I’d settle for a “no crash” release of New Vegas.
Ohh you'll get new Vegas, but no promises on the no crashing part.
"We remade New Vegas, and to keep the authentic experience of the cult classic it has brand new bugs you can experience! We've also streamlined the game to make it more accesible to new players, you can no longer go north directly to the strip, and we've removed Yesman and House as choices for players struggling. Now there is a clearer moral choice for players new and old."
I would shoot myself - in game - if that happened.
I fully expect Bethesda to pull that.
"Also, we added voice lines for immersion and simplified the dialogue UI to make it more accessible! The Courier can no longer say "No" to quests and the enemies are rendered as squishable raw marshmallows. And we removed all morally ambiguous choices for quests because blah, and we added the Creators Club DLC to substitute Nexus mods because we love your money and think it loves us more than you!"
Or some such shit.
So do you guys just like whining about things you decided are happening? Like are you just totally unaware of the Oblivion Remaster which does literally none of those things?
I think it's a joke. But also the oblivion remaster is good BUT doesn't it have a lot of the same bugs and issues the og has? It's great because the game itself was always great but in terms of actual improvements it's nothing to gloat about. Pretty and smooth but other than that ?
I mean I found notes in oblivion remastered that gave directions to a quest. I followed the note and found nothing. Googled it and found a thread from 13 years ago explaining this quest doesn't exist and they just forgot to remove the notes regarding it.
Why this non existent quests note was still present in the remaster is beyond me.
The same applies to every bug I encountered. Googled it, thread from 13 years ago giving help.
The comment you replied to is dramatic and silly BUT them remastering new Vegas just for it to have all the SAME bugs and glitches isn't far fetched.
They didn't rebuild the game.
They basically took the old creation engine, and put Unreal 5 overtop as a graphical wrapper so it was being controlled like some sort of sockpuppet.
Honestly though, she's a good lookin' sock puppet.
Oblivion remastered should be $20
I mean I was just trying to be funny, but I've been burnt enough in the past I guess. Also haven't played the oblibion remaster sadly, I have nothing that can run it. My pc is old as shit
The Xbox version runs really smoothly. Same with playing on the steam deck.
Regular windows 10 just takes about a dozen mods and you'll have an amazing experience.
That said, I definitely would take a remaster like what they did with oblivion
Agreed. I play New Vegas and 3 on Xbox series x and it runs great, minus occasional crashing.
I'll stand by installing Tale Of Two Wastelands as by far the best way to play these games today. It's the smoothest, fastest and most-stable way to play either of these games
Even if you have all the right mods it still randomly crashes.
It's definitely from that weird era of gaming where everything had the stability of a house of cards.
That said there's the viva new Vegas modlist that I use the stability guide (it's really a great guide if you skip the balance changes imo). I think in a 50+ hour save I had one crash and none of the awful studders it usually has
How about a crash “after” release?
If they release an Oblivion-like FNV Remaster I can die happy. There's no game I want to see, nothing I feel I'd miss. FNV Remastered may well be the last game I'll ever buy.
So true. I got on the NV bandwagon like 10 years too late (at release I had vowed not to buy obsidian games again after being burned by KotOR2 and Neverwinter Nights 2). By the time I picked it up the gun play just felt so horrible (post Fallout 4). If they updated that I'd buy for sure.
This is a feature!
The mods on Nexus make it run fully stable with upgrades graphics now. I really recommend the experience.

Interesting. It crashes a lot for my on the Steam Deck OLED. Especially in the expansions.
It crashed on mine too but only after I changed settings from the default ones they set for the Deck. After I set everything back to default and only increased resolution to the decks’s native resolution did I stop having crashes.
You can see clear annoyance in Todd's face whenever New Vegas gets mentioned. It ain't happening, boi.
That’s what 3rd parties are for. can’t expect Bethesda to do that in house..
Modded New Vegas does not crash.
Remastering a game that released a couple of years ago? What madness is this?
*checks dates*
oh
We old
I remember fallout 3 being released in middle school. It's been almost 18 years since then.
I was 23 when it came out…
How's the AARP?
Traders better be giving that senior discount.
I was a senior in high school. That game defined that period of my life.
Genuinely can’t agree, this is one that has felt like ages
Especially since graphically Fallout 3 and NV were more or less aged before they even released.
My sense of time has been fucked by covid
The pandemic itself feels like it was impossibly long ago. Everything before the pandemic is ancient, feels like lifetimes ago
Everything that has happened since covid was super recent. It's all "the other day" or " awhile back"
Yeah I mean It's legitimately been almost 20 years, some people have had both kids AND grandkids in that time
17 years doesn't feel like a couple years. It really feels like a long time ago.
Yeah even Fallout 4 feels like a long time ago
Well, it's coming up on 10 years.
Nothing after the year 2001 feels like a long time ago to me. It all feels like last week lol. I'm getting old. Time is speeding up.
Fallout 3 was released October 2008
Fallout 2 was released october 1998
Fallout 2 was 10 years ago from the fallout 3 release and it felt like an ancient game that was a century ago when Fallout 3 released.
Now we are 17 years away from the Fallout 3 release.
Let that sink in 🧓
Yeah, that's the vibe for me. Fallout 3 is this 'new fangled 3d version' of the beloved games from my youth...yet it was 17 years ago. Time be crazy
Here’s a fun one: Mario 64 is now 29 years old. 29 years before that was 1967.
as a guy in mid-30s I am quite sure that there was the Era of Ancient Games, and then there was a time warp when 9/11 happened and we entered Era of Relatively New Games in 2004 with the release of Half Life 2.
You may think that it was like 6 years between Half Life 2 and Fallout, but in reality it was 25
Fallout 4 turns 10 in a few months. We will have had a longer span between mainline Fallout games than when the series was an IP owned by a dead studio.
That's cool and all, but I'd still much rather just have Fallout 1 and 2 remade as 3D games.
Bro never heard of the "the last of us"
A 2020 game getting a remaster was wild
Remaster =/= remake. The original TLOU was already remastered as a PS4 launch title like a year after its original release.
There’s no way you think fo3 was a “couple of years ago”
The remasters are catching up with my backlog these days.
I think they gonna drop the New Vegas remake at the same time as the tv show or day later, that’s a great opportunity for them to capitalize.
A New Vegas remake/remaster with all the bits that Obsidian had to drop because of the time crunch would be perfect.
If you are on PC, look at the J-Sawyer Mod. The actual dev made a mod of all the cut content.
The mod is cool but it’s definitely not all the cut content. Sawyer has stated in interviews he wanted a much more fleshed out legion path and area within the game world including settlements and such. The strip was also going to be much bigger than it ended up being and we also were meant to be able to explore the world post credits to actually see how the world had been changed rather than just the ending slides.
And no mod has any of that shit?? Will we ever get a remaster?
Unfortunately even if we do get a remaster it won’t include any of that I’m afraid. They’d have enough on their hands with the base game and 4 dlcs never mind remaking portions of the game that don’t already exist proper.
They should, but even after shadow-dropping Oblivion like that, I don’t see how it’s possible. Virtuos did that and they’ve been developing small content patches for Cyberpunk 2077. Fallout Season 2 drops in December of this year. Unless they outsourced development to a completely different studio, I don’t see how there’s enough time to have gotten it done.
Man that’s the thing! That Oblivion give me the hope! But look on the other side, the “leak” years back matches quite well with what we got so far, just a few delays cause the Covid, it’s possible, on this topic I really don’t wanna be proven wrong, but guess we’ll see.
I mean, that sounds like the best way to honour New Vegas. A short time frame to release a masterpiece, just like the original!
FO3/NV remaster released as a combo, mayhaps?
A man can dream 🥲
Did they say NV remake? I think it will probably be a while for that one
No, the original roadmap leak where we learned of the Oblivion Remaster also mentioned Fallout 3 Remastered, but never mentioned New Vegas. Of course, NV reuses so many FO3 assets that you'll have automatically done 50% of the work for a NV remaster anyway.
No, lol I didn’t even read the article, they say “multiple” so I just assumed it, well a man hope and dream.
We're getting a Skyrim Remastered before TES VI. Lol.
Wasn’t Skyrim already remastered 7 or 8 times? Can’t wait to buy it again so I can spend another 700 hours picking up every piece of junk I can find to sell for a dollar each and then quit playing before even completing 10 percent of the story.
It was remastered once... the special edition. VR wasn't a remaster and neither was Anniversary edition.
It’s had several re-releases with some minor visual-audio changes in one of them. But no actual remaster of Skyrim exists that I know of.
Oblivion remaster was beautifully done. I'd love this for the Fallout games
Like, I'll love a remaster of 3 - but NV is going to fucking rule.
I'd probably eventually buy a remaster but I'm for sure not even considering buying any new game until a full calendar year later.
Fallout 76 and Starfield weren't worth the money I paid for them and I just have no faith in Bethesda getting it right ever again.
Meh. Oblivion remaster was fucking fun and I got to play it for 25 bucks on gamepass. Totally worth it.
Did they ever fix the performance issues?
They beautifully did not.
It's not a bug, it's a feature.
Only in Bethesda games...
My two favorite single player games of the generation are Oblivion and Fallout 3. I would be so stoked if FO:3 is the same quality as Oblivion
Same.
I was fucking shocked at how good the Oblivion Remaster was, especially since it was a shadow release.
It's good because it wasn't done by Bethesda, lol.
I swore to never give Bethesda money ever again after Starfield but then the remaster hit, I read it was outsourced. Saw the reception and decided, fuck it, I'm making an exception because GOOD work should be rewarded. Plus I never played the original for more than 4h. So it was basically a new Elder Scrolls for me and it was great. Kind of a reminder why I loved Bethesda once upon a time. Strange feeling after all the bitterness towards them of the past five years or so.
If by beautifully done you mean has a ton of performance issues and crashes, then yeah.
Fallout 3 with FO4's walk-in power armour is all I really want, with updated graphics.
I would be stunned if that happens.
It's going to be like Oblivion, updated graphics with some QOL changes that is designed to run on modern operating systems. They arent going to take the time to totally rework the power armor in FO3.
If that’s the way they’re going to do it, A Tale of Two Wastelands will remain the definitive way to play the game, imo. I would only be interested in a full on remake.
Just did a playthrough of that not too long ago. Honestly got way more into the roleplaying aspect than I expected to, and man, FO3 is remarkably bleak when you look at it diagetically - nothing really ever gets much better no matter what you do. I've got two stand-out examples:
1) Big Town. After doing all their quests, they still just kind of... sit there. In collapsed houses, with no defenses, nothing gets better, they're still a bunch of scared and depressed kids trying to farm from ground that barely grows anything. Fuck, it hit me really hard.
2) Post-Broken Steel. I found a water convoy outside Megaton, with two BoS guys in power armor giving free clean water to some citizens. The citizens asked for more, and were denied, since there wasn't enough for every settlement so they were rationing it. The Megaton citizens kept insisting and eventually opened fire on the BoS members and on me - the person who'd spend so much time trying to help both Megaton and the wasteland at large. Nothing changed; if anything, from my character's perspective, she no longer was welcome at the only home she had since she was rejected from returning to her Vault.
I never expected it, but my Lone Wanderer ended up siding with House in the end. In her mind, everything she touched almost always ended up awful, and he seemed to be someone with an actual long-term plan that had a better chance at doing things than her strategy of "be helpful and try not to cry".
It’s the weapon modification for me. Giving all the F3 junk purpose while allowing you to make any gun into whatever kind of tool you want it to be without it feeling overly complicated with modifiers and classes and tiers. 10/10 system in F4
Let’s not get our hopes up. I’m betting there will be minor improvements but not huge overhauls to anything other than graphical fidelity. Expect FO3, but with a facelift and small QoL features like sprinting.
Sure, but will our weapons vanish when we holster them? Cause that shit drives me nuts.
Much as i would love it, i'd prefer it stay how it is.
With the success of the TV show you gotta think Microsoft is really leaning on them to get a new game out sometime this decade...
This can mean anything. They have been working on ES6 for very long so who knows how far it is. They also got a remaster done by another team.
They've only been working on ES6 for a few years.
They got different teams. A pre production team will not stay pre producing an already pre produced game.
Everyone’s working on a remaster because it’s easier than actually putting forth creative ideas for a new game. Everything is now about maximizing as much profit as possible in the quickest time.
Presumably Bethesda is outsourcing the remastering work, so the overall outcome is that they are doing both. Unless you think they won’t ever release their next game (ESVI).
For sure. More or less speaking on the entire AAA industry as a whole - not just Bethesda. Everything is getting a remaster. It’s a quick and easy cash grab so the investors can buy another yacht this summer.
It’s the same thing across the entire entertainment industry. Why come up with new idea when you can spend way less to repeat an old idea
Well we all saw what happened when they did something new.
Did you enjoy Starfield?
Starfield killed any hope I had left for ES6 being good
Nobody enjoyed Starfield!
There are more people playing Skyrim than there are playing starfield
I enjoyed Starfield.
There are dozen of us! Sadly you can't enjoy Starfield it's forbidden by redditors gaming posers.
We already knew this for years. Virtuos is also working on it.
Just make it less (for that time) next gen brown and grey. That's all I want.
Brown and grey? It was mostly green and grey.
Because radiation = green world, apparently.
For the menus and a few things yeah. But my overwhelming memory is brown...
Either way, I am so happy we've passed that generation of graphics.
“Bethesda threatens to remaster Fallout 3”
We've all been wanting another Fallout New Vegas in the sense it's a side project between main products to hold us over. You'd think Bethesda at this point would be big enough to get smaller projects off the ground to give us something between 10-20 year main game releases. Ideally in the vein of what we are accustomed to. I don't really consider FO76 to be a Fallout game. Not like FO3, NV, and FO4. I don't consider Elder Scrolls Online an Elder Scrolls game like Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
We need more games to hold us over between releases especially if the release window is going to be as long as it has been for these franchises. It's why Oblivion remaster exploded the way it did. Elder Scrolls fans are starving for Elder Scrolls content. So if this rumour has any legs, it's great news for not only Fallout fans but Elder Scrolls fans. Cause it means we might see more side projects between main projects.
So the third party that did Oblivion Remastered will probably be doing FO3 Remastered, right?
If they cant get the rights for Three Dog dont even make the game.
Im hungry for anything fallout. Sure hope that Fallout 3 remaster Remake is coming out soon. Honestly it just having new textures for everything and a massive studio like virtuous on it. Seems plausible for it to pop up when the next season of fallout comes out
Can we just get a version remastered or future, that doesn't require a loading screen via every single door
17yr old me would never have imagined that in 2025 I'm playing the same exact games... just remastred.. give me a break
Define "working on" because if they've merely conceptualized about Fallout 5 that's not exactly what I would consider actively working on
They should have been doing this for the last 5 years at least. I guess for some reason they don't want to make a bunch of money.
Fallout TV is great but turn around times for games are usually atrocious these days. Unless the TV show goes for like 9 seasons it'll be over before they finish anything actually new.
Well in the original leaks that showed oblivion and fallout 3 remasters fallout 3 was slated as the financial year after the oblivion remaster. Whether that's true or not is anyone's guess but that would probably line up with a season 3.
please god i’m begging for a NV Remastee
Can't wait to hear in 2029 about how Bethesda cancelled all the projects at different states of early development and decided to focus on remastering FO3
just redo all of them thru ue5 and call it a day. i’d gladly pay for remaster of new vegas too.
I just want ES6. Fallout 3 was fun 18 years ago so I wouldn't mind playing that again.
After Oblivion remaster, they have my attention.
good fallout needs a remaster much more than Oblivion did
Give all of them to me. All of them. But please do them well.
can we jsut stop remaking old games please? like why has it become normal to wait 10 years for a new release but we get countless remakes? shits wrong
FO3 with updated visuals and sprinting would be great
So they decided that new IPs do not work for them, instead they'd milk the 20-year old cows of ES4 and F3. What has this company become...
You don't love Bethesda, you love the IDEA of Bethesda. The Bethesda you know and love died in 2015.
Remember when studios made new games?
Bethesda released a new IP less than two whole years ago lmao
And that experience probably convinced them to take the safe route going forward with mostly remakes.
the remasters are primarily developed by a third party; Bethesda is working on a new Elder Scrolls game
They are lol hence “multiple projects” only one of them is a remaster.
oh boy another remaster with insanely bad performance I can't wait
Don’t play with my heart like this, FO3 remastered would be insane!
After Starfield I'm afraid of Bethesda working on anything.
Give me Switch 2 ports of anything other than Fallout Shelter and I'll be happy.
Bethesda working on multiple Fallout games is wild… just please don’t leave New Vegas in the vault.
It’s really not inconceivable that the Oblivion Remastered team is working on a Fallout remaster of some kind.
The plan seems for them to release F3R alongside Season 2 of Fallout, I'd be surprised if it does but we know that's the next remaster followed with a NV remaster hopefully.
Assuming Fallout 5 is the next big Bethesda Studios game after The Elder Scrolls 6, that would put its release somewhere in the mid 2030's.
They need to do what CDPR did or something similar. Split the studio and hire new people respectively so you have two studios to work on mainline titles. Bethesda Softworks is too afraid of change
Yeah they did that, im sure, but the 2nd team were/are focused on Fallout 76 I think.
So they did it in the worst way possible.
I’d expect nothing less from Bethesda
It just works
They’d be typing an angry reply right now if their keyboard didn’t clip through the desk and then fly into outer space
Starfield would’ve been more fun had something like that happened to me.
Eh, who am I kidding? Nothing could salvage that pile of dogshit.
Aw classic Bethesda...
Fantastic ideas. God awful, horrendous, borderline criminally stupid execution.
Yes and no? Their entire reason for ESO and FO76 was that they weren't going to visit those franchises again for a long time, so they wanted to give people content (they didn't really express this though so it pissed everyone off).
In theory, that sounds nice, but Starfield was a massive flop, and the Fallout TV show came out of nowhere to massive success, which made Microsoft force Bethesda to completely change their priorities, so instead they now look like big idiots.
That's very true, I was just saying that forming a separate team and giving them shit like FO76, instead of tasking them with making a new FO single player game with optional co op (that doesn't cannibalize the game's structure and makes all quests dogshit), was an awful way to go about it.
It's like Bethesda is incapable of hiring and training new people, they still feel like a similarly sized studio that made Skyrim 14 years ago that's mostly made up from the same people making the same mistakes, they just ran out of good ideas in the meantime.
Fallout 76 has come a long way to be fair. Game is awesome now.
It's only awesome for people who liked what it was minus the bugs. I hated it from the start and I try it out again every year or two, and it's always the same thing.
They bought the studio working on 76. The whole BGS studio helped push it out the door, but the FO76 team is live service experts. BGS Austin I think? So it’s not really a “split” from the main team
I thought 76 was a Zenimax game? Like ESO?
It is.
I assume the ESO group is its own team too?
ESO is Zenimax Online, not Bethesda Game Studios, they're completely separate
They already did that lol, iirc one is in Baltimore and the other in Texas. Although the way Microsoft has been downsizing lately…
You've got BattleCry in Austin Texas working on Fallout 76, Bethesda Games Studio in Dallas Texas working on Starfield, Zenimax building in Hunt Valley Maryland, Bethesda Game Studios in Rockville Maryland, and Bethesda Games Studios in Montreal Canada.
I think the Montreal studio is their mobile games division, Rockville is their mainline studio, and Hunt Valley is a corporate office.
Might be good for Bethesda. Starfield already had too many cooks in the kitchen.
Starfield and its issues definitely isn't because of 'too many cooks', its a game that's development time was spent trying to make it bigger than ever via procedural generation without giving the generation anything worthwhile to explore for after the first two or three random encounters.
The fact that they even went that way is because of too many cooks. Bethesda should have been able to absolutely nail procgen given their history, but it just felt like the whole world was slapped together. I actually like the game, but it is reallllyyyy obvious that some sections were made by one group and some by a completely different group. Even when it comes to side quests and dialogue.
I never got the impression that there were too many cooks - feels more apt to say the cooks, front of house, and manager are all speaking different l languages. The games never left me feeling like anyone had a cohesive vision of what the final product would be.
What you’re describing is the meaning of “too many cooks in the kitchen”.
Is Bethesda overstaffed with too many managers unable to make a decision? That's not the impression I got, the team seems kinda small in comparison to other behemoths like Ubisoft/EA/Activision where I feel like too many cooks is a better fit. Bethesda just feel rudderless, a game with one developer can feel that way if they don't have a vision for their product.
Thats what happens when there’s too many cooks and a bad manager. No one knows what the game is supposed to be, so everyone is just making their own little piece of a game and stitched them all together.
The former BGS developers Will Shen and Daryl Brigner had this to say about Starfield's developemt process, "the sheer number of people working on a game across different studios can cause problems. "It's more difficult than ever to know who does what, who you're supposed to report to," Brigner said. A fractured team can also create a "silo effect," where "every department is scrambling for resources and saying 'no' to collaboration requests," said Shen. This can lead to the "inadvertent consequence of favoring the department" over the needs of the game, as well as slowing even basic collaboration between departments to a crawl".
Starfields issue is it's a massive world but because of the majority of it being procedurally generated there's little to actually do outside of the main story as you'll have basically seen everything after doing that
Procgen isn’t the issue. The implementation of procgen without any real cohesive vision is the problem.
that would be called "No cook in the kitchen"
Every project needs THE visionary to lead it
Not to be 'umm AkShUallY' but... it's actually Rockville, MD which is in a Baltimore suburb about 15 minutes away from Bethesda, MD (hence the name). I only know this because I've lived in the area my whole life and am a big nerd. The other studio is also in Austin, TX btw.
Just thought you might be curious to know more since you brought it up! But the only reason I mention it is because they actually call themselves the 'Rockville Studio,' even though either Baltimore or Bethesda might make more sense at first glance, if only for publicity's sake.
[deleted]
that’s what they did, they have a team working on fallout 76 and they out sourced the oblivion remaster (they’ll probably do the same with fallout 3)
I think its not what bethesda has to do. Its what ms has to do - use more beloved franchises they own and assign projects to their studios. Instead of closing them. If you went to each one of the studios and tell them: "this is our ip portfolio. Think which you would like to work on and why we should invest in that project", you'd get some crazy good game ideas, i'm sure of that
They did that. Unfortunately it's for Fallout 76 and not Fallout 5:( The least Microsoft can do is to hire more people so that we wouldn't have to wait this long for new games. By the time fallout 5 comes out we may already be in 2077.
There's probably going to be a longer gap between Fallout 76 and Fallout 5 than there will be with GTA 5 ant GTA 6. And we're most likely not getting a game worth that much of a wait (not saying it'll be bad, just not worth 13+ years of waiting)
The wait between Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 was like, 5 years and I remember that feeling unbearable at the time; and I remember being disappointed with Fallout 4 as it ‘wasn’t worth the wait’.
It’s now been 10 years since Fallout 4 was released. Thankfully I’m not a 15 year old child anymore but a 25 year old grown man (and will probably be 30+ by the time any Fallout 5 releases), and I’ve also had the TV show to tide me over, so I’m not likely to feel the level of disappointment over a good game the way I did back then, but still — warra fucking ridiculous amount of time to wait for an active IP.
More like 2040's based on their record. It's going to be close to 2030 before we even get Elder Scrolls 6.
Watch Microsoft just shut down Bethesda before ES6 lol
At the rate they are going it wouldn't surprise me, but with how big they are Sony would probably buy them.
They wont do this until ES6 underperforms (in relation to whatever insane numbers MS wanted to see)
And somehow it will look like a game from 2005
They absolutely won’t be waiting that long.
They paid billions for Bethesda, they won’t allow another 10 years for a mainline Fallout.
Microsoft can assign the project to any studio under their umbrella. Bethesda doesn’t have to be involved.
You’re not crediting the money they’re making on 76. And they’re actually increasing the size of the “DLC” launching in that game, not decreasing. Monthly subs + mtx + dedicated base.
I would bet that some of the restructuring Bethesda has been doing over the past year was done to try and get it out faster than that.
I used to both joke and cry at this prediction.
Now I just think it's naïve.
Elder scrolls 6 is never coming out Todd Howard is banking on everyone forgetting about it
They need to give 5 to Obsidian, and work on 6. - 2011 TES5: Skyrim - 2015 Fallout 4 - 2019 Fallout 76 - 2023 Starfield - 2027 TES6 - 2031 Fallout 6
Next Fallout is 6 years away.
Obsidian Team 1 (Boyarsky-Cain): - 2019 The Outer Worlds - 2025 The Outer Worlds 2 - 2030 The Outer Worlds 3
Obsidian Team 2 (Brennecke): - 2022 Grounded - 2025 Grounded 2 - 2028 Grounded 3
Obsidian Team 3 (Sawyer): - 2015 Pillars 1 - 2018 Pillars 2 - 2022 Pentiment - 2028 Fallout 5
Obsidian Team 4 (Patel): - 2020 The Outer Worlds DLC - 2025 Awoved - 2029 Awoved 2
This would allow 1 WRPG/year for Xbox: - 2027 TES 6 - 2028 Fallout 5 - 2029 Awoved 2 - 2030 The Outer Worlds 3 - 2031 Fallout 6
Yeah tbh I don’t really want obsidian doing another fallout game based on their last few games. It’s fairly obvious the magic sauce of FNV ain’t there anymore
Unless you count Fallout 4 from 10 years ago, then same could be said about Bethesda.
As opposed to Bethesda who is making great games lately?
Both of these studios are coasting off of past achievements by people who likely aren’t even there anymore.
Bethesdas great games came out 15-25 years ago. The guys who made them are mostly not there now and the few who are still there are old now and not in their prime.
Tbf 76 is pretty great for a fallout game these days. Doesn’t deserve a lot of the hate it gets
FO76 is loads more fun than Starfield will ever be for me. As a SP game it would have been pretty neat. Great map, decent storytelling now with all the NPCs and factions. But the intentional low stash limit and other stuff so you get annoyed and spend money, plus everything camp related being gated behind the disgusting predatory atomic shop is what ultimately made me ditch the game after 130h. Felt like leaving an abusive relationship tbh. FO4 lets me play how I want with all the mods I want. I can build huge cities with no limitations
Bethesda never delivered on the mods on private servers promise. Why would they? They're making bank with the shop. And now they're trying to turn Starfield into a single player live service game and I've had enough of their bullshit.
So at this point I want a different studio to make FO5 as a proper quality RPG with no MTX bullshit or paid mods.
Part of me wonders if their releases have been swapped around, given how bad Microsoft needs a new Fallout game and fast.
6-12 years just isn’t going to work when you’ve got a hit tv show going right now.
