Looking for ideas for a DBZ birthday for a 4 year old.

Looking for ideas for a DBZ birthday for a 4 year old.

Little guy wants a Dragonball Z birthday this year (December, on a budget so planning early) so im looking for some decoration, food, or game ideas!

Hes not in daycare or school so there likely wont be any other kids...He is an only child, no cousins. It will likely just be his dad and I, uncles, aunt, and grandma and grandpa. Which is why we try to lean heavy into the theme to feel special.

He hasn't actually watched DBZ really but his dad and I collect merch so he is familiar with all the characters. His favorite used to be Piccolo but now he says its Goku (mine is Vegeta but you didnt ask). So the classic orange and blue will probably lead the theme colors.

Also trying to figure out a little pun for it being his 4th birthday. For example last year he had a Pokemon 3rd bday and the pun/catchphrase was "A wild 3 year old appeared"

Wanna figure out a list of a few filler episodes to watch during down time as well, or just episodes with little to no fighting.

Included a pic of some ideas ive started saving.

I wouldn’t go with “Dragon Fire Balls” with those cheese puffs considering it doesn’t have much to do with the show but that’s just me. I would have a “Dragon ball hunt” where you hide the 7 around the house or neighborhood and have everyone help them try to find it. Once he finds all seven? Cake and present time!

Yeah, we did a similar scavenger hunt with pokemon last year definitely doing that again. Hadn't thought about him finding them all means cake and presents, I like that, thanks!

I like the cheese balls just because they are orange balls, like dragon balls. Keeping the food themed, but I wouldnt label them fire balls, thats dumb lol.

I was thinking edemame....my son likes to pick the bean pod things out of green beans and snap peas and just eat those so I figure he'll enjoy some edemame "senzu" beans. Or maybe some "Senzu" bean soup for dinner. Idk.

Maybe the dragon ball (original not z) season 1 box set as a gift? If the original is too much maybe GT? Both of those as you know feature Goku as a kid and I’d imagine watching a cartoon where the MC is a kid around your age is more fun than watching adults. Both of those are less than 60 bucks together or about 30 separate could be fun to just pop it in on the tv and let him watch during the party.

Best parent ever! I would have died having this done for me. Ninja TURLES were the only thing around back then……in America

Got an idea for food: Chinese Takeout

Goku always eats giant spreads, and he directly references Chinese culture. Get a couple things, plate them up in serving bowls (or you might be able to find some Chinese style disposable ones, I've gotten similar at takeout or foodtrucks). Fried rice, lo mein, any of the stick chicken dishes, spare ribs, dumplings, a soup, maybe even get an authentic dish or two, whatever fits all of your tastes. Easy to scale up if family comes, cheap, and you can have leftovers.

When I was 4, I was excited when we got take out. I think I thought all the glossy chicken was basically candy. So I would eat most of it happily. And I always liked those food scenes. I got obsessed with learning to eat chopsticks cause of DBZ.

Find a dragon ball pinata and get a red stick like the power pole, to use for it. Best i can think of haha.

Maybe a pin the tail on the great ape game too

The 4 star dragonball is significant so please be sure the birthday kid gets a picture made with it.

Absolutely, we have a tin ball that a blanket came in. Probably will use that as a prop.....even though my inner anxiety will be through the roof about him denting it lol.
