Everyone knows the best way to reduce a trade deficit is to make it harder to import as opposed to making it easier to export.
Like when he blames Canada for the trade deficit. Canada has the population of California, we can never import as much goods as the USA imports from Canada. The USA imports mainly Natural resources from Canada that they use to manufacture goods for the whole world.
If you look at in per capita, Canada imports more per person then the USA does.
If I were the president of the USA I would absolutely have someone with decades of experiences writing official letters to other world leaders.
