I’ve seen ticks so full of blood they were the size of your thumb! When I was a small boy, I would introduce a flame which usually makes the tick explode. Those were great times!

That was the primary way of dealing with the huge, mutated ticks in that movie.
When I was little, I peeked in on my older brothers watching a movie. The only part I saw was Clint Howard being attacked my those things. I never even knew what the movie was called, until now. So… thanks. That shit was nightmare fuel for years lol.

Sometimes, after popping them with fire, I could see ultra tiny fully functioning ticks were contained within.
Also, very large ones didn’t pop much, more like cracked (open).

My aunt had a large property with a big field and her dogs ran loose. During the summer she'd pull ticks off them and put them in a jar with alcohol nto kill them. By the end of the summer the jar would be full of bloated dead ticks. Terrifying.

True, but just watch for symptoms and your pup will be fine even if they catch it. I have pulled about 500 of these off my dog in it's life and managed to avoid it, but it can happen.
I may be wrong, it might just look similar. If you dog does get a paralysis tick your it will start to show symptoms in coming daysr . Idk if you have those , I’m from aus .
