No idea what's going on here
Quagmireās buttplug collection here. This is a comparison of the killer in the movie No Country For Old Men where the killer uses compressed air to murder his victims. Not sure how that works in reference to the characters here. Interested to know how that plays into this.
Im a member of subreddit that these characters came from, its an anime called azumanga daioh and the kid name is chiyo. Basically, most of the members there hate (in a humorous way) chiyo sometimes for a not reasonable reason. She is too smart and skipped class, but the trio that the mc (osaka) was part is extremely dumb, again in a humorous way. Chiyo cries a lot tho so that's that...
It must feel legendary knowing the specific charecters and references in the memes posted here. Thank you for the explanation
Yeah i recognized the at style but have never watched the show but have seen clips and chino "the girl" is sort of the punching bag for the story of i understand correctly
It's not a very good explanation in the context of Azumanga Daioh though. Chiyo really isn't hated at all (not even in a humorous way). She is often the butt of her friend's jokes because she's tiny, gullible, and adorable, but it's a far cry from hated. The only person that could be argued as 'hating' her is one of her best friends Tomo because Tomo is the hyperactive, overly competitive one that can easily bully a small child like Chiyo, but even then they're infinitely closer to friends than 'frenemies.' Chiyo 'cries a lot' because she's a ten year old girl dealing with her friend's weird antics (her crying is never anything serious, it's just part of her character). And while it's true she is a genius (that's why she's in high school at ten), her only friends that are 'extremely dumb' are Osaka, Tomo, and Kagura. There are like fifteen other main characters beyond them...
The person in this art with Chiyo is Kagura (or at least looks the closest to her). Kagura doesn't bully Chiyo much at all from what I remember. Most of her personality is just sports. I have no idea why she would be chosen for this art over Tomo; at least there's a world where Tomo pulls this kind of prank on Chiyo. Kagura would never. And she doesn't even dress like that. Hell, that's not even the right skin tone.
This art makes no sense.
Not hated by the characters but the people in a humorous way.. atleast on insta from what I've seen
Is she the one who someone dreamt about killing (accidentally), plucking off her pig tails and using them to fly away?
This is the kind of context that is super important. I appreciate you! š
I mean, not enough to pay Reddit for an award though. Nothing personal. They pimp us out.
That's definitely Chiyo on the left, but who is the one on the right supposed to be? No way that's Osaka... Kagura, maybe?
In any case, I don't think there's really a joke about the characters to "get." It's just supposed to be funny to see the girls from this happy cutesy slice-of-life anime in a violent situation.
I think it's tomo chan
They don't really look alike, though. I can kind of see it fitting Tomo and Chiyo's dynamic, since Tomo's recklessness does tend to put Chiyo in danger, but I don't see how the character in the meme resembles Tomo.
Itās referencing the movie
Also the original character in No Country is āChigurhā which is similar sounding.
Ahh so sheās an anime meg in a sense.
but chiyo is the best character (alongside sakaki), pengi chiyo!
Jesus Azumanga Daioh is a name I haven't heard in about 15 years
Not exactly compressed air alone. Itās a cattle puncher. It uses compressed air to launch a rod into the skull of a cow to kill it and then retracts
Compressed air, much like high pressure washer (pressure washer) can "punch" through materials, (including metal, DO NOT put your hand in front of a pressure washer nozzle) if the pressure is high enough.
not compressed air but a captive bolt pistol (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captive_bolt_pistol)
They include some murders in that Wikipedia article and damn would that be a shitty way to go if used not on the head.
I thought it was not just compressed air but the compressed air was used to extend a spike or rod.
Compressed air that drives a bolt* It's a bolt gun for like slaughter houses and such
Iām literally in the middle of watching this movie š
Itās soooo good. No way first time. Right?
I need a rewatch. Itās been a couple years. Streaming or local? If steaming, where?
It's on Netflix (at least for me)
Thank you! š
Thank you! š
Apparently there are plenty of options.
Havenāt seen it. Why is it good? No spoilers please
Not gonna lie I thought it was a homemade lightsaber
"Total Chiyo Death" is a meme of Chiyo getting hurt or maimed.
Um... didn't Anton Chiguer use a suppressed shotgun? Im almost positive he did.
Not at first, but towards the end.
Movie critic Peter is here. No country for old men movie is an answer. This scene is from this movie. He holds a pneumatic bull killing device.
It's captive bolt gun and is used for cattle "stunning". It is the first step in the slaughter process and it doesn't kill them. The gun drives a retractable pin into the brain that goes just far enough to destroy any consciousness but leaves the brain stem intact so the animal is left alive in a vegetative state. The animal is then hoisted up by its rear legs, and its carotid arteries are cut and the animal is finally killed by exsanguination, allowing the heart and gravity to do most of the work. This makes the rest of the processing far less messy.
I'm thankful for a good answer for the request. And the explanation, but also not happy with the explanation. Still have a thumb up, kind/not kind stranger.
I was wondering how cows got slaughtered. I always thought there was some kind of animal guillotine
The process is the same for pretty much all four legged livestock.
Poultry on the other hand, is more or less exactly how you describe.
Yes, as everyone said, it references No Country For Old Men⦠but the characters are Chiyo and Tomo from Azumanga Daioh.
It's Kagura, not Tomo
I thought the skin color was too light for it to be Kagura⦠and also the attitude feels more like Tomo.
Same
Chiyo-chan! Oh no!
(from Azumanga Daioh)
What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Chiyo?

Referencing a scene in the movie No country for Old Men where a character murders another character using a pneumatic air gun that is typically design/sold for the purpose of humanely killing livestock like cows / ox/ etc
That's an air powered brain stabber piston
I haven't seen the movie in reference, but I do adore Azumanga Daioh
What's the most you've ever lost in a coin toss-u?
I don't get the anime reference, but this is a famous kill scene from No Country for Old Men. The antagonist, Anton Chigurh, uses a cattle stun gun to punch a hole in the driver's head.
No country for kawaii
Harro Everynyan
"No country for old man" scene
Lightsabior
A coen brothers masterpiece
TOTAL CHIYO DEATH!!!
Itās a compressed air blower. People will point it at someoneās forehead, someone with long bangs that cover it up, and then blow the hair to reveal their forehead, usually to comedic effect.
No Country For Old Men
That's an air driven piston used in slaughterhouses to humanely crush the brains of the animals it's used to kill.
She's about to be Tsukurimashot
OP, so your post is not removed, please reply to this comment with your best guess of what this meme means! Everyone else, this is PETER explains the joke. Have fun and reply as your favorite fictional character for top level responses!
