I don't understand the benefit a modded switch have over Emulation.
I have a landline at home but I would use it with my friends in a small house (the famous American chill house)
I'm sorry, but how are you going to emulate games on either of them when the progression has slowed to a crawl? Newer games don't run very well on either emulator and even older games have problems... You basically need a console at this point to enjoy any of them without the random crashes and graphical issues.
this is enough to do everything it's a v1 so you do it with rcmloader you can buy it and if you shut it down you stick that rcm loader thing on the sdie turn it on with volume up and inject payload refer to r/SwitchPirates for more info but yeah this is good a little on the expensive side imo but it will work and this is pretty much what i have
Yeah, that is a lot expensive… other switch are 120/130 and the oled 150/160 so idk maybe i should mod one on my own? I never modded complex thing, i modded 5 3ds, 2 psp and a ps vita, a wii and a wii u, never a switch
Later versions of the Switch need soldering a modchip directly on the motherboard. The devices you've mentioned require softmodding and it's good that you can do that, that will come in handy but you'll have to pay someone with professional equipment to do the modchipping for you (or get a pre-modded Switch but you will have to learn how to update the hack and so on regardless).
modding on your own is HARD you can mod on your "own" a v1 switch when i got my v1 in april last year i could get a premodded v2 with not much for a lot of money a v1 with stuff for around the price of yours or a v1 without much stuff (does have joycons and dock) for like in usd 180 or you can find on ebay just the tablet v1 and buy everything eles (joycons dock etc) but that might be more expensive than a v1 without much stuff (like my case)
Its expensive because its the first version that can be modded very easily. Others will be either harder or impossible.
if you want to update you will need to know how to install the new version of atmosphere depending on if the switch is chipped or not(considering it's a v1 it might not be) you might want to avoid turning it off completely but that depends on if it's an emunand or a sysnand (the first one is installed on the sd card and leaves the internal storage intact the other one doesn't) also you won't be able to go online except for a few games that have private servers or third party games with a modding community like fortnite or minecraft

as others have said, it would be better to buy a v1 switch that isn't hacked and do it yourself, but if you choose to buy this anyways
-the rcm loader is that small rectangular thing with the usb sticking out with the red clip on it
-you will need to know how to load whatever homebrew is on the sd card already and how to add your own
-you need to ask if autorcm is already turned on, if they say no you'll need to keep in mind that you will have to put it into rcm yourself either with a paperclip or a jig if it gets turned off
-make sure everything works
You can always buy switch oled and picofly mod, if you can't solder the mod to the console by yourself find someone who would do this
you can play switch games on a steamdeck
don't buy pre modded switches. buy an unmodded V1 and follow switch.hacks.guide. this teaches you how to fix shit so if something breaks you won't be stuck
To all fairness i did it once and by the time i needed to update atmosphere i had to go back to the tutorials coz i forgot. But updating is also not very difficult just replacing the content of the SD card basically.
