Now you can finally play the map in 6v6, how was this bug not fixed earlier.
It says 3 July in the heading, guessing this patch was meant to go out last week.
No, I can finally vote for the map in 6v6.
Play it? Maybe once or twice a week if I'm lucky.
Are you playing 2 games a week? I've played this map like 10+ times and I'm on a few hours every other night.
Nope. In fact in comes up in almost every match as an option and I vote for it every time and so far I've played it maybe four times, I think. No exaggeration at all.
People are having WILDLY different experiences with map voting, it seems.
yeah it is voted pretty commonly just because it is new idk what the issue is
Oddly enough, Aatlis is the only Flashpoint map I've played so far this season. It's not super popular but gets enough votes to still end up being picked sometimes.
The other two barely enter the pool for me.
I bet you its fun in 6v6, those 5v5 ers are very traditional and only play the same maps over and over
The same maps over and over are usually OW1 maps and i’ve noticed people who like OW1 are playing 6v6 more
Great, now it will be voted against there too.
Democracy works.
finally i can stop playing 5v5
This map is horrible
bug, I think it was a feature
Great, now can they fix the bug where Map Voting is in Quick Play ?
As someone who loves the map voting quick play I hope they add 10 seconds to the timer just to annoy people whining about it. Why shouldn't quick play get nice things? The people whining about not voting in quick play probably also complained about role queue in quick play my and they didn't get rid of that. Map voting is here to stay.
The issue is not how long it takes. The issue is the game lost so much variety. I love playing push and flashpoint maps and am personally sick of payload maps like Kings Row and Hollywood.
The map variety was fair and balanced by being random, but now I see the same five maps every single night and I've just stopped playing QP entirely. It's not fun playing the same maps constantly.
I cant wait to choose which ammo my gun will have. Maybe thry should put in hero bans to. Just take the quick out of quick play while were at it. Make us choose if the match has a 1 minute timer or an hour timer.
Do you hear yourself?? It's approx. an extra 30-60 seconds before you get into a game & it provides a quality of life change to the majority of players - as evidenced by escort maps being overwhelmingly popular. Those people are clearly happy with the change, so I don't see it going anywhere.
Not even, its like 15-20 seconds at most and even then there are always players afk for the first team fight
Its such a non issue but some people just cant handle change and need to complaim
Why can't you just go to competitive if you want these "nice things" and let everyone else have the option to be able to still experience all the heroes and all the maps?
You're advocating for the removal of choice.
You're advocating for the removal of choice.
Bruh the mental gymnastics is crazy. Map voting is the choice! They gave us the choice instead of random. You're the one who wants to remove choice
Removing half of the maps from ever being played is NOT choice, stop kidding yourself.
I would choose to be in the action sooner if I could via quickplay. I loved Mystery Heroes for that reason, but now quickplay doesn't feel nearly as quick as it used to. I'm just trying to get reps in, not play ranked without a rank
Dude its 10 -15 seconds tops gimme a break
Fr, never saw anyone complain about map voting when cod was doing it a decade+ ago and the entire game was functionally quick play in those days
Because competitive matches literally take twice as long as a QP game, and people shouldn't lose out on such a big QOL change because they've not got the time to play.
That and comp is stressful bc the crowd playing take it far more seriously, it just isn't a comparable experience to the vibe of a QP lobby.
They will do that in 2 seasons and call it a highly requested feature by the players because they listen
Fuck I hate how on the mark this is
3rd greatest thing they did for the game next to 5v5 and role queue
Yup, it sucks for the minority who enjoy the unpopular maps, but I think the system is overall fair.
Most people seem to be happy with it. It's not perfect, but it's a big improvement.
Bro I haven't played a single Antarctic Peninsula in qp since this happened, it's so good.
Just wish people would stop picking fucking Aatlis. It sucks
Hero bans, map voting, and probably perks would be my top 3
Shit I forgot about perks
Hopefully right after they fix the bug where flashpoint and clash are in quick play.
I can stomach flashpoint, especially after seeing the reworked maps. Clash though? Genuinely makes me feel worse than 2cp, which I never thought would happen
Agreed, I don't mind flashpoint nearly as much as I hate clash. Flashpoint at least has interesting levels even if they are way too big. Clash just feels bad to play. "Oh well pushed them to their spawn, I guess we let them take it until we take the second point again, then let them take it again until we take second point, etc..."
Can they fix the design mistake where 1 guy can vote against the entire rest of the lobby and still have his map picked? That’s the real issue.
Tbh I like that design. It prevents stacks from dictating the maps if you’re a solo q player. Also gives more map variety even if the solo is doing it for the meme
How is that mistake?
For simplicity, imagine there's only 10 players and 3 maps. 4 players like map 1, 3 players like map 2, 3 player likes map 3. With current system, they would play map 1 about 40 times out of 100 and so on. With your proposal, they would play map 1 100 times out of 100.
Think of it as once per 10 games you have say which map is being played which is as fair as it can be. On practice, it would be even more often as in every game couple of players don't bother voting.
Because in the patch notes they explicitly said if a map is overwhelmingly chosen then that’s the map will be selected. When in fact that is not the case and it takes one vote to go into a map the majority did not want.
Whoever wrote the patch notes should've said "unanimously". Oh well. If it worked the way you suggest/"overwhelm" would suggest, I would never get to play anything but payload and hybrid. Its my favorite game mode but I'm already getting sick of how often we have to play them.
Just yesterday I was in a lobby where it was 8 or 9 votes on Kings Row. Unanimous, no other votes, mine not included. At the last second, remembering complaints about this exact thing, I decided to vote for Survasa. I don't even like that map very much. Guess which one we played. I was laughing so hard, and then my team got decimated - probably karma
Nice straw man, but that’s not what I’m talking about.
Blizzard stated in the patch notes that maps that are overwhelmingly voted for will always be picked (ie 10 to 1). This is not the case. I’ve had 4 matches (out of 30 played this season) where 1 guy votes against the entire lobby, yet the map with 1 vote was picked. Either they changed their mind and didn’t let the patch notes writer know, or the system is bugged.
I'm not an English speaker, does "overwhelming" have a defined percentage to start from?
Overwhelming would indicate at least a supermajority percentage (67%), but usually is used for even higher percentages (80-90%+).
No but it also does not mean unanimous which is clearly what they meant to say so its still frustrating and inaccurate
"You can't get more than 90%, you sore losers?"
I mean imo overwhelming would be the majority of something. So for the example above if 9 out of 10 people voted for say Kings Row but 1 person voted for Antarctic Peninsula then the system should go with Kings Row since 9 > 1
Yeah I think any mao that gets 70% or higher of the vote should be automatic
Hell I’d be fine with 80% but the fact that one person can out vote the majority is ridiculous.
Feels like it fundamentally defeats the purpose of a vote. Winning the vote doesnt win you the vote lol its dumb
For simplicity, imagine there's only 10 players and 3 maps. 4 players like map 1, 3 players like map 2, 3 player likes map 3. With current system, they would play map 1 about 40 times out of 100 and so on. With your proposal, they would play map 1 100 times out of 100.
This scenario is fair. But when its 9-1, 8-1, etc its just plain bullshit that the one can override the entire rest of the lobby
Entire lobby still has 90% chance to play their map. The real bullshit is belief "it's 10% therefore it has to be 0%” which too many gamers share and which many game designers cater them. You just want to have fun at the expense of that lone player while denying him the same.
Entire lobby still has 90% chance to play their map.
Wish it felt like it. I swear the one wins more often than not
It adds 10 seconds to the process and people actually get to play what they want. It's one of the best things they've ever added to the game.
Seriously 10s is nothing. If people are annoyed by the setup time before a match starts, they could easily cut like 15-30s out of the pre-game setup phase.
votemap de_dust
great now I have to play possibly a 3rd flashpoint map in 6v6 rip
Can't wait to try out the new map.
Oh hell yeah!

Lmao it was a bug??? LMAO this game
Well at least now I can avoid it for real.
6v6ers only pick payload maps sadly.
Oh THATS why i’ve never seen that map
I guess that's why I haven't seen it at all!
why
If I get this map 1 more time today im deleting my account😭
The maps very cluttered in 6v6 and doesn’t feel great tbh
The one thing they didn't need to fix.
Also still kno fix for Total Mayhem matches not counting for the Weekly Lootboxes.
Aatlis it was in QP from the beginning :---DDD
shouldn't have ever made the map available in the first place
YESS IM HERE FOR THIS
Finally! I knew it was a bug, wow Blizz...quality control went down the toilet recently
Recently?
Since i exclusively play 6v6 i love that i can finally play this map.
Now...add Samoa please.
Can't wait to still never have a chance to play it because everyone just wants to play the same 3 maps forever
I've never been hyped over the idea of map voting for this very reason. It feels like the overall map pool got reduced by 70% overnight.
Exactly this. When they announced voting was getting added I assumed it was going to be a comp only thing like hero bans. It makes sense to have it in comp because people like to strategize based on map, but quickplay is supposed to be a mode to just jump in and not care (to an extent) about what map or heroes people play. Now it's just the same few maps over and over and over and it's almost always hybrid or payload. I cannot describe my new hatred for Kings Row because now I have to play it literally every other game without fail. I actually like push and clash a lot, and I'm mostly neutral on flashpoint. Never understood the hate on them.
I'd love kings row over Nepal and Blizzard World constantly.
Don't see a problem with that, if people are having fun, they should just learn from this and create more maps for the most popular modes.
the quality of matches also increased by 70%
simple solution—predetermine game mode and show 3 maps within that mode.
1.) prevents endless payload games to people who aren’t a big fan (me) because the maps they like are payload
2.) unvaults 50% of maps that don’t get played because people don’t like the game types
Hollywood, lijiang, king's row every game
Or because some people don't want to play flash point.
