I never noticed the dripping/puddle at the bottom until today for the same reasons.

Me neither. I only like the logos with the long down tail on the M and A. Classic style logo - variations are acceptable but don't mess with the essence of it!
I do agree. It's like Iron Maiden begins to use other font for their logo. It's such Hard to swallow

My groom’s cake was my name in this font because that’s what they were using at the time of my wedding. If I were to login in MySpace, I bet I could find a photo of it.
It’s ok, but it’s definitely a product of its time. It fits the St. Anger album, for better or worse.

I love at anger but always thought this was a little toooo much, like it needed more balance… some different casing or sizing for the “ETALLIC” part or maybe the hooks were a little too xtreeeeeeme and we only ever get it as an outline. It’s got a lot of design elements that work against it so I get why they went back to the original as fast as they possibly could have.
I do enjoy seeing it whenever I see it though.
Comparing it to the Load/Reload era, it’s a bit of a blend of those and the classic logos while still being totally unique looking. I like it, but I think it’s probably the most “of it’s time” than any of the other logos
Nah! That logo screams of Drop C tuned guitars, Lars lifestyle that determined his snare style.
This and the MOP marble style are my favorites

Super nostalgic to me, 2003 is when i discovered them, remember watching the Frantic video on Norwegian television with my friend, we loved it

Not a fan of the logo. I love St. Anger but there was no point in making the M and A looko like that. It's like the took those letters and bent them sideways lol

I have a copy of Master of Puppets from Japan that uses this logo on the CD. At first, I didn't like it. But as long as the logo on the cover stays the same, I'm good with it.
The classic 3D logo is my all time fave, from Lightning, Master and the Black Album. But I like all their logos, even Load era.

For some reason, it feels like that current trend of oversimplified logos. It is similar (since it's just text) but it lost its sauce
