What are the 10 openings between the twin vertical stabilizers? Extra counter measures?
That plane is a big counter measure in itself.
Ram air exhausts.
I presume the two open doors in front of them are intakes?
Correct.
Thank you.... Engine cooling or?
Environment Control System. Ingests cool outside air to cool sensors and mix with engine heat for environmental air.
The last part doesn't quite read right.....I'm sure I'm missing something, so your continued patience is greatly appreciated.... If the air is bring brought in to cool sensors, that's going to raise the temp of the air that is then mixed with the engine heat... why would that benefit environmental air (presuming you are talking about a PAC/cockpit environmental control)?
So think of the ECS as similar to an airliner’s bleed air system to the PACKs. The cool air is going to be used to cool the avionics and then be ejected via the exhaust, while some of that same cool air will be run through a heat exchanger to bring it up to temperature for the cockpit, or anywhere else it might be needed.
Excellent! Thank you!
The way the WSO(?) is gesticulating, it looks like hes spilling the tea.
in the growler the backseater is an EWO!
Ah thanks for the correction!
