by Death Angel from the same tribute album
Biffy Clyro’s Holier Than Thou, I like
Motorhead - Whiplash
Royal blood’s sad but true
Diamond Head - No Remorse

I think OP is asking for other bands playing Metallica songs.
Mixed Up Everything does some cool stuff. They have an unplugged rendition of Master of Puppets that's worth checking out.
Those guys are fantastic
The Of Wolf And Man cover from the blacklist
Motorhead - Whiplash
Machinehead - Battery
And for fun: Sum 41 - Master of Puppets
Trivium- Master and Volbeat -Don't Tread on me
Probably machine heads cover of battery
You beat me to it.
Trapped under ice by Abbath
Between the buried and me - blackened
Fight fire with fire -Vader Don’t tread on me -Volbeat Sad but true - Royal Blood
Bullet for my valentine- creeping death and sanitarium. Both excellent.
I dig Cannibal Corpse’s cover of “No Remorse”.
Sad but true-The Hu
At around the 8 minute mark, at the end of Cave In’s “Crambone”, they do a medley that rules! Probably my favorite for 20 plus years now.
Me in my bedroom ripping dual boss katanas
As I’m a recent new huge fan of Orbit Culture after seeing them in January, they have a cover of Hardwired and it’s amazing!
Steve 'n' Seagulls - Nothing Else Matters
Sabaton - For Whom the Bell Tolls
The dude on Xbox live that left a voice message saying “you’re gay” and plays the Enter Sandman riff
Cover band "Blistered Earth" does a great job. Seen em twice, and they killed it both times. They even got the look down.
Escape by Gojira
Disposable Heros - Chimaira
Wherever I May Roam by Jon Pardi.
Ha*ash - The Unforgiven and some band whose name I can't remember, but they did Ktulu telling a story over it, probably something from HP Lovecraft.
Enter Sandman cover by Motörhead
Royal Blood’s cover of Sad But True is so fucking awesome, never fails to amaze me the kinda sound Mike Kerr gets outta his bass
Cannibal Corpse covering No Remorse hits like a freight train
Between The Buried And Me - Blackened
The Master of Puppets and Battery cover by Van Canto is heavily slept upon - those guys are absolute genuises with their sound.
Enter Sandman-The Warning
Andre Antunes. Master of Puppets in the style of Muse. A multilayered cover. I love it and think it's spot on.
Garbage Inc.
Sad But True-Snoop Dogg
They're uncoverable
I don't listen to covers I listen to Metallica
You mean Metallica doing covers? Funeral for a friend/loves lies bleeding
Master of Puppets by Trivium \ Orion by Rodrigo y Gabriela
Listening to Trivium’s MoP right now lmao
