Go/No-Go gauges, used in machining or manufacturing, for checking the dimensions of small parts. These gauges are used to quickly verify if a part's dimension falls within a specified tolerance range.

I'd agree with this. Specifically checking the chamfer of a part.

Apparently they might be for setting up a sheet metal press because those measurements correspond to standard sheet metal gauges expressed in inches

Is it a gauge set? You could measure the sizes of other round things, using these as a reference. The kind of tool you never even think of until you suddenly need it for critical dimensions on a run of 1000 parts
