Wintlink-

they try to milk us as much as they can, people don't have cd's, they made the streaming so easy, just a little subscription instead of having to download / buy the content, it was so great to switch from having to use a dvd reader with a ton of dvd, to just a platform that just work, but in the end, it's not expensive, the shows are not great, the price rise even if there is way more people paying.
The money you pay into these services never reach the pocket of the people involved in the artistic creation, it goes directly into the wallet of the netflix investors.

If they do reach the actors pockets it is pennies.

Yeah, but it's like a penny over a year to one actor

The quality of the older Star trek series on Paramount+ is apalling considering they own the ip. The ones on Netflix looked better. I know some of the shows can't be remastered to HD but the scaling was so poorly done. There are interacting issues and the compression softened the contrast a little.

I got so fed up I downloaded them.

I just did the same with the older Star Trek series, but because the closed captions are completely unacceptable for a service you pay for. A LOT of spelling and grammar mistakes in every single episode. Can't speak to the other shows on Paramount+ since I only watched the old Star Trek shows on it but I can't imagine it's much better if they cant even bother with a major franchise like Star Trek. Thankfully, I'm not paying for it myself. My friend shared their password with me. It's so bad I don't even want to use it for free.

I wouldn't mind so much if the streaming services were offering value for money but most are just stuffed full of in-show ads or upselling ads everywhere you look.

Amazon Prime content being an example where piracy gives you a far superior experience.

Most of these live services are pushing a model of constant income. Welcome aboard.

The constant barrage of interruptions I like to call hijacking lol aka ads Injected into streaming services we already pay for is doing everyone’s head in. It’s gotten to be so bad, it annoys me more than cable ever did bc I used to pay less to have zero ads and now they charge more and ads are everywhere. They keep removing my shows to put them on another app they want me to buy. Hell no. Glad I kept my physical media. I have thousands. Rip them to a server. I’m almost done with streaming. I plan to kill the last accounts next month. Over it.

IDK why you would bother with streaming, except with Plex and that competitor of Plex that streams your own library

I get stuff on DVD that I want to rewatch, the rest I love to enjoy with my parrot at home. If necessary, I'll upgrade to a wooden leg and eyepatch.

I'm not a pirate but I do often sail the high seas on Archive.org , and a host of other free streaming services that can be found by asking your friend and mine Google. Or check this { https://fmhy.net/videopiracyguide#streaming-sites

Quit the bullshit, save your reasons, and just do it. No need to tell anyone.
