I found one in my underwear drawer and spent 10 minutes trying to grab it (with a tissue). I’ve found them lounging around my sink (they appear to get in from the drain).

One time about four years ago towards beginning of Covid I took a sip of Pepsi that a cockroach had gone into the can.
All these years later and I still shake them and look in the top like a toddler if it’s been sitting awhile. That was really gross, I feel for you.

I took off work for my honeymoon and decided to celebrate with a day beer to start things off. We went to the store to gather last-minute trip stuff, and when we got back, I said, "Oh, that pesky fly seems to be gone." Then I took a sip of the beer I left out and found out where it went.
This is a good idea regardless of age - there was a lil girl that use to live on my childhood street who was in her garden with a can of juice. When she picked it up, she hadn't realised a wasp had made it's way into the can until it stung the back of her throat. Poor wee things throat swole all up and iirc, she took an allergic reaction and didn't make it.

OMG these things get EVERYWHERE. Found them in my luggage, under trash cans..I even found them in a stack of printer paper. That was still wrapped in it's cover. Also got one in my mouth when riding my bike and forgot to close this lid/straw on my water bottle the day before. Ugh
Motherfuckers! I get invaded by then every fall no matter what I do. At the peak I'll probably kill a dozen a day. Then at some point depending how cold and how fast winter comes they just all die out. But for a couple months it's torture. I hate them. I watched one drop from the beam on my kitchen directly into my coffee some years ago. I feel you
