https://youtu.be/RSZy9pqToaY?t=210 here Lars says the band will be back in Australia/NZ as well as visiting United Arab Emirates Bahrain but what do you think are the one/two things that may pop up this year for Metallica?
Ain’t My Bitch played live
Let’s hope it’s a weekend in Vegas at the Sphere - the visuals would be amazing.
If they were going to do something like that in 2025, it would have been announced a long time ago.
That would be cool, but I don't think they'd go through the effort of having a custom Sphere show created just for a weekend. I'd love a longer residency, though!
If Kenny Chesney has the time…the Metallica machine can make it happen
Metallica fans travel from far away and they are exactly what Vegas wants for a residency. My guess it’s a matter of time before it gets announced
It’s just a matter of money. It’s not like Lars and James would design it themselves.
That might be a late 2026 thing, hopefully. I don’t know if they’d do a full residence, I feel like they wouldn’t cause that’d tie them down for too long. Still just a couple shows would be sweet. Would definitely go to that
I think at their age a full residency would be a good idea (they already did No Repeat Weekends so the fans travel to a big city instead of playing different cities in one country all fans come to a big city). I think especially James does not like to travel so much so they like to do some shows in stadiums instead of many arena gigs.
That would finally get me to Vegas.
A residency next year or in 2027 is more likely…the Sphere is a lot of work and prep, and these guys are touring into next year so they would need to set time aside for that.
Maybe for the Puppets anniversary next year? That I could see.
Reload Remaster and Garage inc 2 would make sense
In development... a long awaited sequel to the legendary video game Def Jam: Fight for New York.
Def Jam: Welcome to Hell is an over-the-top fighting game with a story line, this one involving members of the hard rock community. Featuring the members of Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Limp Bizkit, Gojira, Five Finger and others.
Interestingly the final boss... The Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy.
Its due in stores this November.
Best. Idea. Ever.
So.... Brutal Legend?
Concert appearances
Load celebration show in SF. Preferably in a small venue.
All within my hands show
Next year
Every other year seems to be the pattern yes.
Room of Mirrors LIVE!!!
hopefully in Australia
Reload Box this year and not nest year. Probably closer to the anniversary (November)
If I had to guess I’d say a couple more shows in the Middle East while they are there in early December.
Most likely; Releasing their cover of Johnny Blade/Announcing the release of Garage Inc. 2
ReLoad Box Set
Istanbul maybe? Or I wish lol
Constantinople or bust.
Their charity concert for AWMH probably
they always do that every two years so 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024 and the next one will be 2026
Ah ok
Garage Inc 2, please. Doesn’t have to be a double disc/4 lp thing . 10-12 new covers will do. This always seemed like the most logical thing for them to do at this stage . But I suppose getting licenses and rights is a whole thing. But they’re Metallica ?!?
You don't have to get rights to A cover, if the song is through one of the major publishing companies you can just let them know and make sure they get paid and get a license to perform or record the song. Mechanical licenses are compulsory. For a band like Metallica there is nothing stopping them from releasing any cover they want.
Even better.
You don’t even have to let them know. You just register it as a cover and pay extra on any distribution site like CDBaby, Distrokid etc. If you search out pretty much any song on Spotify, you’ll find tons of covers that nobody has ever heard. It’s easier than it’s ever been to formally release a cover.
The final sentence is the whole thing. They’re Metallica, they always do what they want to do. If they want to cover a track, I don’t think they would worry about how much they have to pay for royalties etc. they’d just do it. Hope you’re right too.
Whoah, what? James always tells us that "you're Metallica!"
Seconded. With Bob Rock at the desk. Say what you will but nobody ever made them sound better from a purely sonic perspective.
Bob Rock made them sound cinematic and sonically expansive.
Rick Ruben was close but the production/mastering suffered.
They just played Johnny Blade by Black Sabbath this weekend at the Black Sabbath final show. So wouldn’t be too surprising ?
Didn’t they just do that Elton John song, too?
