Metallica

Too Far Gone has some of my favorite riffs from 72 Seasons. What are some of your favorites?

Really? I think its pretty good. I mean its like any Metallica album after black album. Some songs I dig, some i dont care for, but overall i think its solid. Theres like 5-6 songs i really enjoy. Definitely things I notice though that are becoming kind of stale. Like James obsession with writing riffs that use some variation of 0-3-5-6 on the low E. He does it A LOT. Lol

Too Far Gone was the first track that sneakily grew on me from originally being kinda “meh” in my book. It’s so goddamn good, from theme to lyrics to riffs. There’s not an ounce of fat to trim from it. Half of my enjoyment of any album is finding those tracks that sink their teeth in right from the start. But the other half is giving the album multiple spins over a couple of years, finding the little tricks and flares that catch my ear, hearing the grooves that nest in my brain and keep repeating even when I don’t have any music on. It’s not all gold for me, but it’s an undeniably solid album.

Anyone else think the intro sounds like No Remorse intro?

For sure. It definitely pulls some inspiration from it.
