If you are a non-violent offender there is a possibility you could get your rights restored. I don't know where you are located but it might be worth looking into. It varies from state to state and depends on your crime and how long it's been since your offense but it could be as easy as writing a letter to your governor explaining your case and asking nicely

Had a friend with a non-violent felony distribution charge and he managed to get his rights back. Just look up what you have to do in your area, it may or may not be a good idea to hire a lawyer depending on what is required
