The only time I can truly recall not siding with Kenny entirely in season one was not going for duck at Herschel’s farm and not dropping ben in the belltower, so his line when trying to join you in episode 5 about “would you be there for my family” was complete bullshit.

I can understand not wanting to go on a rescue mission when his ultimate goal of a boat is in sight, to a degree, but that one line is just so objectively incorrect it was gross. Episode 5 and the overall conclusion of season 1 has a lot of bits where the “your choices matter” sentiment of the game really either is a complete fabrication or amounts to a line of dialogue that amounts to the exact same end result.
Season 1’s overall story and MOST of the characters are enough to overcome that, unlike the other seasons, but that moment made me furious!
I know Lily leaves us nonetheless but I love how she acts if you side with her or stay out of her and Kenny’s fights. Kenny gets mad if you keep silent but Lily just doesn’t care lmao. She’ll still be nice.
Her dialogue is very well written when she likes you and you get to see a side of her that the ones that side with Kenny never see. I mean sure same goes for most Lily siders BUT Kenny is a popular and loved character so videos of him being him are viral and people love him. Meanwhile the minority sided with Lily (I think?) and don’t or didn’t get to see her good side.
I think the writers just needed to get rid of her somehow since she was originally meant to be the comic character.

When clementine was missing all he could worry about is Lee not agreeing with him every time.. like a little girl missing it’s not the time for this. I like Kenny but he want a yes man all the time

Honestly I think it’s just because telltale wanted consequences for both siding with Lilly and siding with Kenny.
Yeah but all that we get as consequences for siding with Kenny is Lily being rude😡 And since that’s like the majority choice people think that’s her personality but nooooo she’s just programmed that way rn lol. Same goes for Kenny.
I find it so funny to see YouTubers play it and think it’s the actual character’s writing (it sort of is but you get what I mean) instead of realizing they’re behaving that way because they didn’t side with them. Well, it’s only funny when it’s Kenny…I hate when people think Lily is a bitch because of it😔
Yeah, I don’t hate lilly at all for being mad at Lee and Kenny after they killed Larry, anyone would be mad about two people you’ve only known for 3 months killing your father in front of you.
Yeah even if it was logical they should’ve calmly talked to her about it instead of dragging her away and dropping it without any actual remorse except a “I’m sorry it was necessary” because the harm was already done.
People don’t realize that choice was based on morality AND who you want to like you more, that’s why I always pick to try and save him.
Lilly leaves you to die from the electric fence during the fight with Andy if you don’t side with her in EP2.
Oh yeah I know about that but I don’t really consider it anything major since it’s never brought up again. Meanwhile Kenny can abstain from helping save Clementine.
