Made this to help me get into my speed run flow. Thought some of you might also find it useful
Thanks for making this! Is it worth it to grab the chests along the way or just straight to the boss chests? Afaik, they all have the same chance of dropping all the schematics, so should be worth it
Edit - it seems like the boss chests contain the weapon schematics (minus Excalibur), and the other chests contain the armor schematics as well as Excalibur. I was reading paldb incorrectly, but here are the 2 chest types in case anyone comes across this
https://paldb.cc/en/Yakushima02 - Boss chests
https://paldb.cc/en/Yakushima_Treasure - regular chests
Depends on what you want.
The pre-boss chests have the armor in it and excalibur. The boss chests have all the weapons in them. I don't think they have the armor.
This explains a lot lmao
Guess I just gotta rush to the end for my Terraprisma blueprints.
That is good to know, thanks! Aside from the Excalibur, looks like the damage from the helmets doesnt scale with quality either, so just grabbing one copy is fine unless you want the better defensive stats on them. I'll just be rushing to the end then it seems
might as well get the health too, wonder how high that stacks
Up to 50. Turns out there's a limit for the buffs like that, where your stat-ups and the stat items can't add up to more than 50.
I had 6664 health with the Terraria Armor on
yup, get 50 hearts, reset stats with wipe potion, redistribute points
All chests I think, but I have seen the weapon schematics drop the most from the boss chests while I often get armor schems from the others.
I've noticed that the chests are different. The boss chests contain the schematics for the Terraprisma, Terra Blade, Nightglow, and Vortex Beater. Meanwhile the non-boss chests contain the schematics for the Hallowed Armor, Hallowed helmet types, and Excalibur.
I was definitely reading paldb incorrectly and have update my comment for anyone who comes across this post, thanks!
Off topic but does anyone know what treasure fishing means in paldb?
Saving this for my wife who gets easily lost. Thanks
Left, right, left, right, straight, eye, exit
omg... I have been running this too much, I reccognize this pattern as the direct route to boss XD
The all loot route in my head is like this:
Right, Right, Right, Left, Straight, Right, Follow Break Walls starting with far Lefts
How do you get the Eye of Cthulhu mask/helmet?
I've been through the dungeon, caught the Eye three times and killed it at least seven, but still don't have it.
I only got it from the Eye boss. Took about 5 runs for me to drop. Only caught it the first time, then killed him the rest.
They make great transporters, worth catching a few imo
Thank you! I always get lost while mass capturing all those Terraria mons.
Damn, quality took a bit of a hit uploading... sorry folks
Still very helpful. Thanks
I thought I was on the Terraria subreddit and was getting very confused
Same haha I did the same thing. I thought they meant the terraria dungeon biome and I was like why is the start on the bottom?? I was so confused
Thanks so much for this!! What does the downward arrow stand for, though?
The drop into the purple caves
Thank you I somehow missed the new method
well... yeah, if you really want a lot of cheese on your palwich XD
Saves maybe 30 seconds but you lose out on 120k gold a run lol
not to mention about a thousand hallowed bars if you shotgun all the jars.
For some reason after killing the boss the chests don't spawn for me. There's just nothing there, just the portal to leave the dungeon. Anything in particular I might be doing wrong?
Took too long, I think. Check the timer. I’ve had that happen when I spent too much time hunting pals and ore.
You misunderstand. I've gone into this dungeon a few times and never seen a chest even once. I just cleared it, no chest. I went out and back in and went out of bounds to skip straight to the end, no chest.
Since the update dropped, there has never been a chest in this dungeon for me.
Thought I was going crazy with everyone talking about the stuff you can get and me not being able to find any of it, but yeah, no chests anywhere.
Do you have any mods installed? I had a mod installed prior that was messing with this and once I removed it, the chests showed up for me.
Assuming you do have mods installed, you can try updating them and see if that solves it for you.
Specifically any mods that modify the drops of any of the chests in the game no matter how minor it could be.
You were right, only updating the mod didn't work, it needed to be deleted.
There’s a timer?
Dungeon resets every hour or so.
Oh I thought you meant there was a timer to how long you can take to finish the dungeon.
This is awesome. Probably should have put it as a spoiler for those who didn't want to see it.
Is it the same layout every time?
Yep!
Wow, I assumed it would change. This is very helpful
Whew thank you kindly
THANK YOU 🫡
New player here. At what level should I start to attempt this dungeon. I'm currently at around lvl 35-ish.
The boss at the end is level 45, so around there is your safest bet.
I started in on this dungeon around 38 but it was a little rough in the latter half of it because of the level difference. I'd say if you wanted to try it now, you could give it a shot and use that as a benchmark, but otherwise getting a few more levels wouldn't hurt. It's not too difficult of a dungeon.
Thanks, my feeling is that if I’m going to need to grind for the terraprisma, I may as well get that started sooner rather than later.
They have not one but two lovelander rooms? interesting.
This is a lifesaver, thank you so much!
What's the downward arrow in the middle mean?
Its the room with the cliff that you have to jump/fall down
Can someone simplified it even more for me? Because you love me
Do all the legendary schematics come from the boss chests? Is that why this path avoids the other chests?
Omg sir thank you so much.
If I do not lose my save data, I will be using this. Thanks!
Thank you! I suck at dungeons in general if there’s no way to know where I’m going I always get lost and end up in the same 3 rooms over and over 😂
Thank you so much, that's gonna save me so much time, i'm terrible at finding my way in there, i've done it three time, it's a whole fourty minutes each time and i still haven't got a schematic for terraprisma
I got lost in the dungeon, so thank you for this layout!
Thanks! At first I didn't know you could break the gold walls and could never finish haha~
Thank you for the map! I've only run it a couple of times and kept getting myself turned around. This will be a big help.
Oh thank you. I got so lost and died on a newer save so hadn't had much inclination to re-enter. Maybe this will help!
I always make it to the final room by mistake and always get confused which one I took every time I go back in 😂
Brilliant, this is getting saved.
The hearts basically fill the same role as vitality elixirs, right?
Yes. But they also are worth 20k when selling
While neat for new players, I have a money printer in my factory base.
Because this has to be run a billion times, might as well get decent gold from it also. We have a humble 5mil gold but those surgery costs add up ;)
at the moment i am selling the purple orbs, but feel like i should be using something else for money
20 seconds extra per run adds up to quite a lot in a billion runs.
go from 1B to 1.2B
I'm too new to know what this is but I'm sure it looks fucking awesome
It's just a specialized assembly line. Pals with high handiwork skill can use it to turn metal bars into coins. It's a pretty terrible exchange rate, and it drops pal sanity fast, but an endgame production base will have ore surpluses in the millions so may as well use it.
Even an ore node base (still have mine from release patch) will be plenty enough to produce millions of coins. 100 coins per ingot, which is... 2 ore?
Yeah they so shoulda added heart lanterns that would've made them super useful
i dont even need the money printer. I just sell off excess vegetables from my plantations every couple days.
What's a good way to spend the gold on? It doesn't feel like there's anything worth buying.
The surgery table costs quite a bit to change passives. 10k for white passives and 50k for yellow. And if they release rainbow ones (which is apparently already in code) then it will probably be 100k or more for those
Ew money printer lol
Why you gotta piss another's fun like that? Coulda just said you don't see the point or something.
Wait they sell that much damn I know what I'm going to do next time I get on
WHAT
The hearts also respawn after like a minute.
... While you're in the dungeon? really?
Yep, I've grabbed three or four of them while battling the pals right around it trying to catch the cheeky buggers since I started going there well before I was properly equipped for it. Everything was slow and a struggle but it was worth it cause now I'm rich and have much better items! =D
and you can farm them much quicker.
