Hunter pet no talents bug
All of my prepatch pets do not have talents and I get this error when trying to choose them. New pet tames have the default talents but cannot swap aswell. I am able to swap pet talents when i myself have not selected a specialization but do to not having exotic beasts when having no specialization i am unable to pull out my spirit beasts to do this work around. Entering a instance does not work. Anyone encounter this and have a solution.

Had this today, changed to my other spec and tried again and it worked
I wonder if this is related to a bug I've been experiencing, where taking a portal seems to put me in a bugged spec. It's like I have the bars from the other spec, and some passives noticably aren't working. I have to swap spec and back to fix it every time.
Im encountering this bug also. But swapping talents doesnt fix my bars like other people are experiencing. Swapping specs doesnt fix my pets either.
Does not work for me unfortunetly.
Weird, my hunter doesn't have this problem with his pets. I can freely choose and switch talents on the pets.
I have this bug so all pets have no talents and no skill bar either. They are parked for the duration. Wonderful stuff blizz. Paying you for the privilege of parking useless hunters in town.
And I resubbed for this DUH
The skill bar appears hidden with the prepatch I had to manually drag the icons back to it from the pet bar. It's beside the aura bar on default UI.
I can't pick any one of the 3 talent trees at all. So I don't get the skills in the first place. If blizzard ever gets around to fixing this...as of today after extra maintenance I still cannot assign any hunter pet to a skill tree.
And addons I have used forever no longer work either. I didn't know we were beta testing MoP, silly me.

Oh fuck, haven't played my hunter a whole lot, but yea I'm unable to pick talents either. I plan on doing survival, so I can at least use the work around you specified. But, yea BM was my other spec and I don't see how we can fix that beyond trying to retame the exotic ones, which is less than easy with the influx of players.
Yeah the workaround is great if your MM/Surv BM spirit beasts not so much.

Is your pet summoned? Mine would not let me pick a specialization unless the pet was summoned (ie I could not be mounted for instance and do it)
I am unmounted and pet summoned. Its a weird bug
