Bitchin’
Daddy said a cuss word!
Meanwhile Maggie's got the thousand mile stare.
“Mr. Ploot, Homer Simpson here..when you sold me this house you forgot to mention it was built on an Indian burial ground…..”
He said he mentioned it 5 or 6 times
Yeah, well... that's not my recollection!
. . .And that it was the setting of satanic rituals, witch burnings and five John Denver Christmas specials.
WELL THAT'S NOT MY RECOLLECTION!
Why was he so outraged if it had already been told to him 5 or 6 times?
He probably wasn't listening
James earl Jones was great in these specials
This is truly a disturbing universe

ay'ck, I'm bad at this...
"You will die. You will die slowly. Your stomach will swell. Your intestines will writhe and boil. Your eyes will burst, and some horrible stuff..."
Possibly your BRAINS, will ooze out…
The first Treehouse of Horror was excellent, all three stories, but my one little nitpicking criticism of the first two is that they had the same theme/punchline, the family were the real monsters.
Different era. This was when Simpsons was still counterculture and shitehawks like George Bush Sr were using it as evidence of moral decline. The writers kind of leaned into that.
"And a dollar for yourself."
"A buck. I'm glad there's a curse on this place."
That's quite a who's-who!
Are you my conscience?
I...uh...yes I am.
GET. OUT.
Make the walls bleed! Do it do it do it!
Hey, listen lady..!
Don’t call me lady!
Is the sparkling house a reference to something?
Poltergeist.
Poltergeist, a great 80s horror movie, you should watch it. At night, alone.
Ok
Fun fact: it's a common misconception that the house in Poltergeist was built on an Indian burial ground - a joke this episode uses. It wasn't - it was built on the towns regular graveyard.
The Indian burial ground trope was the Overlook hotel from The Shining.
Technically it was built on two graveyards. Well, one graveyard on top of a tomb. Looooootsa dead people under that house.

Shhh! You wanna get sued?
I always forget this segment exists and I’m reminded why, it was terrifying as a kid
This was undoubtably a very creepy segment.
If anything though, wouldn't you remember it if you found it terrifying?
Can’t help feeling a little rejected.
I never thought I'd feel sad for a haunted house character but I kinda did in this segment, it was only doing its job.
It chose to destroy itself rather than live with us. You can't help but feel a little rejected.
