My mom recently passed away and I inherited her house, one of the first things we did was buy a new flag lol

That looks like a beach house, so I was wondering if you got the vacation home and another sibling got the main residence of your late parents. But it was even better. Are you going to rent them out? It’s a vacation home that my grandparents actually owned the land going back 50 something years. My dad then inherited it from them. We purchased the house next to that one. Demolished both and built this one in the 90’s, back when stilting your homes was a new thing. I inherited it when both my parents died (dad a couple years back, mom a couple months ago).
I’m an only child. So we sold my moms primary residence. We’re using that money to totally pay off this house. And we plan to rent it for 1 month out of the year which can be a good amount of extra cash.
I’m a new yorker so i’m by no means rich. I’m firmly lower middle class. Wife and I are both teachers. So my primary living home is still back in NY. We plan to only live at this house for 2 months out of the year. When I have summer vacation from work.
Dogs name is Oreo, also inherited from my mom.
Renting one month out of the year to cover property taxes is smart. Btw, have you considered buying a dog to keep Oreo company, if you do please name it snicker doodle.
I have a dog and a cat. My dogs a big Pitty/ Great Dane mix. Him and the little dog get along well
