I stretch and warm up and will still sometimes pull something doing nothing...
I cried laughing.
I think I broke my neck though
I tried to pick up my phone that fell the other day, had to be taken to the hospital, I’m in my 30s and I have the bone density of a 65 year old
I came to swat a fly the other day and dislocated my shoulder in 5 places
i turned my head to look at something behind me while laying on the couch and pulled a muscle in my neck so bad i had to take 2 days off work. getting old sucks lol
I laid down with my baby to get her to sleep last night and my back kept cramping. I was LAYING IN THE BED!
Gluten, Gluten is killing us all. (Gluten Issue legit.did this to my child.)
I hurt my shoulder just typing this.
yeah wtf... this is the comment i was looking for
Great minds think alike! I was like really… no one saw how weird that was?! Be the change you want to see! lol 😂
A friend told me that their bf hurt themselves due to an old sports injury and asked if I could guess how.
I guessed everything except 'playing the sport'
That guy is supposed to be 30? I must have turned 25 instead of 40 last month
He says 37
For real, he’s aging kind of HARD. The mustache is also a very mature look for 37
I know some of this pain, In my experience you gotta stretch everyday and hit every muscle group with deep 30 second+ stretches when you do it. Especially problem areas.
It's brutal on me as I'm naturally not that flexible but it stopped me from pulling something every time I had a kickabout with some friends. On the plus side you can do it while watching tv or something
Anyone reading this: If you make it a routine when you wake up and before going to sleep, you’ll feel far far better day to day. Absolute game changer
Dead hang off shit as well. Very good for posture/back issues
Not recommended for everyone, for some this makes it worse.
One thing that will work everytime is learning to engage your core ALL DAY. This does improve posture
Thanks for reasonable advice I can relate to. Makes me feel less defective.
Always start with shoulder warm up/stretches and only then proceed to your neck. Otherwise you'll end up like that dude in the video. And if it did happen and you got yourself a neck-shoulder pain, isometric exercises is the best solution in my personal experience, not only they relief the pain, but also reduce the recovery time from about a week to a few days if you do them regularly. Video as example, but applying pressure for a longer time is better, imo. And for forward/backward pressure you can simply put your forehead/back of your head against the wall using something like a towel as a pad. https://youtu.be/Ik6U4kIMmsg?si=uqmOfed5yXUx88Lm
For me a daily yoga routine really sorted this issue out.
10 seconds on the stretching
I’d say that’s not long enough personally
Yeah u right, stretching is the actual key.
41 and I stretch myself out like a mfer before doing any exercise or sport. I can still get a foot behind my head once I’m warmed up.
Now the wrong pillow? That could fuck me up for 3-4 days.
Fuck don’t tell me that lol I need hope not a reality check
I went to bed early! Good for me! 8,5 hours of great sleep! Nope, you rolled off the pillow halfway through now your lower back and neck are fucked. See you next week!
Try late 40’s.
These kids have no idea, am I right?
The 70 year olds are yelling at you guys too lol
To get off their lawn?
Tbh I'm 35 and I can't connect to these memes at all. My body is, doesn't hurt, can do sport, all okay. The people must treat their bodies like shit
You must have a desk job
I have, but I'm sure many here complaining about their body falling apart also have one (probably smoking/drinking, no sports for a decade, etc)
Quite the opposite. Don’t drink, never smoked, grew up with rugby 5 days a week, military and mining, the miles on the body make training like I used to very hard. You’ve probably don’t put your body through much punishment to be feeling so good.
Probably don't! Damn, guess that makes me better at this whole being alive thing then.
Doubt there a virtue either way, only an explanation as to why some people develop pain and injuries vs those who dont. You're free to think you are better than others because you haven't endured much physically if thats what floats your boat.
Go back in time, spend a decade doing physical labor, and you’ll get it
That’s a better way of saying “tool”
There’s nothing wrong with work a desk job.

I'm only early-mid 40's and my joints creaked just reading your comment.
I felt like garbage in my late 30s back hurt neck hurt, I had a torn calf that like never recovered.
At 39 I quit drinking, quit nicotine, started working out again and now at 40 I'm stronger and more flexible than I have ever been. I feel amazing. My back only hurts if I go to heavy on deadlift. It's the only lift thing I'm not quite there yet. I used to rep 405lbs but I'm not quite there yet. I did 315lbs for 30 reps last week and still feel it today.
I have your old lifestyle shit symptoms and yet I live like a fucking monk. Go figure. When I turned 30, my body was like "oh you wanna keep being athletic all the time, nah fuck you". Now a good week with no pains and aches is a good memorable week 😂😂
You lifting heavy?
so what's the secret man? everything fuckin hurts. shoulders hurt, knees hurt. I quit drinking and nicotine, too, but it's only been a month. Things are starting to feel better, but I'm scared I might be this way forever. I want to stay active, damnit!
seriously what's the secret?
It definitely takes time to recover now because it takes focus and effort. We move a lot less as we get older and I think we are meant to move. People will tell you you need to slow down and that things like squats will hurt you. Those people are wrong, and usually in horrible shape. I realized the guys that needed knee replacements and those kinds of things spent 30 years not being active..
I learned I can't ignore injuries and pain those things used to heal kinda on their own but now they take focus and actions. Ice, heat, stretching. If it hurts do those like everyday. I had foot pain and realized I needed to change all my shoes to have a wider toe box. You need to listen to your body and take action. Lifting heavy weights also is good for you. It increases testosterone, and all kinds of other. Stuff that makes you feel better.
It took me at least a year of no drinking to really start to feel better..
Also I do believe that certain foods especially processed foods cause inflammation and inflammation causes pain.
I think the staying moving bit is the real answer here. I had a sedentary lifestyle between the ages of 20 and 24, felt like shit and had aches and pains all over. I joined the National Guard at 25 and got moving for the first time in years and shit started to go away. I'm about to turn 30 here in two months, started running 5k a day recently to lose weight, and feel better than I did in my early 20's.
Hell, just look at the 60's plus crowd and you'll see how important it is to stay moving. My maternal grandpa retired in his 50's, sat down in his Lay-Z-Boy, and stayed there. He died in 2020 right before COVID hit. My paternal grandpa retired, got bored, went back to work, and is still going pretty strong. Staying moving is good for the brain and body, it's what we're evolved to do.
For sure it's movement, I was behind a desk and behind the wheel for years I went got really stiff and everything hurt. But you gotta find motivation and eliminate excuses. Most people find a reason they can't do something anymore instead of a solution to the problem. It's really easy to be like well shit my leg don't work no more guess Im done running. What's hard is to work on that leg everyday.
A couple months ago I decided It was unacceptable that I could not rest in a squat squat flat footed. I've been working on that, and making slow progress.
"The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts."
I think you mean this guy looks 40, but he does look 40.
No, I mean try hitting the gym in your late 40’s.
Late 30s is the new late 40s
I'm trying it and not liking it.
30? Your heart is still pumping purple piss good buddy.
I'm at that age and I don't know what you all are talking about. The worst I have is a low right shoulder because of extensive gaming. A mouse shoulder, if you will.
Been doing some exercises and it's improving.
I had to call into work Sunday night because I slept wrong and hurt my back.
Every morning my spine feels worse than the time I went to bed. I thought it’s a natural thing after you turn 30)
Time for a new mattress.
That’s your bed homie. I thought it was turning 36 . Nope got a new mattress and I don’t have to stretch in the mornings anymore
Will look into that. Thanks
You shouldn't be experiencing that in your 30's. You might need a new mattress.
Ok, so I have had neck problems since some injuries wrestling back in high school. It’s so bad that I’ve been admitted for intravenous pain management and muscle relaxers on more than one occasion.
An old college classmate became a Dr in PT and I became a patient just a few weeks ago during a flair up.
She did a great deal of work on the muscles with massage, gentle stretching, and dry needling with tens stimulation. Then she gave me some supplemental work which has been extremely helpful, I suggest if you have neck issues that you consider discussing the following exercises/stretches with your PT or PCP
I'm 42 and cannot relate. Something else is wrong with the dude.
38 and I cant relate either. I've physically felt the same for the past 10+ years.
This brought me to tears
Anyone got the source of content?
This is worse than a rickroll
Comedian’s name is Jarrett Campbell. I met him once when he came to my town on tour. Super nice guy. Very Canadian fella.
Started BJJ at 43, cmon. Yeah, you find out how wrecked your body got sitting in a chair and that should be reason to keep going (slowly)
I found out how much i f-ed up my body sitting in a chair whole day working on computers for 20 years. Now pt and rehab
Take it easy and best on your rehab. The issues from that life are bad, I know as well
lol...30's. You sweet, sweet child.
“Were doing full fucking body turns here budd” 😂
What are those two goofballs in the background doing at 22 seconds?
I recently went back to the gym after a decade of sitting around. I took the walk of shame after 40 minutes of leg day.
Fuck me, that hit straight home. Can’t even fucking get off the couch without a aaaaahhhnnngg.
30s? Bruh look like 50 😂
Hmm haven’t gone to the gym in 10 years but I weigh 25 lbs more than I did back then so I can probably lift more. 😖
Haha, I don’t think that’s how it works, bud… not unless that’s muscle mass that you’ve gained from working out at home. 🤷🏻♂️
30? That’s your prime. Most special forces operatives do SF training at that age.
Do you think the elite group of elite soldiers represents the average dude getting back into working out at 30?
ain't no one got time to go to San fran at a time like this 🤨
Slept wrong (I mean Come ON for YEARS like this), rotator cuff injury. 60f
Happened to me at 28, didnt finally seek help until I was 32 😆. That pride gets in the way sometimes.
Right up the spine
What the hell happened to all of you :/
Classic
Fr it be like that 😫🤣
It's that and also deciding for no good reason to throw 4 plates on the bar "cause you could do it when you were 22" and then not being able to move your back for a week.
Me, 26, contemplating arobic neck exercises after watching this.
35 and not at all relatable to me. I did this when I was 21 stretching when I woke up and never since then
Wait til 50 that is sooo me. One time I couldn’t sit up from the bench f he’ll.
I think that's more about how well you stay on top of your physical health. I know people in their late 60's that can still move like they're in their 40s.
lol reminds me when I tried to do squats right away. No stretching, haven’t been to the gym in months. I thought I tore a muscle and had my wife walk slowly next to me just in case I fell.
Take it easy folks. You’re not 18 anymore.
Pickle ball hahahaha
This is why it's important to avoid impact sports and maintain a good level of strength and flexibility throughout life
thats the hardest ive laughed at a vid in a while. I did my back in trying to pull up my socks lol. couldnt walk fo almost 5 days.
Hilarious. Would love to see more like this. Middle aged man shopping, attempting DIY, dating…
That lower back pain clocks in sporadically then wants to work overtime.
I was 55, first time I entered the gym. No pain no gain?? Try everything hurts.. this is my life now.
This was brilliant. I have to constantly remind myself I’m no longer as repairable as I once was.
30? That dude’s at least 40
Try 49
I started doing in hill sprints at 30 and got in best shape of my life. Made me regret not doing them in my teens. We would’ve won State…. I could’ve gone pro……. found my soul mate
30?
Nope. Not relatable at all.
It doesn't stop either. You find a whole new weak muscle every time.
More like 40s for me but 1000%
Fuck this guy for even mentioning fucking pickle ball.
Stretch daily, fewer issues
That’s why I always start from decompressing my lower back.
Too relatable to be funny…
Here I am literally recovering from a stiff neck that I got from bending down to tie my shoelace T_T
Its messed up but I can relate. I had to limp outta there and could barely get in the car
Dude looks 50
30’s, lol. You kids have no idea what’s coming.
I'm a little older. I bent over to get the soap in the shower and hurt my back for 3 weeks. I'm Canadian too.
Just never stop working out and you’ll be fine
Thank god I'm starting gym on my early 30s
Dude, this, is so true... it's ridiculous 😒 .. like why do our bodies start to crumble at 30.. I just turned 32 and dude..my body has thrown everything it can towards me..lmao. 🙃
I hate and love how accurate this is.
Fortunately, I didn't have this issue. Not until qn IED damaged my body so badly that I had to relearn how to walk at age 37. Now at 54, I find getting up to use the restroom without help an amazing feat of accomplishment
Was just talking about body pain with my friends and this friggin pops out 🤣
Now this is relatable
The looking using the whole body .. yeah yup..damnit
People miss the reason, why so many experience this in their thirties.
I recently did myself.
After 10 years of chasing a career, building a home and getting kids, i finally have "time" to do something for myself again.
I used to work out, but havnt hit the gym since my early 20s. Going into the gym these days is shocking. My joints hurt after heavy compound workouts and I need fucking stabilizing support sleeves to not hurt myself.
This is not how i remembered.
Dude skipped leg day every damn day.
Talk to me again when you hurt yourself sleeping,
So real that I can't even laugh.
LMT here. Over 30 years old is when we start getting pinched nerves more often. This is so accurate, lol.
did a few sit-ups as a mid 40s yesterday and now I can't get out my chair without rolling onto my side and using my legs as a dead weight lever
That guy is atleast 43
I'm so sad that I can relate to this.
I pulled my neck recently when picking up clothes, no gym needed.
me with shoulder pain from military press and knee pain for god reason what
What the hell are you guys doing to be like this in your 30s?
Haha love it
Follow for more pain
I lost it!
I wish there was filter for stupid content so I can ban it.
I'm 50 and I died 20 years ago.
late 30s here, pretty fit, do a manual job and I put my back out sneezing a few months ago. Shits real
This is hilariously true 😩😩😂
But tbh most of my injuries come from the most mundane tasks, rather than the actual gym 🫠
I am way older... And certainly this describes me quite well
Too true. Every bit of it.
Bullshit. Im 40 and never pulled anything even when lifting heavy.
Are you guys really that weak I'm in my mid 40's and feel as good as ever.
Lol TOO REAL.
38 here, had to do this to solve this exact problem.
Stretch every day. Do a lil jog for like .25mi. Warmup with half the weight. Workout your back first at the gym, hammer rows, lat pull downs, stuff like that. DONT EGO LIFT! YOUR 20'S ARE DEAD, LET THEM GO. lol
if he is 30, then im 23.
I'm a 39 year old man who works out most days and currently have no idea what my generation of people seem to be doing wrong to just apparently be in a world ending amount of pain before they even get out of bed
40 year-old dude here. Trust me, bro it doesn’t get any better but I’m proud of you going to the gym while your 37 lol
Bro why am I getting violated like this before noon.
lol 😂 I would have said don’t be dramatic but…
Cringe
I'm 41 I'm dying.
Lmaoo
Seeing this as a 37yo, I might have torn something in my neck. Thanks a lot.
I started biking to help with this kind of thing. Now I'm in great shape to be splatted by a car.
rule 1 - no phones at the gym
Sorry guys but wait till you’re 50. Nothing much changes…just as stiff, but then you start to get weaker. Do mobility when you are young!
Dox worthy
I hate to see them in their 60s; might as well be bed ridden
Yeah boyyy!.
This is me crouching down to pick up the toddler but not trying to strain the lower back
then knees popping 🍾
Funny when my kid asks me if I'm okay 😂
I feel callout out, damm it all!
Wow you must be really shit at taking care of your body if youre cramping up in your 30's. This guy looks like hes pushing mid-late 40's
I'm 41, and I do 10 minutes of stretching for an actual 2 minute workout. Sometimes, I think I'm not stretching enough.
Too accurate
Happened to me around a month ago when I stretched my neck on the elliptical 😔
Follow this up by 42 year old guy who is in the best shape of his life, does deep squats and splits, and wears short short shorts just to show off his maxed out quads. Why are all old dudes so jacked!?
First time I exercised in the late 30s I got fewer for 4 days. Blimey.
Haa..wait until 47. I lose my breath walking from my car into the gym!
Not boobie bait, a repost, re-enacting another meme but worse or AI slop.
And actually funny.
Fuck me sir you just won Reddit.
How can I find his Chanel or what ever?
💯💯💯💯💯🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
now do the robot dance
30?... Pfft hold my beer.
I'm 56. This hits HARD!
This happens to me almost every other week. Thinking about quitting.
You young guys in your 30's... wait to you see what's coming.
I have to squat with wedges because my ankles don’t move like they used to.
I read this while stuck in bed with full body cramping cus i forgot its been a decade since my gym years
I don't get this. I'm 41. Y'all 30 year olds ARE in better shape than me and I don't play this old as shit game. Maybe y'all ... if you really feel this way should stick a screwdriver in a socket when you were 7.
Damn lol
I know people in their early 30's worse than this, typically due to injuries from sports earlier in life.
I'm definitely not getting my kid into any impact sports (wrestling, football, etc) and i'll have him avoid some of the more fun but dangerous sports I liked (motocross, fast downhill mountain biking).
Also, people who don't have a decent level of general fitness and flexibility tend to hurt themselves easier, so building a good workout routine that you can maintain for life goes a long way towards good strength and bone density when you're older.
Being decrepit when you're old is totally avoidable.
He looks a lot older than 37.
HAHAHAHA!!! HE IS OLDER NOW SO HE GETS HURT EASILY !!!! THIS IS VERY FUNNY AND RELATABLE !!!
