One Piece Chapter 1154 Spoilers
Title: Unable To Die
BREIF SUMMARY
Cover: Ocho takes Yamato to the grave of a hero from West Blue that was raised in Ringo.
- After Big Mom incident, Elbaph was hit by disasters like fires, storms of famine.
- When desperate giants was about to attack Ida and Hajrudin, King Harald returned in time to protect them and brought foreign aid to help Elbaph. Estrida died from illness before Harald’s return. On the other hand, Ida opened a bar in the underworld.
- 56 years ago Harald went to the Reverie but the government ignored him. Back in Elbaph Jarul talked to Harald about the Galley La (the name might be slightly different) a group of ancient giant and non ancient giant shipbuilders who were captured possibly by the government.
- Estrida’s sister reared Loki and abused him while Harald was focused on rebuilding Elbaph.
- 48 years ago Loki unleashed some giant beasts on the villages. But when he saw how other children helped Hajrudin, he realized how alone he was. Suddenly Rocks Pirates appeared in the underworld and asked Loki if they were in Elbaph and if Harald was around.
- It’s revealed that Rocks met Harald at the Reverie 8 years ago (56 years ago from current time), but after that Rocks killed a Marine Admiral and become a wanted man.
- We see Rocks D. Xebec’s full face, he has two-tone hair and looks similar to Blackbeard. And that’s because Rocks was Blackbeard’s father…

- The giants’ ship-building guild is called The Great Hammer Warband- pronounced “Karela,” almost the same as Water Seven’s “Galley-La.”
- They reportedly left a letter in Elbaph saying the whole guild had been captured. Jarul can’t believe anyone could seize a hundred giants- including ancient giants. One rumor claims the entire Warband was literally frozen in ice. (TalkOP Remark: Immediately calls to mind the frozen giants on Punk Hazard)

Chapter 1,154: “Can't even die”.
Ogre Child Yamato's Golden Harvest Surrogate Pilgrimage, Vol. 38: “Please go visit the grave of the hero born in “West Blue” and raised in Ringo”. O-Chō and Kikunojo take Yamato, Ulti and Page One to a grave in ruins that we hadn't seen before.
Chapter starts with a little summary of Big Mom incident when she was a child. Then we see that many disasters befall Elbaph. A massive snowstorm prevented crops from being harvested and giants were also unable to fish or hunt, which brought famine to Elbaph.
Baby Loki managed to return to the castle but Queen Estrid didn’t want to see him. Baby Loki tried to hug his mother (he broke the door to enter in Estrid's room) but Estrid, full of hatred, rejected him. Baby Loki cried desperately as the soldiers took him out of the room.
Estrid: "It was all his fault!!! It's because we didn't kill him immediately that this nation is now cursed!! Get him out!! Never let that monster near me again!!! And destroy his eyes!! Or else everything will be cursed!! The end of this nation is closing on us!!!"
Giant soldiers: "Prince Loki!! You mustn't go near your mother's room."
Loki: "Ahh!! Ahhhhhh!!"
- Due to disasters, Elbaph was on a brink of destruction. Giants tried to attack Hajrudin because he was related to “cursed Prince Loki” but Harald returned to Elbaph just in time to help Hajrudin and Ida.
Harald: "My brothers, do not hurt each other!! The same time I received news that Loki is borne, I also heard of the famine that is raging through this nation!! I immediately discussed that issue with countries whom we have a diplomatic relationship with... And with just that they filled their ships with food!! No question asked!!! The humans are all so small compared to us...!! But several countries worked together and are delivering food that is enough to fill even the belly of us giants!! Let's accept their help!! And eat the food with gratitude!!! And one day when they need our help, let's give it to them all!!! It's a small world that we all share!!!"
In an AMAZING double page wee see ton of human ships arriving to Elbaph. All of them transported massive bags full of food to help the giants.
Estrid died right before Harald came back to Elbaph (we see Harald crying at the funeral). Ida decided to moved to the “Underworld” and built a bar (where we saw Colon and Shanks in the present).
Harald was busy with developing roads to connect Elbaph villages and end all fightings in the country. So Loki grew up with Estrid’s younger brother (no name for this character yet) who also abused him. Some time later, it seems this man was killed by creatures from the “Underworld”.
To prevent more problems, giant soldiers covered Loki's eyes claiming he had an eye disease.
Cut to 56 years ago at Jarul's house. Harald and Jarul were talking about conflicts between giants and World Government.
Jarul: "Harald, you were at the “Levely” where THAT INCIDENT occurred!?"
Harald: "Yeah... I asked a king who's my friend to help me sneak in as a soldier. In the end my requests fell on deaf ears...!! If that murder didn't occur... I may have been arrested."
Jarul: "Just being arrested would have been nothing... how ruthless. Have you heard of the story of the “Galleyra”?" (“ガレイラ” in japanese, kanjis mean “Great Hammer Warriors”)
Harald: "I think it was some group of tough Giant shipwrights? Some warriors with hammers? Some myth, right?"
Jarul: "No, they were real...!! They sailed far beyond Elbaph, and send home a letter from where they went... The content of the letter was along the lines of “We have all been captured”. Can you believe it? Over 100 warriors, ancient giant included, all captured by someone!!!?"
Harald wondered if they were captured by World Government, Jarul replied that all they can say for sure is that a great enemy existed in the past, but that part of their history was sunk deep into the ocean on a faithful day.
Jarul finished saying he heard a rumor that “Galleyra” members are “frozen” somewhere. When Jarul talks about “Galleyra” we can see in the background some of their silhouettes, and at least 2 of them are 2 of the frozen giants that Nami and Chopper saw in Punk Hazard.

Cut to 48 years ago. After the beasts incident on the villages, kid Loki jumped from the “Sun World” to the “Underworld” by himself. Loki crashed heavily to the ground, then he took out his blindfold and cried alone saying “he can't even die”.
Suddenly, a mountain was cut in half in the distance and someone talks.
Mistery man: "What the hell is the deal with this island, where is the entrance!?"
- A group of people approached Loki: Shiki, Edward Newgate, Buckingham Stussy and a mistery man. Mystery man: "Ahh there we go!! A giant brat!! I told you we are in Elbaph."
Shiki: "Jihahaha!!! This kid has the face of a devil!!!"
Newgate: "Isn't he huge even for a giant? And is he crying right now."
In the FUCKING EPIC final double page of the chapter, we discover that mystery man is “Rocks D. Xebec”!!!
Xebec face was very similar to Teach's face: same eyes, nose, mouth (but Xebec still have all his teeth loool). He had spiked hair with black and white locks, wore earrings and also had a scar (or tattoo, not sure yet) on the left side of his face. He was a big guy like Teach but thinner.
Chapter ends with Xebec official presentation...
Narrator:【Harald encountered this man at the “Levely” 8 years ago. During which this man escaped after killing an Admiral of the Marine Headquarter... And is currently hunt by the World Government who has placed a high bounty on his head.】
Xebec: "All right!! Say “Yes” to both of my questions kid!! Because that is the answer I am seeking right now!! First!! Is this place “that nation of giants” called “Elbaph”!? Second!! “It’s better that Harald be here”!!!"

Due to shenanigans regarding how Japanese language works your theory might actually have merit, but instead I think it's actually Xebec's name that's wrong. There's a non-zero chance that it's not even supposed to be written as "Xebec", instead it might be "Zebec". It's very easy to make these sorts of mistakes, as translating Japanese language requires some interpretation. Just take the word "roodo", which in English is translated as "road" "load" and "lord". You have to look at the context and decide which is the correct choice. Also the whole Raftel/ Laugh Tale-thing which was only solved because Oda presumably provided the English writing himself.

BB almost certainly inherited Rocks' will.
Ace did not inherit Roger's will. Luffy (and/or Shanks, who is more like Roger in his powerset and fighting style) did.
Roger, strong as he was, apparently needed to team up with Garp (and possibly Garling) to force Rocks to retreat at God Valley. Makes sense that Ace alone wouldn't have been able to take on BB.
Coby appears to be the inheritor of Garp's will.
Garling's will most likely will be represented by our newly-introduced Shanks-alike Shamrock.
When we get the big fight with BB, I suspect it'll be God Valley 2.0, with Luffy and Coby against BB. BB may take out Shamrock prior to this, causing Luffy to think he took out Shanks, which would give him ample reason to go all-out against BB.
I think Garp is what makes Luffy go all out on BB. I think BB is going to pull a marineford. Put Garp up for execution and then kill him in front of Luffy. Luffy and Coby are going to team up to save grandpa only to fail and Luffy is going to lose his mind.
Part of the series is the passing on of people’s wills. The new generation replaces the old. The old generation either gets killed off or moves on to let the new generation take their place. Garp being killed by BB will be the passing of his will to Coby.

Also interesting because Whitebeard took care of Blackbeard as a kid. Maybe Whitebeard was entrusted to take care of him by Rocks, or felt obligated to take care of him in some way.

Killing an admiral puts him in a very high power bracket.
Honestly, given how Blackbeard got his fruit and when he saw Thatch he immediately knew what he had to do (Kill him to take it) and thought it was destiny that the fruit would appear to him that way, I wouldn't be surprised if Rocks was a marine of some rank and killed the Admiral in order to take their fruit (being the yami yami no mi). Would make him even stronger, taking out an Admiral with an extremely powerful fruit without having one himself.

People are still going to find a way to downplay Rocks, they’ll say (He was on GreenBull’s level so Roger and Garp still by themselves took the whole crew). Blackbeard being his Rocks’ son is fascinating! Also assuming this moment takes place 48 years ago, 8 years until Blackbeard is born. Blackbeard joined Whitebeard’s crew ultimately to find the Dark-Dark Fruit, but maybe joined his crew also knowing that Whitebeard used to be on his father’s crew.

Probably pirate island was previously affiliated with WG but him killing a admiral took that status away and also the reason why BB wanted to trade coby for that tho now he has Garp .
BB being related to former royalty of the island he's now in control of would definitely make his plan to become royalty himself make more sense. We've seen the government forgive or overlook royalty for things a lot worse than what BB's done so far, and we've seen characters like Wapol, Doflamingo, Judge, the former king of Kuma's country, etc. be given carte blanche to do things like reconquer their old kingdoms or form new ones that are government sanctioned/permitted. So while a random pirate (and an emperor who betrayed the seven warlords at that) asking for government recognition sounds nuts, the son of a former king asking for his kingdom to be reinstated makes a lot more sense. And it's definitely the kind of long term gamble BB likes to make.

My money says Xebec was a king or something of a small nation. The WG did some heinous things to said nation. Xebec try’s negotiations and doing things the right way and WG blows him off causing him to act on his own. WG wipes out that nation. Xebec vows vengeance by killing the admiral that lead the attack. WG panics but is too late to stop Xebec from getting away. He gets the first 1 billion berry bounty ever.
Maybe this is why BB is so insistent on having Hachinosu being an officially recognized kingdom- to regain his dad's legacy bit by bit?

My first guess is Akainu too - ages match up, where it was 56 years ago and he is 55 now. So he probably conceived Akainu with someone before dying. - gives reason why Akainu hates pirates with burning passion/absolute justice as his dad was killed by one. I wouldn't even be shocked if Xebec blind sided and betrayed the admiral similar to Thatch's death

So now one of the most prominent and likely theories has finally been proven true. Rocks D. Xebec is the father of Blackbeard. Now that childhood portrait of Teech crying in a corner makes sense, he was orphaned and never met his father.
Still, that raises questions about whether Whitebeard knew who Teech was when he allowed him to join his crew? My guess is that Whitebeard must have known, but chose not to judge Teech by who his father was like he did for Ace.
Also, Rocks was at the Reverie which must mean that he was either the Ruler of a Kingdom or was a high ranking Marine that defected.
Edit: It could also be possible that Rocks crashed the Reverie and defied the World Nobles. They sent an Admiral after him and then Rocks killed him.
I genuinely don’t think people realize the genius of what Oda is setting up with Blackbeard and Rocks.
Most family bonds in one piece are adoptive. Bellemere and Nami, Sanji and Zeff, Luffy and Dadan, etc.
One notable exception that has been a focus of the story before was the relationship between Ace and Roger. I am actually excited to see the difference BB/Rocks and Ace/Roger.
Ace hated that he was related to such a notorious pirate and it was such a good story moment.

Seems like it, at least a little. Blackbeard named his ship “The Saber of Xebec,” after all.
But Xebec was the opposite of Roger, he was essentially erased from memory, so in contrast to Ace, BB probably wants the world to know who his father is and how great a pirate he was and to take down the people who erased him.
Also another parallel is BB's mother seemingly carrying the will of D as did Ace's mother... assuming BB's named after his mother.
We know he was orphaned, we don’t know he didn’t meet his father. I think the math is, he was around 8 at the time of rocks’ death.

I can’t recall if we’ve seen BB’s story of joining the WB pirates, but IIRC he was a straggler that got picked up and WB likely wouldn’t have been aware of his lineage

Theory:
Blackbeard's moves in the series have traces to God Valley as well, some intentional and others unintentional.
I think Rocks (father of BB) was betrayed by most of his crew at GV, which made BB to get revenge on those involved with GV or their direct descendants:
- Capturing Ace, who turned out to be son of Roger and illegitimate son of WB.
- Told Luffy he was looking for him before he ran into Ace (Grandsons of Garp the Hero)
- Crewmate of the former first mate of the Rocks pirates, Whitebeard. Sailed under him for decades, then killed him at Marineford to take his devil fruit.
- Captured the Hero of God Valley, Garp
- Placed a permanent scar on Shanks' face (the cabin boy of Roger and son of Figarland Garling, both present at God Valley)
- Invaded Amazon Lily for Hancock's power (unsuccessful,) knowing this is where Gloriosa is from.
- Attacked Thriller Bark because of the shadow corpses of the Rocks pirates
- Assaulted the original RA base (Dragon, son of Garp the Hero).
- Made Catarina Devon copy Saturns DNA (Saturn was on God Valley, subservient to IMU)
He never attacked Kaido or BM to my knowledge. Maybe they remained loyal to Rocks?

Rocks wanted to be King of the World but he clashed with the actual king's forces in God Valley, guess BB wants to uncover the history to avenge his father and fulfill his will that he inherited, "Saber of Xebec" is his ship everything was in plain sight not to mention Saturn himself hinted at his bloodline not race as everyone deduced

Pretty sure Catarina wasnt ordered to copy Saturn. They went there for another reason. It was something to do with the Vegapunks/Seraphim, and had no idea Saturn would be there, but when he showed up they used the chance to copy anyways.
A few problems
- He wanted Ace to join his crew when he ran into him.
- he mainly wanted to capture luffy as a trade bait to become a warlord
- we still don't know how BB gave Shanks that scar cause we've only known Shanks with a scar plus when Shanks showed up at Marineford BB said he crew wasn't ready for him
- he didn't capture garp, koby willingly gave himself up and Garp gave himself up for Koby and all of this only happened cause Aokiji arrived at Hachinsou in time. If Aokiji didn't show up Garp frees Koby and they are chilling and recovering at the Marine base like Garp was an unintentional win for BB
there was possibly an idea behind Catarina Devon copying Saturn but Saturn is dead so kinda......dead end there.
- attacking the RA base again totally by luck. Jesus Buregous was there to get the fire fire fruit and head back maybe negotiate with Doflamingo to take down Kaido who knows and then snuck into RAs ship

We've known for quite a while that he Blackbeard Pirates' ship is named Saber of Xebec. No wonder he chose that name for the ship.
Blackbeard is 40 years old currently, meaning he was 2 when the God Valley Incident happened and Rocks D Xebec died.
Children usually start forming memories at around 3 or 4 years old, so I wonder how does Teach know his father's name despite the WG having tried its hardest to erase Rocks D Xebecs' name from history. Did his mother tell him, did Whitebeard himself tell him, did he find a diary written by Rocks or is he simply one of those kids that can remember when they were babies?
I also wonder where Teach was during the God Valley Incident. Xebec never wanted Loki on the ship because he didn't want to deal with any children on the crew, so he isn't likely to have just taken his child with him.

Now we can examine BBs moves with respect to the current time line. He made a point of going after Luffy and Ended up causing Ace’s death (rogers son and garps grandson). when he couldnt also get luffy, he recruited aokiji- this resulted in Garps capture. Hes getting revenge for the ppl who wronged his father. Also, the theory from earlier today hypothesized that rocks was betrayed by whitebeard- this is exactly what BB did to Whitebeard. Even if these things are not intentional, he is “correcting” his family’s fate. Wild stuff. I also suspect that Garling had something to do with Rocks death (hence why Shanks may have to answer for his family line in rhe role of Rocks death)

The most interesting thing is the company named similar or the same as the Galley La , since they were the ones that had Pluto blueprints, it most likely that Pluto was designed by Giants hence the theorized big size of the ship, and the blueprints where passed along until they ended up in Tom's hands 🤯

Wait, this means every Emperor is a direct descendant of the God Valley Incident. Whitebeard, Kaido, and Big Mom were all present on Rocks's crew, Shanks and Buggy got their start on Roger's crew, Luffy is Garp's grandson, and Blackbeard is Rocks' son.
In a way the God Valley Incident and Rocks specifically are the cause of the current state of pirates around the world. Extremely interested to find out why he killed that Admiral because its essentially an inciting incident that sets up everything going on now.
Whitebeard literally had the son of Xebec and the son of Roger onboard his ship, let that sink in.

And if he was a King, maybe Hachinosu was a kingdom from the World Gov., but since Rocks owned that place and became an wanted man it became the pirate island that we all know. And kinda would make more sense why Blackbeard wanted Hachinosu to be part of the World Gov. again, maybe?

From the spoiler of recent chapter we know that rocks became a wanted man as he killed a marine admiral .Dragon is the most wanted man /world's worst criminal.I theorize that he also killed a marine admiral or killed a holy knight to gain that title that is why akainu hates him the most.It might be a stretch but i am betting on it.

This was a crazy read, really. What we got here is another crazy amount of lore:
- First time cover story got a little bit more exciting with the "hero from west blue" (sounds like ryuma for me, but i guess they would straight up wrote "grave of ryuma in this case) but we will see
- Harald came for the save for his ex fiancee and his son is wholesome, but who are this foreign aid? raising questions over questions, i guess Hajrudin will answer this in the future. Still. badass move from Harald
- Estrida dead felt deserved after last chapter (no i am not sorry for writing this). i am not surprised, her sister is equaly to hate. Poor Loki.
- Galley La comeback makes kind of sense, loved that there are ancient giants involved and i am very intriguid to know how they will tie at the end to water seven Galley-La. Seems logical, that Pluton could came from this shipwrights, hope we could possible have another climps at Tom.
- Harald going to the Reverie besides Rocks is also crazy. I really wonder (especially for Rocks), what was their position there. and then Rocks kills an Admiral, like dude is not whiped of history for nothing.
-Loki realising his loneliness is kinda wholesome, there is so much we can learn about this character, truelly good written this young trickster.

I genuinely don’t think people realize the genius of what Oda is setting up with Blackbeard and Rocks.
Most family bonds in one piece are adoptive. Bellemere and Nami, Sanji and Zeff, Luffy and Dadan, etc.
One notable exception that has been a focus of the story before was the relationship between Ace and Roger. I am actually excited to see the difference BB/Rocks and Ace/Roger.
Ace hated that he was related to such a notorious pirate and it was such a good story moment.
I wonder if Oda will explore the opposite parallel with Blackbeard.
