A fishing tip I’ve got is get one whalaska and 4 jelliette , the whale partner skill (needs to be out) makes it a lot easier to catch fish and the jelliette increase the loot dropped from fishing, I’ve tested it and it’s ridiculous.

Oh mb it’s the little ice island top middle of the map, kinda between the ice and dessert.
E.g. on the island north by the desert where you can find Neptilius. Buy you also get them from the fishing pond buildings. Great passive source of water pals and tech points.

I found mine in a dungeon on the Astral Mountain. The north one people are talking about is like lvl 58.
I found mine with lunker while fishing next to the lvl 55 oil rig, its an insane spot for fishing imo
What kinda loot are we talking?

I found it a lot easier although mines just a plain lvl 55-60 with vanguard I think.

You can get alpha pals and guaranteed rainbow traits sometimes multiple.
purple master fishing spots are guaranteed lunker passive and high chance for a different rainbow passive
Not really a guarenteed lunker but there’s a chance to get lunker . Purple seem to be more alpha than anything I findÂ
Purple pillar of light = Lunker
If there's a purple pillar of light above the fish shadow, guaranteed lunker plus high chance of other rainbow passives

Use the Surgery Table to add Serenity, Musclehead, & Ferocious to that Celaray. Then pair her with a male Robinquill in the Breeding Farm. You'll have the perfect combat Yakumo!
i'm in the process of making a felbat with Vampiric for even MORE healing, demon god, diamond body, and musclehead. i will change out musclehead for legend once i get paladus and necromus, i always go for those two first out of all the legends

Wouldn't it be better to breed the celaray as is and add the S/M/F on the yakumo that you know will be the one you use?
Nothing wrong with having perfect combat Passives on both Yakumo and its parents.
I would not say Ferocious is 'perfect' - Legend is the same amount of attack, but you also get 20% def. An elemental passive as well will give more damage than Ferocious. I would personally breed a Yakumo with Demon God/Vampiric (Legend cant be transferred with his passive), surgery table passives can always be added later, those rainbow passives can not. Serenity for sure, and Musclehead if you dont want to go through the trouble of passing down Legend but Vampiric is great (except maybe for raids)
Why Yakumo specifically?
Yakumo's ability has a chance of inheriting the doggo's Passives onto captured/fished Pals, humans, & Terraria creatures. Easiest way to pass down Demon God multiple times!

You gotta make sure Yakumo is out with you when doing the catching though. The partner effect is only active while Yakumo is actively out. Doesn't have to be attacking though. Just out of the sphere alongside you. Otherwise the partner skill does nothing. It's also a sadle skill, so you have to reach a higher level to unlock and then craft the saddle for the skill to be active. It's a more mid/early-late game thing for this reason since the saddle isn't unlocked until level 43.
Because Yakumo's passive has a chance of making newly captured pals have the same passives as the Yakumo.
Also, they're good dogs
And riding them is hilarious.

I bred a Yakumo with just Demon God. Makes it so it is the only possible thing it can pass on. I then went and caught Jetdragon. Only took 4 attempt to pass it on! Started breeding Jetdragon and got a random mutation for Vampric.
whats the point of that if its only for capturing pals and not eggs, who would you use that on?
It saves you alot more time compared to waiting for RNG to bless you with those Passives on eggs (thousands if you're unlucky) & gambling with Dr. Brawn. Very useful with those once-a-day Mythical Pals like Jetragon, Frostallion, Paladius, & Necromus.
nice, trying to do it on Neptillius with 4 water speed passives, but he's died twice so far, and not caught a single one, once he's level 65 that might help keep him alive, but its rough
Will work on that one then, done a good chunk of day pals with, Vamp, Remarkable, Art, Work Slave, need to work on an army.
I believe you can just wait until the ball is thrown to take him out

Fishing is crazy for good passives. I just bred myself a beautiful Felbat too 🥰
Fishing + Surgery table is super broken. That celeray can make a perfect Musclehead/Ferocious/Demon God/Serenity Yakumo with a single Robinquill breed.
I like the surgery table it seems completely fair to be able to apply up to gold quality traits and really helps with breeding early on to get decent but not godly pals.
Besides, it gives us one more use for gold, which isn't a bad thing.

I like it though cuz it makes breeding still relevant . You can get some good rainbow traits on pals then eventually go though breeding combos passing it onto other species . Now I got a line with swift and remarkable craftsmen I can make a lot of good pals breeding that combo onto each speciesÂ

True. Only missing Diamond body thanks to it. Purple with the pin looking icon above means Alpha + Rainbow passive while Green shine is Guaranteed Rainbow passive only.
Love fishing for skills, just need to pass that down with Nocturnal or make a dark pal, I can start breeding hoards for condensing lol

I only have the intermediate fishing rod and regular bait so maybe that’s part of the issue, but I am literally SO BAD at the fishing if it’s not at a beginner or intermediate spot :,(
Yeah, it's pretty easy to say that fishing is just the way to get rainbow passives now. Might finally find a Swift I can stick on a Yakumo, finally having a good mount Jetragon.
Is there a way to increase rainbow passives on fishing? Haven’t started fishing yet, just crafted my first rod. I’ve been going insane trying to get a pal with swift so I can start breeding mounts
No idea. You can tell which pals have those passives by either green sparkles or a purple beam of light, but I don't think there's any way of actively increasing their spawn rate since better rods and bait just make fishing easier. Think your best bet is just going from fishing spot to fishing spot, grabbing anything that looks promising.
Fish while Yakumo is out. That doggo can provide its own Passives onto fished Pals as well.
I believe the purple fishing spots are going to be Lunker, and green are any rainbow passives (that can naturally occur). Make sure you stop at those when you can! I believe bait also just changes the type of pal you get, so no worries on using the earlier baits either

Rewards for fishing definitely seem to be tuned quite high for how relatively easy it is to do and its low resource cost, although the Master tier glowing fish spots can be a bit of a nightmare with how much they move about. I think you can even get schematics from some spots.

To be fair you can barely see the renamon, the ragnahawk however covers like, 70% of the screen
