I've used steam unlocked on ~25 games and they all worked fine.
When someone says a source is unsafe, it doesn't mean the game won't work. They'll likely still work just fine, and you may not even notice any issue with what you've downloaded (or even have any issues)... the problem with unsafe sources are that you're running the unnecessary risk of infecting your computer with something nasty. Not all viruses can be wiped away with a quick scan.
Steamrip is way better and is an actually safe website

Well, whatever works best for you. Imo steamrip has a wider range of games but i generally only use cs.rin, i downloaded from steamun like once or twice in my early pirating days and almost got a trojan so i'm not fond of it.

People with super shit internet use repacks mainly, the idea is that you don't have to spend days at a time downloading a 100gb game and only have to spend a day downloading and unpacking a 20gb repack. It also works for anyone on a limited connection, if you only have 50 gigs to play with each month you don't waste it all on one game.
Honestly it works if you hoard installers, like the backlog you have from your Steam Sales that you never install. Having the installers on hand is nice to have while having more of them available from compressed size.

also, nowadays, a lot of newbies use shit like fitgirl's repacks because they got their own website & it's a safe and easy source to get a hold of all the triple A titles for people that aren't too much into the whole scene (they also mostly think fitgirl actually cracks those games, lol)

Don't use steamunlocked, theres nothing wrong with fitgirl but use steamrip instead.
well for one, fitgirl mostly just packs the popular & trendy games - so for niche & indie stuff you're definitely missing out on that end.
on the other hand, repacks are simply useless for anyone not living in the third world or with stoneage internet - unless it's for archiving purposes, that's a different story (so grabbing RUNE cracks directly, aka the cracks that 90% of fitgirls repacks are based on, is just a quicker and easier way to get them if you're able to get a hold of them)
in terms of public sites i'd say cs.rin gaps fitgirl and any other public site by far, for games
steamrip also exists, though i prefer cs.rin over steamrip personally.
for private sites / more advanced torrenting stuff, GGN gaps all of them combined x10, especially in terms of retention & indie + niche games.
a lot easier to get into private sites like Torrentleech or FileList gap fitgirl at least, not so much cs.rin for indies though.

Beacuse scene has non compressed installers - by rules, they CAN'T compress, so it install faster.

What I understood is that the better download places are mostly invite and/or buy in only. I have a friend who's on one and they can't get others on it.
If so, it's not strange that many people are on the other accessible websites to get their games. These repacks seem to work well, so I don't see what's inferior about it. Seems smart, downloading less to get the same result.
