i go beyond ctrl+c ctrl+v. when i wanna capitalize text i have a command alias for python -c "import sys; print(sys.argv[1].upper())" so i can easily capitalize things i copypaste

I never had this problem until recently. I think windows made Ctrl C less reliable in 10 or 11.

This would not be reqiluired when it just work all the tham time! It is just over lats years somehow software or maybe Os become less interactive with keyboard and short cuts.
For some reason VNC, which I use a lot, has issues with copy and paste. Something about Windows having two forms of clipboard? IDK. Anyway my muscle memory is now ctrl+c, ctrl+space (to launch Launchy), ctrl+v, ctrl+a ctrl+c, ctrl+space (close launchy).
Now hopefully the text is in the right clipboard to work in VNC. Maybe.

I just put ctrl+c, ctrl+v, and ctrl+s on side mouse buttons next to left click to avoid errors.

Some clipboard managers will give a notification whenever it changes what’s on your clipboard, but ik that gets annoying fast for some people. Wish there was a better solution
If you use a keybind to copy instead of highlighting and copying I like making the editor or IDE flash a highlight over the copied text momentarily.
Just gives you that confirmed feedback and makes such a difference to me.
I have KDE on my PC and my phone with the clipboard sync enabled. I code with my phone screen on so everytime I copy something, my phone will show a notification that something has been copied. Then, I'm sure that I can paste it.
