Are we to actually believe that this is the first time they've ran into each other since Montreal '92?
It's likely they haven't, since I don't imagine they run in similar circles. James doesn't strike as the type to run in those high society types parties and such.
Plus, there was genuine bad blood between them not so much for Montreal, but Axl accused James of being a racist for not wanting Body Count as one of the openers on the GNR/Metallica co headline tour, So I don't think either wanted to be near each other much in the last 25 years.
I think the fact that Axl himself tweeted this (without any caption) indicates it is the first time, as if he knew people would be excited/surprised over it
I think that is unlikely, even if they dont tour in the same area we've not heard them actively avoiding contact each other, plus with all the festivals where they can both be seen playing at, not bumping into each other for 30+ years either back stage or in airports seems implausible.

Ozzy spoke very highly of Axl and even called him a legend. Will people ever accept the fact that Axl’s behavior from the 90’s was a long time ago and that he’s much more mellow now with age?
