Meanwhile in the code: protected complaints; Only accessible by Sales class. Devs sleeping in private scope.

More than 25 years working as dev and never saw sales doing that. It is usually, get your life I sold the product, now is your problem. Obviously, what they sold wasn't even planned by anyone
my favourite is always "you know that feature you estimated at six months if we hire two new devs? yeah! I managed to sell it to the client by promising it in a week with a 20% discount. Aren't i great!"
Well at least dev doesn't need to sit in many meetings with customer. Hopefully...
