I can't talk about "blocking a program to access internet" on a piracy subreddit??
Can anyone explain how am I infringing their copyright rules?
You're not, but Adobe or the copyright company they pay love to abuse the copyright law.
on a piracy subreddit?
This is irrelevant, the notice came from Reddit.
I got several of those from posts that I did over 10 years ago.
The posts?
Photos from an influencer that she posted herself on IG, so public photos.
This place is a joke.
Lmfao
She still owns them as she took them, doesnt matter where she uploads them but the stupid part is posting on reddit is fair use.. you dont get paid for updoots or awards so that's the stupidest shit i have ever heard. Its not like u put them on onlyfans
You do now, with the contributor program.
What the fuck
If your account is safe for work you can get paid for what is basically regular use.
Wow... I need it

I don't think getting paid is a factor in whether something is fair use or not.
You can't just upload a full movie to reddit/yt just because you do it for free.
Fair use is using something for education or discussion, so if you get paid its no longer fair use.
so if you get paid its no longer fair use.
It can be.
They have a copyright on hostile consumer practices
Being on the market has sent this whole site down the shitter.

Blue sky is just as bad, and there’s just as many psychos in there as there is on Reddit.

Not so much
Fun fact: you committed a crime! Under the DMCA, providing others the means to circumvent copyright access controls is a criminal offense, even if no infringement occurs! What a great law that totally isn't abused by corporations to literally criminalize behavior they don't like by wrapping it in DRM.
Hey that's me! Idk why it's been taken down tho.
They're in this thread reading your comments.
Everyone should let them know you're going to go steal their programs!
It's not that you are. Not everything that is moderated is done so fairly. Reddit has an increasingly high amount of censorship. I asked for study tips on a forum that was all about sharing study tips and ran into issues, because it registered it as me asking for pirated material when I wasn't. I don't know where we can go any more that's safe, not on the internet at least. I miss that. The internet used to be a means to free speech. Now, it's like everywhere and everything else.
One my posts asking for a video edit was taken down cuz of what i asked for. I said fuck it and moved on. I hate it here

That's just poorly setup automod that isn't related to reddit admins.
It's the people. There's more authoritarians now more than ever. It makes them feel good and powerful to have the ability to control masses of the publics freedom and speech.
Even certain political leaning people are censored over the other, leading to Reddit looking extremely slanted one way.
I don't take either sides myself, but I see it, and Reddit makes a ton of sense since the behavior is pretty typical even outside of Reddit.
i forget, but dont we have a non-reddit forum to go to if this place gets zapped? possibly fmhy related?
Lemmy. It's listed as the "backup forum" on the megathread.
I would strongly advise you to appeal and that is all I'm going to say.

(boys what's that script hand it to me while whispering shhhhh don't let the lawyers see us)
ʷᶦⁿᵐᵃˢᵗᵉʳᵇˡᵒᶜᵏᵉʳ
thanks
Seems like Adobe has hired some help to go after people.
I just got warning for a comment I left a month ago that had 5 upvotes where, I think, linked to [Popular Activator that even had a subreddit] new site.
If you need to sanitize your profile of any possible links, use RES and apply a basic filter on your profile so it autoloads as many pages as it can and only shows comments with that filter content.
I got the exact same thing. For the exact same reason.
Adobe is going scorched earth on Reddit comments.
a third party reported...
yeah humans don't check all of them one by one probably
I'm not an artist therefore not an Adobe user, but this shizz makes me want to become a prolific designer who feeds off of piracy.
That's all that you need to know about reddit
Btw, isn't one of the reddit founders finished his life because of the copyright lawsuit?
Of course it's Adobe, they're one of the worst companies around. No wonder everyone pirates their products, they deserve it.
Adobe probably filed a report against it.
sounds like adobe knows all about this sub and all our sources for their stuff, free
This should be a given. Adobe is full of people and those people's best interests are to protect their assets, just like it's the people's best interests in this subreddit to find out how to work around that. Same old shit, different day. One group scheming against another. If you think about it, even pirates scheme against each other, the people involved in cracking software try to beat other scene groups to the punch.
I got banned on the Adobe subreddit and I don't even know what I said. XD
I literally just blank entirely when I think about whatever I must've posted that pissed off Adobe.
Don't be like a Fortune 500 company. Be better :)
I've gotten this too for sending links in the piracy software sub. It also was fucking sending links for Adobe software. RedditCanSuckMyDong
Adobe would watermark Epstein's collection if they could.
Fuck Adobe.
adobe been improving their social media game since taking down genp
Adobe runs the biggest software extortion mafia out there. They should be punished. 🏴☠️
I have never heard about that script on github that disable connections to Adobe servers
Its adobe misusing copyright because they are cunts.
Reddits moderation is a fucking joke, other day I got temp banned for making a reference to doom eternal. It got appealed and overturned but still, the moderation is a joke. Also letting people abuse copyright like this too
Can't wait till both Assdobe's jannies and the reddit jannies all get replaced by AI
portmaster firewall, no need for any dodge software. takes a bit to get your head around but better than any other piece of software for blocking connections (dont trust windows firewall or host files btw)
You need to message them and request a copy of the takedown notice. Reddit has to provide this to you by law.
We might have a problem if they keep this up
I don’t understand what is “blocking a program to access internet”
Firewall? Block outgoing connection?
There are no links to the github. How is this copyright infringement?
whatever. worst case you get a 3 day or so ban
I think I remember that thread!
Gotta check if it's still up to see if it has the link that I saved.🤞
Yeah reddit is fucked nowadays. Got banned for condemning rapists which apparently is 'hate speech'
this is the start of the end, bookmark the back ups!
where are them? 😨
Can you share the link of the GitHub?
Ty 🙏🐐
Wow it's s just so weird they named it called "WinMasterBlocker" on GitHub. Because GitHub became super weird and changed even their default repositories. Instead of "master" they tell people to use "main" as the repository. I mean there are bunch of other things GitHub has changed I guess but that's pretty ironic that they allow such a name for a utility. Though mainly it's under some. sort of "triggering" wave if I remember correctly.
Yeah thats Reddit taking action on a removal request they received from Adobe. It just so happened to be posted on this sub, the sub didn't do it to you.
But it definitely makes me want to pirate some Adobe products even though I don't use them.
If you are interested, I heard there's a script on github which disables internet connection for every possible adobe app at once, and also provides other softwares like corel, autocad etc.
Don't have a link with me for it, but you can try searching on the web "a script on github which disables internet connection for every possible adobe app at once, and also provides other softwares like corel, autocad etc." and should be able to find it or anything related.
Jokes aside, I think the best step moving forward would be for everyone to move to other tools. If you are pirating adobe, you are still giving them ""market share"" by requiring or making tutorials. Let them disappear into oblivion.
That's interesting, would've never guessed that there's a script on GitHub which disables internet connection for every possible adobe app at once, that also provides other softwares like Corel, autocad and etc. Quite the great find
I also would like to remind everyone:
I heard there's a script on github which disables internet connection for every possible adobe app at once, and also provides other softwares like corel, autocad etc.
THERE IS A SCRIPT ON GITHUB WHICH DISABLES INTERNET CONNECTION FOR EVERY POSSIBLE ADOBE APP AT ONCE?!
Honestly I had no idea there was a script on GITHUB WHICH DISABLES INTERNET CONNECTION FOR EVERY POSSIBLE ADOBE APP AT ONCE?!
I had given up on Adobe products a long time ago and switched to open source stuff but this script on GITHUB WHICH DISABLES INTERNET CONNECTION FOR EVERY POSSIBLE ADOBE APP AT ONCE sounds so easy!
I'd like to thank Adobe for bring it to my attention!
Why use a script when you have a firewall that does the job well
Im assuming its a script that adds rules to your firewall, just like that script that adds rules to your firewall to block autodesk programs.
To windows firewall, not to your actual firewall. I wouldn't trust windows firewall as far as I can throw my computer and will stay safely behind my FMC that I have setup.
Why?
As far as I can tell, the script is just a batch file that adds firewall rules.
You can do it yourself, but you might miss one.
I personally just have my own batch file that blocks all .exe files in an entire folder (and subfolders), so I can be lazy and do it all at once without having to manually create entries and possibly miss one.
Does this method involve me installing steam to a different directory? That's a level of customization that is a bridge too far. /s
Will never happen. They're still MASSIVE players in the corporate world.
which is ridiculous bc the tech isnt that great fr
gtfo of here w acrobat pro to make forms and sign documents 😭😭😭
Wow that sounds like a win. People who makes it are master. It works like some sort of blocker.
I hate Adobe as a personal consumer, but they're a juggernaut in the commercial world. They've got the development pipeline down and you can easily bring in team members for their specific part without having any program management challenges between access, file types, or version control.
All of which makes sense to price as a subscription and charge so much for access to one piece. For a company with multiple moving parts.
As a consumer is a giant pain in the ass, with pricing that doesn't line up with the features used by a solor creator or hobbiest. Im in the opposite camp, make the tutorials and always include a strange posted in the back with a pirate flag to remind the viewer that they shouldn't be paying corporate prices unless they're a corporation.
If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing. Or in this case, don't pay unless you're making money.
For video editing you have Davinci Resolve the performance is way way better than Adobe, the interface needs to get used to a little bit, their product selling practice is more ethical than Adobe. But vector drawing or photo editing, I don't think any software comes close to it...
You can also use something like PiHole or your router to manage your outgoing connections. If you want total control add them to your local hosts file. Any script is likely doing just that.
With these methods you can reliably block any unwanted network connections. All you need to know is the domain name you want to block.
Boykotting adobe is a great thing but sadly they have some of the best products.
I have searched the internet far and wide for a FOSS alternative to substance 3d painter and got a whole lot of nothing.
I tried Affinity Designer and I loved it. I hope the new owner won't jinx it.
Unfortunately I invested way too much in after effects to just ''Move on''. We're talking years of experience so it's not as easy as that. There are also no solid replacement for after effects as far as I'm aware. Photoshop? Yeah sure.
I moved away from Premiere pro to DaVince Resolve and haven been living a very good life, I am learning Fusion but still need to pop over to AE every once in awhile because of how much Templates and Plugins are available for AE and its going to take a good amount of time for Fusion to have that kind of resources available. And then there is just no alternative for Photoshop. Yes canva and whatever else is very good but to a power user Photoshop and Illustrator are just unmatchable.
No replacement for after effects? After effects sucks. Fusion is free, nuke is WAY better, even Houdini's compositing mode is better by a lot.
I never said there is no alternative. Please read my comment again. I said the amount of Template and Plugins that AE has just makes life so much easier because Fusion is very new and doesn't have as much Templates and plugins. I'm sorry if I offended you by my comment.
30 years old
No one cares enough to be offended, it's just nonsense to say this when there are millions who do exactly what after effects does and never touch it. Compositing and motion graphics isn't rocket science.
I actually once pirated a bunch of adobe products that I don't use. I really only use photoshop
based, as the kids would say.
im going to pirate everything they own so they somehow lose money because piracy is theft, and im still going to use gimp instead of photshop!
Since adobe was mentioned, a more direct way to hurt them is to abandon them completely. I know, this is a piracy subreddit. But I saw this today (Gpu Accelerated RAW file tool) and thought it might be of use someone.
