My whole “main” world.
Six years ago, my boyfriend committed suicide. A few days before he did, one of the things he said to me was “build our house in minecraft”.
I never stopped building.
The structure is now a massive maze of rooms across the map (I could never hope to know my way around it), and full of all sorts of things which are dedicated to his memory.
I have slowed down on it, but I can’t bring myself to ever “finish” it for good.
Friendly reminder to save your world somewhere just in case 👍
I regularly back it up but thank you ❤️
I’m really sorry to hear that. I do love the idea of a Minecraftified Winchester house though. I hope you’ve found peace in it
I didn’t see the Winchester mystery house parallel at first but it pretty much is that. And thanks so much, it helps sometimes but makes me sad at other times. It has rooms that look like significant places we made memories and in jokes only he and I would understand ❤️
This was my first thought too! Hopefully the house isn’t haunted by the ghosts of any displaced villagers.
One day, I asked a girl I was dating and in love with what I should build in my world. I wanted a piece of her, something that would remind me of her, even during the game. That day, she found out something about my past that made her break up with me. To say I didn't want to live is an understatement. The tower remained unfinished for a long time, until I asked a friend to decorate it. Now, the tower has been destroyed in half by a meteorite. Meteorites fall suddenly, and often nothing can be done about them. That's it.
That's honestly so poetic ngl
I once wrote my crush’s name in gold blocks back in Minecraft PE
Yeah I made a creative world and made a house Outta netherite, diamonds, and gold.
A gold, diamonds, and emeralds blocks house 🫡
Yeah kinda. My brother and his wife visited my daughters and my World a good decade ago, and they had a dog, and one day they made him sit and logged out but unbeknown at the time, they were to never come back either separately or together (they split up shortly after).
After a few weeks of watching this dog just sitting there and being rained on, we built a little dog house around it, and its been there ever since.
We thought we'd lost the whole thing with the moves across versions, and we can only access it via our Xbox, but its there and we won't stop until we are forced to do so.
I made the companion cube from portal for a girl that I had a crush on
This house. Though it's not the final version just yet
The story behind this house is quite long, beginning all the way back in 2021 on a little SMP. I decided to build a massive modular jungle house near spawn for players to live in like in a hotel, but someone came in and destroyed it (the only thing that was left was a redstone chest lol)
Summer 2022, we took a trip to England and while we lived at our sponsors' I played Minecraft on Xbox. I rebuilt this house on a singleplayer world, but couldn't really enjoy it for too long because we eventually had to return from the trip
The year is 2023 and I make a survival world where I finally manage to fix up this damn house. It's not 100% finished because the interior is still WIP and the territory around it is kinda ugly as you can see, but it'll certainly be finished some day
The Nether Reactor Core's frame.
Built a turret from Portal when banners first came out, only consists of 2 quartz blocks, smooth stone slabs on the side with banners, one banner with a black verticle line and a red dot as the face, 3 levers pointing down on the bottom block as legs and a repeater on the top block
Yeah, espacially those of us who are playing for over a decade.
I have a 12 year old map, a superflat world covered in water. I started it in early 2013 because I wanted to build warships but my brother started playing on it too so it quickly became a city on the sea. When my cats died in 2015, 2017 and 2019, I built all of them memorials there.
I like to build mod portals. Like a shrine of failed portals. The aether portal, twilight forest pool, cheese portal to the moon(sponge), faux beach chair to Tropicraft. Just a fun way to remind myself of the past.
Every base I build also used to have runways because I loved Flan's Mod planes. Shame there's not really a good plane mod for the modern game.
I recently rebuilt a diamond skyscrapper me and my cousins made when pocket edition was launched.
My Nether-themed house
Definitely, me and my cousin built the Helicarrier from Lego marvel superheroes back when we were 8 to 9 years old and played around in it all the time,
Several years later, I rebuilt it based on memory, and it almost brought a tear to my eye.
Herobrine summoning
I remember one time that I had a dog, for some reason, it hadn't sat down and teleported to me in a cave, I was trying to get out and was bridging across an underground ravine and a creeper tried to blow me up, I didn't see it and the dog knocks it off the ravine. Poor guy died when defending me from a skeleton or something, so I made a grave for him.
Heaven portal, made by glow stone and water...
I made the F1 car of a F1 driver who passed away
RIP nether reactor you will be missed
I once booted up the version of minecraft I started playing on, made a new world with my favourite seed that I used to play on a lot and in the place where I usually put my base, I built a part of what I wanted my skin to look like back then (I had a pirated version of minecraft cause my parents wouldn't buy me a legit copy so I couldn't actually use the skin). I took a screenshot that incorporated the nearby snowy and jungle biomes, which used to haunt me on every new world I created back then and used it as my wallpaper for some time. It brought me deep feelings of nostalgia.
For me it was a lot of the builds I made on an old Minecraft server I used to be part of, sadly a lot of those builds got erased though due to server resets. However there's an old world I had from my days of playing in 2012 where I tried to replicate my High school campus but never got around to finishing it.
My son and I build a world nearly 10 years ago....I havnt seen him for about 8 years ..as he's not interested..so sometimes I go to the world to have a look around ...he build a gravestone to his dog that died and sometimes I feel ots a gravestone to our friendship
For the French speaking among us here. Le manoir Lennon.
Bit more context, TheFantasio974 and Bob Lennon were pillars of the French speaking Minecraft community from the very early days to about 10 years ago now. They met on Minefield, probably the oldest French minecraft server that's still up.
They had a series of video called D&Cube, a parody of a TV series. It was a sort of tutorial series where Bob built houses. S1 was a nice simple house on Minefield. Season 2 was a bigger version of the S1 house. Both were classic for the time (Alpha and very early beta), a cobblestone base with wood for walls.
The manor is from season 3 I think, a brick manor inspired by Scotland IIRC. In every world I build a copy of this manor, 1:1. It was first built in Beta 1.7 or 1.8. In the original video, Bob mentions he wanted to give it a black roof but lamented there was no blocks black enough at the time. Now we have blackstone and deepslate and both work pretty well. Thing is, I never live in it, I just find a place similar to where it was built in the videos and leave it there. Sometimes I even forget where I built it.
TheFantasio974 (Fanta) quit Minecraft, did a podcast for about a year but stopped because he insulted a viewer (The clip became a meme), quit Youtube after that. The duo had a gaming channel and that became Bob's channel. He briefly came back as a cryptoguy, was invited to a fan's (Who himself had quite a following) Minecraft server opening and shamelessly plugged a crypto he had invested in. Both Bob and Fanta made a brief appearence in a youtuber friend's Minecraft video for a skit. It was a short parody of a D&Cube episode.
i built a giant version of the old village small house, because building variants of that house is what got me hooked on minecraft and building, and was when i fell in love with minecraft villagers
I like making a failed Aether Portal as an art exhibit in a museum, I call it "Despair".
I built a Nuva Cube from Bionicle on a previous (now lost) world. I have a "forever world" now, maybe I should remake it?
A grave for Technoblade and another for TFC on my creative forever world. (Heads obtained with commands)
60% of Minecraft players will understand this
I have a wall design that I use. Same blocks, same everything. For around seven years now.
