I actually had the same worry when this first went viral and messaged a bit with the son of the owner of this Korean bbq restaurant. He posted it himself and is aware of how much attention itās gotten. He knows how many people have been inspired by his familyās care for their employees. š„¹

Her movements are clear and concise - she takes the tool from one worker - while directing the rest to the far corner where she knows the one blind spot is for front of house - clocks the view to the restaurant on her way to the side door - AND has the presence of mind to casually remove a tripping hazard while checking if the coast is clear - nails the "GO! GO! GO!" form perfectly - then immediately goes to check on the situation/other employee

It's still worth fighting against the term "illegals" since they are, at worst, undocumented workers; but many of the folks being targeted are documented and in various processes for citizenship - even US citizens are being caught up in these nets and deported.

This is a cynical viewpoint and I donāt fault you for taking it. I believe there is some truth to it, but itās not the case for all employers.
My family runs a wholesale and distribution business, and our temp hiring is all done through a temp agency. It is pretty much an open secret in SoCal that the temp agencies can and do include undocumented immigrants, and itās basically become a ādonāt ask donāt tellā type of system.
The temps are still paid wages equivalent to what a full-time employee would make in the same role, and they work the same hours. Unfortunately, because theyāre not full time they donāt get health insurance and some other benefits. In many cases thatās the best we can do for them because while some temps who have papers can and do get converted to full time hires, the undocumented ones canāt be converted to full time because of their immigration status.
We have several ātempsā who have been working here for years. We take care of them the best we can.
Your assertion that all companies exploit undocumented workers all the time is, I think, oversimplified and fails to see the big picture. My company is not the only business that operates this way.

When I was going through the process of becoming a US citizen I always hated going to USCIS buildings. The contempt just radiated off of a lot of those people from security guards to clerks. Felt super hostile being in there, like I was under a microscope

I've honestly thought about joining ICE and working as a double agent, informing businesses of incoming raids, and actively working against them from the inside. But also then I would work for ICE and if I get caught I would be put in Guantanamo Bay for life and never see my family again.

Itās really odd how little new ice agents are paid. Googled it and the homeland security website says they start at gs-5, which is approximately 33,000$/year. They hit gs-11 in 7-8 years which is 130,00$, but those are command/leadership positions that youāre competing with your colleagues for.
