I love this. Not quite 10 years for me, but I totally get it. Early days I tried fighting the dragon, failed, hated every second of the battle and spent years afterward just playing the early game and focusing on building in creative. It took 5 or 6 years before I decided to try again, mostly because I wanted an elytra.
I see your playing bedrock and using an axe as a base weapon. Axes deal less damage than swords on bedrock so maybe get yourself a sword.
My sword had sharpness 3 and nothing else but my axe had sharness 4 so it dealt more damage than my sword, si that's why I used the axe instead of my sword
